Ok, I have a weird question. One pc which I bought years ago with dual core 2,4 GHz was not capable to run many programs because the cpu usage was high (50-90%). I had no trojans, viruses etc in my harddrive. So I bought a new cpu 3.0 GHz dual core with 6 mb cache, but haven't installed it yet. One dude said that if I installed the new cpu ít wouldn't make my computer run smoother and that the cpu wouldn't do any difference at all. Is he right?

you can use every i3 wich doesn no have a higher TDP than 35 W and have a PGA988 socket

so it should be possible to use any i3 from i3-330M up to i3-390M, those have all not more than 35W TDP and the PGA988 Socket.... so you stay in the same heat range than your p6100

Whats ironic the 3100/5100 from the same company it's four screws to get the cpu access cover off.

The ram and wireless are also under said cover you don't have to disturb anything else.

Then 5 screws to get the heat pipe and fan.

I put a turion in one one and it took five minutes.

hy, if i remember right the c1541 has a Intel Celeron 530 with 1,73ghz andt its a merom core cpu with socket M ;) as i know they sold it in netherlands at mediamarkt. sure you can change the cpu !!! you can take one of the following core2duo cpus - T7200: 2,00 GHz - T7400: 2,16 GHz - T7600: 2,33 GHz

Good processor choice. Whether you knew it or not, for overclocking. The Overclocking World Record Database has people overclocking that processor up to as high as 3.8GHz lol. I think you're already happy with the performance boost though. I'm sure you wouldn't want to deal with all the extra cooling anyway, regardless thats a great OCing margin.

its easy to change the cpu !!! but theres a prob, the heatpipe is only for maximum 25tdp cpus the fastest one wich this heatpipe can handle is a 2x 2.53ghz cpu (P9500)

I recently changed my CPU on an acer aspire 3690. Took me 7min, cause all I had to do was remove the cover in the back, remove the heatsink and the fan, and replace the processor. Went From Celeron M to 1.6 Core Duo 2060. All for 19$

ya newer acers have simply a cover on the backside so you can reach the cpu without any problems. your 3690 have a 943GML chipset so a cpu change to a core duo is no problem because its supported by the chipset ;)

I have just installed a Pentium M 740 on my Acer Aspire 3610 and it's working with no problems.

I have doubled my laptop's CPU power with just 20 Euros. Well that's a bargain!

800mhz with 0,700 volt

2130mhz with 1,148 volt

nicely undervolted

the fastest you can get is a pentium M 780 but hard to become !!!

or you use a pentium M 735 (hard to get one lately) and do a pinmod, then you also have the power of the pentium m780

i have a pentium m735 here, maybe i will do this next time and post again a vid here where you can see how to do it :-)

if it is an intel cpu and its overheating it downclocks automaticaly, it means the system is going slower and slower but it works !

AMD CPUs didnt have this function built in but most of the motherboards have the function in the bios supported !!

if you get bluescreens all the time theres something wrong with the hardware !!

you should use software like (notebookhardwarecontrol (intel cpu) , CPU rightmark (intel & AMD CPU ) , to see the CPU temperature and thermal state of the CPU!!!

1:) it sounds like your cpu have to low voltage

2:) maybe your cpu is overheating but normaly a intel pentium have a function wich throttles the speed when it beginns to overheat

check the cpu voltage first, then check the cpu cooler, clean it and check if it is right on the cpu
