There actually is NO controversy, despite Ben Stein's best efforts to trick the stupid into thinking there is. The scientific community pretty much unanimously agrees that Intelligent design are crap, and that its supporters are not interested in arguments. Creationists just want a free ride, while other people would have to constantly support everything they say.
Did Ben Stein actually say that, that they reconstructed whole fossils out of tiny fragments?
Cause I'm trying to find where that claim comes from, which creationists seem to use every now and then, that scientists supposedly use tiny fossil fragments to make whole creatures.
LOL...Ben Stein is an embarrassment to the human evolutionary race. His ancestors must have fallen out of the tree and hit their heads one too many times.
Not really, Ben's family line had a common ancestor with us but branched out into another line called "Creationist Cro- Magnum". Their evolutionary line uses the bible as a science book and they have an average I.Q. of 6....lol.

Well from my perspective, I just get annoyed when religion tries to trespass into secular aspects of my life.
I have no problem with churches or the right for people to worship how they like, barring the most obvious of exceptions, child abuse, hurting others, breaking laws, etc.
I get severely annoyed when people try to teach religion in place of science and to put religion into the law. These are the two issues that motivate me to speak on the danger religions pose to society.
Hate? You posted that people hate religion in a thread on a video like this piece of garbage? Ha,ha,ha,ha! Funniest terd I've ever seen/read. People can be so stupid. Go to school and I don't mean seminary school or should I say pedophile school?
this is the dumbest thing I've ever seen. The LHC won't discover what the bible already has told us. Google "Sunesis Society" High I.Q. for Christians! Smarter than Mensa!
"Sunesis Society" has 34 members. Mensa has over 100,000. They aren't smarter than Mensa they just require a higher IQ range for membership. There are other high IQ societies that require higher IQ's even still.
oh, i didn't realize that. Thnx genius. Jesus is in Sunesis Society, btw. He well over qualifies for Mensa. When you are being JUDGED after your earthly material sinful existence the last place you will go is to any high i.q. society.
Wow, what a great, relevant point you make neoatingallowed! There are smart Christians out there somewhere, in small amounts, in an extremely small society. Brilliant!
I know I made a great point. I'm smarter than you and relative to your comments, all mine are far more brilliant than yours. I am, after all, very smart, AND I have God on my side. 2 strikes!
Ha, this is a magnificent piece of satire, I especially enjoyed the credits!
What's even funnier though is that creationists already spew out so much crap that people have trouble telling the difference between satire, and authentic idiocy!
Actually it's not that funny... more, sad really.
This is, unfortunatley, what we are up against. These people won't accept the facts. Presenting them is almost pointless. No matter how manner transitional fossils are shown, how much genetic heredity can be proven, or any other validated scientific principles demonstrated, they simply won't accept them. they are brainwashed. Further complicating things, the general public (here in the U.S. at least) is too dumb and/or lazy to learn about science properly. Saying 'God did it' is much easier.
if these transisional forms exist, why don't we see them freely today?
Christians discredit the Evolutionist "transisional forms" b/c everyone of them to this point has been wrong, pieced together to purposefully mislead, or they show dogs still turnign to dogs. I have never seen a fish turn into a human, an ape turn into a human or a tree turn in to a bird.
God is real. Evolution does happen, but with in a Kind, you don't see one kind creating another kind
Evolution doesn't say fish turned into birds or any other crap like that. that's the problem with ID people. They start with a phony claim (that evolution doesn't make), then deconstructs that fabricated argument.
You don't see transitional forms only because you don't want to. They are there, in great number. The ultrareligious simply choose to ignore them and say they 'really aren't transitional forms'. Your entire argument is based on lies, that don't represent the real evidence.
if these transisional forms exist, why don't we see them freely today?<<
Dude seriously. Are you stupid dude seriously. seriously dude. im serious. every animan alive to day is a transitional form. So thats a lot of transitional forms we see freely. Nature dosnt contend to your notion of half dog half pig. Why should it...
so Evolution is a systematic evenly distributed act of chance on all living things in existence... Animals, Fish, Flies, Trees, Birds, Grass, Plants...etc.
Seriously, seriously, seriously dude. Nice intellect. With that huge vocabulary and strong ability to show facts really got me. You really shook my faith with that one.
Its sad when you people think that randomness creates order. DNA requires information from intelligence. It can't write itself.
So you think a supreme intelligence can pop out of thin air but you have a problem believing that a single celled organism was created by a chemical reaction? Wow, you're stupid.
"God is real. Evolution does happen, but with in a Kind, you don't see one kind creating another kind"
How convenient that creationists never define 'kind' so they can always move the goalposts whenever scientists or atheists - or as I like to call them, people smarter than you - present ironclad, damning evidence that boots your invisible sky daddy in his all-powerful ass.
Kind: 4 a: a group united by common traits or interests.
As defined in Websters.
Give me some ironclad evidence then genius. I like how you called yourself smarter than me yet on your channel you make it very clear you as normal as anyone.
But really, what evidence? Last time I check, chaos doesn't produce order, Dogs still gave birth to Dogs, and I still have yet to see something come from nothing. Hmmmmmm, all of that is damning evidence to me that the claims of Evolution are crap.
Fossils of transitional forms, multiple radiometric dating emthods to date them all, comparative biocheistry, comparative embryology, homologous structures, endogenous retroviruses, and observed speciation in our own time, over a span of mere decades.
And since everything else in your comment are starw man arguments, the exact same ignorant ones that creationists like to flash around like it's some badge of honor, I can simply ignore them all.
Add to that the fusion of two great ape chromosomes that is present in human chromosome 2, ring species, and simulations representing how evolution works and creationism gets absolutely blown out of the water; it's only evidence is a 2000 year old book written by scientific illiterates living in the desert. Double owned.
The ape is still an ape and the human is still a human. All these similarities only show that there was a common designers. My evidence is the order and routine of nature. Space expansion, everything seen being made up of things unseen.
Cute with the owned material, you must be megagreys little recess nap time partner
"All these similarities only show that there was a common designers." Fail. I believe the 'same designer, same genes' argument was already debunked, by a CHRISTIAN no less. I'll let you guess which one.
"Cute with the owned material, you must be megagreys little recess nap time partner" And of course, throwing in pointless ad hominems to cover up your utter lack of a convincing argument. Wow, your credibility is growing by the minute....
Common designer? Must have been one hell of a lazy designer too, but then that also explains why he has to rest one day every week despite having infinite power. Only a lazy designer would smudge up the DNA so that we have a chromosome fusion, design our optic nerve to needlessly cross our retina, stupidly make our jaw too small for all of our teeth, and then leave a bunch of junk DNA lying around. Yeah, what an awesome designer you have there. No thanks, I'd rather have a good human engineer.
Order and routine existing is evidence of order and routine existing. The spacetime expansion had to occur for matter to exist, we wouldn't be here to see or discuss the alternative. Both are just properties of the Universe we live in because of the laws present. There may be other universes where the laws are different and spacetime contracts or simply stands still.
As far as seen things being made of unseen things, I don't quite know what you're trying to get at here. Is our lack of microscopic vision your proof that Christianity is correct? Well then my proof that Thor exists is that we can't see ultraviolet light. No comment on the childish quip. Nylon eating bacteria is an example of speciation AND new genetic information. DNA changes can pile up, just like slow erosion can create canyons.
I believe Earth formed from a nebula that contained the elements needed to create the planets of the solar system and supplied with exotic elements from meteor collisions. What do you believe, that an anthromorphic magic being created it 6000 years ago and this being was dumb enough to put a death tree in the garden and apparently design us all so poorly? Then he has the audacity to get pissed because he was too lazy to keep track of us or actually do the job right the first time?
1) Expand into the universe we have today. You do know that the universe is still expanding, right? Very few people will say that the universe came from nothing, but congratulations on continuing to beat that creationist strawman to death. You obviously didn't even read what I said because I never implied that it came from nothing.
In fact the only reference I made that could be construed to have anything to do with the beginning of our universe is: "There may be other universes where the laws are different and spacetime contracts or simply stands still.", which could imply (loosely) that I am talking about our universe coming from a multiverse, which is NOT nothing.
2) Matter cannot come from nothing, but Einstein showed that it can come from energy. Matter has been shown to have a definite beginning, but energy has not, and may well be eternal. Kind of like God, only proven to exist.
3) Okay, so first I'm gay and now I'm stupid? What are you going to call me next, a poopy-head? Grow the fuck up and learn to debate like a man.
We are humans and apes are apes. But we're all hominidae. We're a separate genus. Explain your evidence. I'm confused. Nature shows that survival of the fittest creature in an environment is law. We as humans have terminated several species. Even if you're a YEC, you have to believe this because if you don't, how do you explain Dinosaurs being gone and Dodos? What does Astronomy have to do with Biology?
"what's the observed speciation in our own time?" Podarcis sicula, only the most dramatic example we got.
"Bottom line is that everything keeps the same DNA." Obviously not, since our 46 chromosomes came from the fusion of 2 pairs of the ape's 48. And have you ever heard of MUTATION!?
"Do you believe the earth formed from nothing 6 billion years ago?" You think Earth formed from nothing AND man was created from nonliving matter some 600 years ago, so you're hardly in a position to talk.
The [US] National Centre for Science Education has an excellent web site called Expelled Exposed which comprehensively refutes the lies in Ben Stein's propaganda piece. All 6 scientists Stein interviews range from incompetent to outright liars. The site requires a few minutes to read: after all, real scholarship requires referenced footnotes, and real answers are more complicated than the simplistic fantasy of people like Ben Stein.
Nice job!!! LOL!! Ben Stein is a fucking fool.. In an interview I just watched, he admits that he represents law but does not respect it. Mmmm... Who does this Jewish man think he his? Saul? One thing is true - he will do anything at any cost for a buck. Is that moral integrity or lack thereof?
"The problem is now that we have exposed the Atheist scientists for the frauds that they are, we still need to understand the Biblical model of Creation Theory and make it so that it fits the data" - lol :) yes, crowbar that model and fabricate some data, just make the fucker fit!
ooooh man, sureman1 needs to see the "light" of evolutionary theory...
by the way, i really like your screename ReligionIsACrutch. are you a fan of Christopher Hitchens by any chance? i just finished his book God Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything and i have to say, it opened my eyes which is impressive considering how skeptical i was of religion to begin with.
I love "atheist scientists". I have debated with some fundies who REALLY think scientists have an agenda of being anti-god or anti-religion. I guess when one is so delusional, it doesn't take much for them to add to that delusion.
Pat C. downloaded another great vid. Check it out.
"The reason for the season is the NEED for the Season of Reason." (saxmanchiro)
Of course there's no god, otherwise life would have meaning and purpose. but there isn't so...gee, that means all the above comments are MEANINGLESS??!! O yeah, what WAS that mutation which improves (rather than corrupts) DNA? Mr. Dawkins? Anyone?
There is no such thing as "improved DNA", only DNA that expresses a phenotype better suited for its environment. That has been shown time and time again with the peppered moth, nylon eating bacteria, drug resistant bacteria and so on...
That would be a problem if scientists thought that's how evolution works. Fortunately they don't. Each generation is only slightly different but after a while you have a huge genetic gap with only slight modifications at each step. That is why dogs and wolves can still breed even though they are different species, because they don't have a large enough genetic gap. However horses and donkeys have a larger gap which is why, even though they can still breed, their offspring (mules) are sterile.
What makes you think that the existence of a god/gods gives meaning to life, or that the lack of a god/gods removes meaning? This sounds an AWFUL LOT like the "hitler was a darwinist" bullshit. "Don't understand the differing view? Simply hurl straw men, lies and ad hominems until you're satisfied."
This is an attack on the people who keep the live of creatures like Ben Stein comfy. I wonder how a "religious scientist" may look like. Probably like an inquisitor?
"I wonder how a "religious scientist" may look like."
Probably like this: he has an hypothesis about string beans and the pH of the soil. He does an experiment and he doesn't get the result he wanted. He publishes anyway, claiming God interceded. And since God is inscrutable and we are not allowed to question him, the experiments results are perfectly valid.
I wonder why Expelled didn't go into THAT consequence of their bizarre desires of turning science into JUNK?
the level of ignorance in creationists is staggering, agreeing with the bible literally would make mass murderers out of all of us , just ask george bush, carls sagans pale blue dot, says it all really, if ya want to continue believing in god after watching it, then i reccomend psychiatric counselling.
the bible can give you anything you need to know because someone can write bullshit in it. It can take scientists years of time and work to figure something out because they don't always take the easy way out.
Not that I ever had respect for Ben Stein, but I agree. However I can honestly say I laugh harder when I watch Ferris Bueller's Day Off. When he calls out Buellers name in class just imagine he's saying logic instead.
I think the rating of Expelled on Rotten Tomatoess speaks volumes. Nobody's convinced.

this is the dumbest thing I've ever seen. The LHC won't discover what the bible already has told us. Google "Sunesis Society" High I.Q. for Christians! Smarter than Mensa!
noeatingallowed 3 years ago
"Sunesis Society" has 34 members. Mensa has over 100,000. They aren't smarter than Mensa they just require a higher IQ range for membership. There are other high IQ societies that require higher IQ's even still.
ReligionIsACrutch 3 years ago
Actually, Sunesis doesn't list all of its memebers. And, yes, they are smarter than Mensa.
noeatingallowed 3 years ago
No, there are people in Mensa that also qualify for Sunesis. They only show the minimum requirements. Not the average or maximum. Nice try though.
ReligionIsACrutch 3 years ago
oh, i didn't realize that.

Brilliant!

Hockeygod98 3 years ago
if these transisional forms exist, why don't we see them freely today?
Christians discredit the Evolutionist "transisional forms" b/c everyone of them to this point has been wrong, pieced together to purposefully mislead, or they show dogs still turnign to dogs. I have never seen a fish turn into a human, an ape turn into a human or a tree turn in to a bird.
God is real. Evolution does happen, but with in a Kind, you don't see one kind creating another kind
TheLivingStone7 3 years ago
Evolution doesn't say fish turned into birds or any other crap like that. that's the problem with ID people. They start with a phony claim (that evolution doesn't make), then deconstructs that fabricated argument.
You don't see transitional forms only because you don't want to. They are there, in great number. The ultrareligious simply choose to ignore them and say they 'really aren't transitional forms'. Your entire argument is based on lies, that don't represent the real evidence.
Hockeygod98 3 years ago 3
if these transisional forms exist, why don't we see them freely today?<<
Dude seriously. Are you stupid dude seriously. seriously dude. im serious. every animan alive to day is a transitional form. So thats a lot of transitional forms we see freely. Nature dosnt contend to your notion of half dog half pig. Why should it...
automaticAEV 3 years ago
so Evolution is a systematic evenly distributed act of chance on all living things in existence...
TheLivingStone7 3 years ago
So you think a supreme intelligence can pop out of thin air but you have a problem believing that a single celled organism was created by a chemical reaction? Wow, you're stupid.
ReligionIsACrutch 3 years ago 3
@TheLivingStone7
"its sad when you people think that randomness creates order."
which randomness? evolution by natural selection is NOT random.
your argument fails on all levels.
minderbart1 1 year ago
"God is real. Evolution does happen, but with in a Kind, you don't see one kind creating another kind"
How convenient that creationists never define 'kind' so they can always move the goalposts whenever scientists or atheists - or as I like to call them, people smarter than you - present ironclad, damning evidence that boots your invisible sky daddy in his all-powerful ass.
megagrey 3 years ago
Kind: 4 a: a group united by common traits or interests.
As defined in Websters.
Give me some ironclad evidence then genius. I like how you called yourself smarter than me yet on your channel you make it very clear you as normal as anyone.
But really, what evidence? Last time I check, chaos doesn't produce order, Dogs still gave birth to Dogs, and I still have yet to see something come from nothing. Hmmmmmm, all of that is damning evidence to me that the claims of Evolution are crap.
TheLivingStone7 3 years ago
Fossils of transitional forms, multiple radiometric dating emthods to date them all, comparative biocheistry, comparative embryology, homologous structures, endogenous retroviruses, and observed speciation in our own time, over a span of mere decades.
And since everything else in your comment are starw man arguments, the exact same ignorant ones that creationists like to flash around like it's some badge of honor, I can simply ignore them all.
Owned.
megagrey 3 years ago
Add to that the fusion of two great ape chromosomes that is present in human chromosome 2, ring species, and simulations representing how evolution works and creationism gets absolutely blown out of the water; it's only evidence is a 2000 year old book written by scientific illiterates living in the desert. Double owned.
califoniania 3 years ago
Actually, I kinda lump the ape fusion thing under 'comparative biochemistry', but thanks for going into detail on that.
megagrey 3 years ago
No prob man :)
califoniania 3 years ago
The ape is still an ape and the human is still a human. All these similarities only show that there was a common designers. My evidence is the order and routine of nature. Space expansion, everything seen being made up of things unseen.
Cute with the owned material, you must be megagreys little recess nap time partner
TheLivingStone7 3 years ago
"All these similarities only show that there was a common designers." Fail. I believe the 'same designer, same genes' argument was already debunked, by a CHRISTIAN no less. I'll let you guess which one.
"Cute with the owned material, you must be megagreys little recess nap time partner" And of course, throwing in pointless ad hominems to cover up your utter lack of a convincing argument. Wow, your credibility is growing by the minute....
megagrey 3 years ago
Common designer? Must have been one hell of a lazy designer too, but then that also explains why he has to rest one day every week despite having infinite power. Only a lazy designer would smudge up the DNA so that we have a chromosome fusion, design our optic nerve to needlessly cross our retina, stupidly make our jaw too small for all of our teeth, and then leave a bunch of junk DNA lying around. Yeah, what an awesome designer you have there. No thanks, I'd rather have a good human engineer.
califoniania 3 years ago
Order and routine existing is evidence of order and routine existing. The spacetime expansion had to occur for matter to exist, we wouldn't be here to see or discuss the alternative. Both are just properties of the Universe we live in because of the laws present. There may be other universes where the laws are different and spacetime contracts or simply stands still.
califoniania 3 years ago
As far as seen things being made of unseen things, I don't quite know what you're trying to get at here. Is our lack of microscopic vision your proof that Christianity is correct? Well then my proof that Thor exists is that we can't see ultraviolet light. No comment on the childish quip. Nylon eating bacteria is an example of speciation AND new genetic information. DNA changes can pile up, just like slow erosion can create canyons.
califoniania 3 years ago
I believe Earth formed from a nebula that contained the elements needed to create the planets of the solar system and supplied with exotic elements from meteor collisions. What do you believe, that an anthromorphic magic being created it 6000 years ago and this being was dumb enough to put a death tree in the garden and apparently design us all so poorly? Then he has the audacity to get pissed because he was too lazy to keep track of us or actually do the job right the first time?
califoniania 3 years ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
expand into what? YOU CAN"T SOMETHING FROM NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! why are evolutionists SO STUPID?
TheLivingStone7 3 years ago
1) Expand into the universe we have today. You do know that the universe is still expanding, right? Very few people will say that the universe came from nothing, but congratulations on continuing to beat that creationist strawman to death. You obviously didn't even read what I said because I never implied that it came from nothing.
califoniania 3 years ago
In fact the only reference I made that could be construed to have anything to do with the beginning of our universe is: "There may be other universes where the laws are different and spacetime contracts or simply stands still.", which could imply (loosely) that I am talking about our universe coming from a multiverse, which is NOT nothing.
califoniania 3 years ago
2) Matter cannot come from nothing, but Einstein showed that it can come from energy. Matter has been shown to have a definite beginning, but energy has not, and may well be eternal. Kind of like God, only proven to exist.
3) Okay, so first I'm gay and now I'm stupid? What are you going to call me next, a poopy-head? Grow the fuck up and learn to debate like a man.
califoniania 3 years ago
poopy head! Lol!
vivaramones 3 years ago
We are humans and apes are apes. But we're all hominidae. We're a separate genus. Explain your evidence. I'm confused. Nature shows that survival of the fittest creature in an environment is law. We as humans have terminated several species. Even if you're a YEC, you have to believe this because if you don't, how do you explain Dinosaurs being gone and Dodos? What does Astronomy have to do with Biology?
thismindofmine 3 years ago
Owned? cute bro, what are you 14 years old? what's the observed speciation in our own time? what would that be referring to?
Bottom line is that everything keeps the same DNA. The DNA does not change to the point where it was once a dog now its a cat.
The fact still stands that evolution claims order out of chaos and that does not happen ANYWHERE today.
Do you believe the earth formed from nothing 6 billion years ago?
TheLivingStone7 3 years ago

Of course there's no god, otherwise life would have meaning and purpose. but there isn't so...gee, that means all the above comments are MEANINGLESS??!! O yeah, what WAS that mutation which improves (rather than corrupts) DNA? Mr. Dawkins? Anyone?
shureman1 3 years ago
There is no such thing as "improved DNA", only DNA that expresses a phenotype better suited for its environment. That has been shown time and time again with the peppered moth, nylon eating bacteria, drug resistant bacteria and so on...
ReligionIsACrutch 3 years ago
still, DNA has genetic boundaries which it cannot pass.
a monkey can't give birth to a homo. vice versa.
WitnessofTheHolyOne 3 years ago
That would be a problem if scientists thought that's how evolution works. Fortunately they don't. Each generation is only slightly different but after a while you have a huge genetic gap with only slight modifications at each step. That is why dogs and wolves can still breed even though they are different species, because they don't have a large enough genetic gap. However horses and donkeys have a larger gap which is why, even though they can still breed, their offspring (mules) are sterile.
