  • I am a graduate of Tj . Where is the sound for this? I really would like to hear the commentary.

  • WOW! Someone else who has the same POV as me! Un-freakin-believeable!

You are 110% correct in your assessment. My family moved to The Golden Triangle when I was 9 months old, and until I graduated from TJ in 1978, I spent my entire life there. I am one of those that you name who moved away in order to find a better life because Beaumont and Port Arthur were dying.

The Unions killed The Golden Triangle. Too many workers always on strike. Thank you for seeing it my way...OUR way.

  • It is sad that people in Port Arthur allowed organized labor to gain a stranglehold on the economy of Port Arthur and choke the life out of a beautiful and promising town. Greed of the people resulted in sons and daughters moving far away and seeking a better life. So sad. Since the early fifties Port Arthur began to deteriorate and rot. Many people will deny this because they were a part of it and do not want to accept that they caused it all. Still it is the truth. I saw it.
