  • I remember playing this on my old sony walkman about a million times!

  • numero uno...belllos ojos y super cantante...exquisita...

  • I love this video and i love for voice! Just beautiful :)

  • this is fucking amazing. omg

  • Love it YEAH!

  • my fave lovely livvy song.

  • I was looking at album covers by The Kinks, & the one that Olivia was supposed to mimic was "Low Budget". The cover is of a woman in red heels standing on pavement, & there are cigarette butts on the ground. Olivia's cover (as I posted earlier) was going to be her in the red heels, standing by a grate on the sidewalk, with water about to splash her from a car passing by.All we would see is Olivia from the legs down, & when opened, we would see the rest of her. I MISS ALBUM COVERS...lol

  • olivia je t adore depuis mon enfance...

  • Love John Farrar's guitar work and b.g. vocals on this. He was the mastermind behind most of her success.

  • THERE IS NOT 1 SONG ON THE "PHYSICAL "ALBUM THAT COULDN'T HAVE BEEN A SINGLE....

  • @soulkiss68 I totally agree!!

  • I just remembered an interesting bit of trivia about this song...

Olivia Newton-John's "Physical" album, was ORIGINALLY going to be titled, "Recovery" .

The album cover was going to mimic the cover of one of "The Kinks" album covers.

We would have seen Olivia (with longer hair), standing on a street corner, by a grate, getting water splashed on to her by a vehicle driving by.

When she cut her hair really short, (as we see), MCA (her record lable at the time), quickly changed gears.

  • @adomono Interesting! Do you remember where you heard this? I know that her Soul Kiss album was originally going to be called Queen of the Publication (with Toughen Up as the first single); and The Rumour was going to be Love and Let Live....

  • @adomono I've been an Olivia's die hard fan for ages (literally) and I've just learnt about this trivia on Physical!!! It's just fantastic however funny, since RECOVERY was a cover and not especifically written for her. One more trivia I have: Physical was originally submitted to Spanish Pop Icon Miguel Bose by Steve Kipner (who wrote many hits for him). Miguel thought the seductive lyrics would suit a female voice better, so he turned it down. The rest is history.

  • This song, & Stranger's Touch, are my 2 favorite songs from Olivia's Physical album.

  • @adomono - stranger's touch is a great song i made a video montage tribute to ONJ several years back and it's titled Stranger's Touch.

  • Soooooooooooooooooooo funky....

  • I often wonder if ONJ has ever sung this live, cuz with the layers and layers of harmony, how would it poss?

  • @sgtoca That's what you have backup singers for. Plus, the live version is never the same as the studio version.

  • 1981 is the year this was released.

  • gr8 product...

  • When I was a child I thought that this was what growing up was going to be like, and it turns out that I wasn't very wrong!

  • Pay attention to the bassline - John Farrar was a master of the bassline!

  • Sexy little Aussie!

  • i don't need your sympathy, save all your tears. i've lived without tenderness for so many years. why would i need it now?' great lyrics john, but who are they about? are they about yourself? no, i think you've had tenderness your entire professional career, the same with olivia. no, your writing about me, her wanted-to-be lover. it's been 40+ years w/o tenderness for me. why would i need it now?

  • a song written by her producer, john farar, her svengali

omg, i spent years on bass, i could play ever riff, 6 string bass actually

'don't worry my recovery, cuz lover you won't wake up with me, not yet, it much to early, still have to recover from vertibrae fussion love. my dear one

  • john farah, an absolute genious..'your crazy laughin' never going to get me'

as for me, i took me over 40 years to recovered from sid barret-like damage

oops, this was 'physical'..written after my failure to assimilate on my own

right after 'a little trouble in town' that stevie nicks sang about.

ah, my favorite line 'i don't need your sympathy, save all your tears, i've lived without tenderness for to many years. why would ineed it know?'

  • I love her hair with the headband and all her clothes from this period.

  • this is my fav song but i love the whole cd i still play in my truck everyday i love this woman..................

  • I love this song and olivia is still the best!! love all her movies and songs i have met her in real life! shes so nice and a real sweetheart!

  • @foxychevy2468 Yoou are kidding! You met her.Wow!When was this? You win a radio contest or something.I would like to meet her someday.

  • either this is a Fleetwood Mac "Hold Me" video ripoff or their video ripped this one off...all depends on who did theirs first...am I the only one who is noticing the similarities here people?????!!!!!!

  • @kittenrenea Olivia got there first. 'Recovery' is 1981; 'Hold Me' is 1982. Might be the same director though (Brian Grant)

  • This is my favourite Olivia Newton John, cuz today I played it 15 times. Also am dedicating this song to my friends who failed me, to Bruce, Sharon and Alan.

  • such a great song...I love it and her. I can't imagine anyone remaking it....

  • The entire Physical album played over and over in my bedroom as a teen. The videos were all great to each and every song.

  • man, i love this song ty anmartinc, this song clicked with me when i heard at 8 years old, and i really needed 2 hear it now that i'm older a really great song and i'm sure it would relate 2 alot of us once again ty! :)

  • Love this song!!

  • I remember this TV special too! Yeah, I was about 14 and like all of my friends had a huge crush on her. Funny, I actually live near her now, but have yet to see her.

  • @spewey111

I like the TV special to. I hope they put on DVD with dialog in between.

  • Back in the eighties when you could buy video compilations of music video's I bought this and played it many times.

  • love this song - one of my favourites

  • One of my favorite Olivia songs ever.

  • Fantastic breezy pop from miss Newton John ,still sounds sexy and fresh after all theses years.

  • I remember this TV special! I actually had this on VHS. Hope it gets re-released on DVD format!

The sound is a bit low in volume when it was converted/uploaded

  • @ChynnaDahl All of her videos , including all of the Physical ones are on Video Gold , a compilation of music and clips featuring the singer Olivia Newton-John. They were released on two DVDs separately, but there is one issue that unites the two into one. Ilove watching them over and over again.

  • I remember this track from the age of 14. Saw the video then and never forgot it!

  • I had a very big crush on Olivia when I was in my teens. I think she has one of the most beautiful faces I've ever seen and I absolutely love her voice.

  • Recovery is one of those songs you hear once and never ever forget

  • your mom looks like hillary clinton

  • Hey "FanMS" no wonder you never get laid!! You're blind and stupid!!

  • This is one of my top 5 songs EVER! I love this damn song :)

  • I remember this being part of the "video album" that was "Physical." Think they showed it on tv once; am certain it was available on VHS. I remember being 12 and loving Olivia (still do!!) and all the surreal videos off the album like this one. Am hoping "Landslide" is out there somewhere!

  • I have this on VHS. Very good video

  • You can also get this on Laser Disc! :-D

  • Hah! I was 10 and I remember that show vividly. And yeah, the video for Landslide is of course on youtube. That violin guy gave me nightmares! Heh. God I love the 21st century. I've been wishing I could find Recovery for a while now, and here it is!

  • To that guy who mentioned a similarity to Olivia and Hillary ... ARE YOU NUTS?? Olivia was a fashion model and Hillary is a hood ornament for some old Pontiac.

  • @northwind72000 are u talking about hilary duff???

  • Whenever I get depressed over a breakup or someone I have lost. I put this song on and I make a recovery. LOVE IT.

  • great hidden song on the awesome physical allbum in 1981.memories of third grade and the new york jets sack exchange for me. glad i was able to find this great 80s video and song being the 80s guru i am as iam sedated in this decade and pproud of it. sure there were alot of one hit or album wonders but even todays crap they call music the so called "happening stuff does not even come close, 80s forever baby

  • I am "totally" in agreement with you! I am a die hard 80"s fan I was there! I love everything 80's especially the music and Olivia-Newton-John!

  • 80s are totally awesome. Videos of today suck. And so does the music. At least in the 80s people had imagination and ghetto was not popular.

  • I agree with all of you!!! The music in the past is far much better than the ones today!!! I really want to know what happened to music these days???? Are these people out of their minds??? To like this crap???? We can count on a fingers a song that sounds good today!!! I am glad I was born in time to enjoy the wonderful 80's and all their fabulous divas!!!

  • This was awesome. Thanks for posting.
