  • @mariahandchristina Its a fair chase foxes are clever and often outsmart the dogs.

  • That's a WILD fox? wow, thats just beautiful. Wonderful colorations =D

Greys are supposed to be the shyest and most curious. Just look at the way he gets into everything and sniffs all about XD

  • That's a wild Fox yes? that's just beautiful. What a wonderful little encounter that must have have been.

    playful and infinitely curious =p

my friend always asks me when he says things like this "I can't understand, why people would want to hurt something like that"

  • Are, like, foxes not afraid of people? I see a lot of these wild fox vids, and they're just a-hangin' out in people back yards and what have you, people just walk all up in their faces with their cameras, and all this... I dunno. I'm guessing that they're sensitized to people?

  • Now, can a fox be vaccinated for rabies? I love this. Great video.

  • @bronzesel

I believe they can, as they are each time more common as TAMED pets, and the russians have DOMESTICATED them, there are some vaccines pet foxes take when they're little, I guess one of those is for rabbies

  • really enjoyed this video

  • wou, how di d you breed it?

Iv got 1 i my garden who comes at night near the cats...

  • it's that me or the fox really liked the dog?:P

  • The foxes are a dogs =)

  • you guys cant speak english

  • What...? Why not? x D

  • the foxes are a dogs?

  • Yeah. The foxes are the family of the can cannis... Can cannis= wolfes, dogs, etc... =) right??

  • Foxes and dogs cannot interbreed. They are related, but too distantly related for it to work. Wolves and dogs can because they are subspecies of the same species. (Canis lupis and canis lupis familiarius). They can also breed with coyotes, however, after a few generations coydogs and coywolves are prone to a crapload of genetic disorders, because they are not the same species, just the same the genus (coyotes are canis latrans)

  • so cute

  • Has the fox come back to visit or what?

  • So cute! There aren't a lot of videos of gray foxes that I've found. Thanks for posting this! They're one of my favorite foxes. :)

  • so cute ^_^

  • The fox appears to be exhibiting a neotenic (adult juvenile behavior) begging response. Foxes feed their kits regurgitated meat after returning from a hunt, and the kits stimulate the feeding response in the adults by nosing after their muzzles. Yeah, kinda gross, but it's nature. It's possible the fox hasn't completely let go of that juvenile trait (like a cat which still kneads).

All in all, a very sweet and laid-back fox, and the dog, too. =^[.]^=

  • Dogs and wolves are different subspecies of the same species - canis lupus lupus and canis lupus familiaris.

foxes are not even the same genus - vulpes, rather than canis. They are related to dogs, but by no means closely enough related to crossbreed... a mating might be physically possible but there would be no offspring.

  • Dogs can breed with coyotes and golden jackals, as well as Ethiopian and red wolves. Dingoes are the same species as dogs and wolves.

This species of fox isn't a Vulpes fox. It is a very ancient species native to the Americas.

  • i geuss the fox is not scared of the dog bechaus it almost even littel as him

  • they can interbreed all dogs can. Wolves coyotes, etc

  • ah she/he is a lovely grey fox. they are pretty rare now and they can climb trees!

  • Not sure I'd consider them to be rare as they are the 2nd most common type of fox in the US. First being the red fox, and third being the swift fox. Gray foxes are the only canine with retractable claws like cats have. And to comment on the previous posts, a fox is still a fox even if it's a vixen. A male fox is referred to as a dog fox or in some places a renard, a tod, or a vix. Fox mating occurs between the months of February and April. Courtship begins in Fall and goes through Winter.

  • oops sorry, i ment that in ENGLAND they are pretty rare here. soz for the mix up!

  • Gray foxes are an entirely different species. They are considered one of the oldest species of wild dog, and they aren't really that closely related to the other species of true fox in North America or Eurasia or the so-called South American foxes, which are actually more closely related to dogs and wolves than the true foxes.

  • are there any greys in england? i'm english and i have been watching foxes all my life and i have never seen a grey fox before why are they so rare? this one looks like its got some red fox in its blood...

  • Gray foxes only live in North America, Canada, and some parts of South America. Most gray foxes ave some red fur in their coats. They can't interbreed with red foxes (or dogs, wolves, dingos, etc). They can only breed with other grays and the island fox on the Channel Islands.

  • Thank you.. my friend say's he saw one in bradford.. i guess he must have been mistaken thanks for the info that was intresting! ♡♡

  • You're welcome. :) Sometimes red foxes can be other colors -silver, black, white, etc. The key is to look at the tip of the tail. If it's white, it is a red fox.

  • Wow! I didn't know you saw this video either! This was the first pet fox video I ever saw!!! O =

  • Your a idiot! Foxes don't inter bread so it wont go for a dog for sex but another fox. Dummy.

  • I hate to tell you this but you're the one who is wrong. Foxes, actually ANY wild animal, will breed with another animal similar to itself. Since they are close in resemblance they can and might breed. Wolves have been known to often mate with domestic dogs in the north, ask anyone who lives in Alaska and they can tell you. Nothing is impossible. I'd double check your facts next time before posting.

  • I guarantee you that this species of fox will not cross with a dog. It won't even cross with the red fox that it shares its territory with. Just do a google search for Tree fox or North American gray fox and learn about its natural history. It's not related to any living dogs, except for its island variant which lives on the Channel Islands of California. Also, check out my post on Chihuahua origins: google "Crazy Theory on Chihahua origins" and "retrieverman."

  • de de da dee

nothing is better than loads of unwanted puppies dying in shelters....tool

  • lol, control your animals people and u won't have the problems we face today, better yet just cull some humans :)

  • XD roflz @ this small chain of comments.

  • lol dumb

  • so cutee <3

(my lil bro says FOX RULEZ!)

    (my bros 7)

  • they do rule XD

  • Wow, it's cleaning the dog's ears and everything...

You would almost say that they grew up together or something, really cute and cool.

  • you wouldnt have thought those two animals could be friends!!! cute...

  • can i please have him

  • it's so cute! I love foxes!!!

  • You raised it!

  • waaa!how cute! It's incredible that the fox it's not domesticated...it seems the opposite...I like it!

  • If you love foxes (and animals), you must watch "renard 2" on Youtube. It's beautifuls pictures about red foxes with a beautiful music.

  • It does seem very tame. o_o It could be someone's lost pet.

  • I just added this as a favorite.....you are right, super cute video! Is that a wild grey fox (not a pet)? Lovely! Hope you can post some more videos of the two together like that.

  • Yeah, he's a wild one alright, albeit very sweet. So far he's visited us about three times, mostly with the other neighborhood dogs. We haven't seen him since November, but we're hopeful that he'll remember where we live :)

  • It is a great video...grey foxes are very beautiful wild foxes. He/she looks so healthy and happy and friendly too. He/she might be working on a den now, and on the prowl for a mate! Hope you have some more encounters with the little grey fox again....would love to see more clips.

  • I definitely agree with the beautiful part...

  • aw how cute, what if they mate! :O

  • The mating between these two would be unsuccessful [provided both weren't sterile etc] - they're too distantly related, the dog as Canis familiaris and gray fox Urocyon cinereoargenteus... the chromosome numbers are different... but that the situation is different when it comes to wolves & coyotes and domestic dogs!

  • This is almost Disney territory - Fox and Hound!

  • Its amazing how happy they are together! Our fox loves our dogs but he was brought up with them.

  • cool
