Don't get me wrong. I love Ron Paul.
Unfornately, if he follows through with his plan to eliminate the IRS and pull back half a million troops from all foreign bases, that's alot of jobs that will be lost.
It will likely leave alot of people un-employed when the economy would rely on spending without income tax.
Maybe that saved money would be used to increase american savings and then investments. That could have a positive effect on 'productive' job growth.
And the troops, Instead of maintaining bases you could use the resources to improve infrastructure, health care etc. That would create jobs lost in the 'foreing bases industry'
I think what would help for jobs would be trying to keep manufacturing jobs in your own country, instead of occupying the world and importing everything.
Well, the troops would be still employed they would just be protecting us within our borders. As far as shutting down the IRS, it is not going to happen overnight but over a period of years. When we outsource our jobs overseas thousands of people lose their job overnight and that is much worse.
Yes, many accountants, IRS workers, etc. will be out of jobs, but that money doesn't just go into a black hole. It is freed up for capital investment/job creation in sectors that will actually enhance our nation's standard of living. The notion that war is good for the economy is false. Capital investment is good for the economy. War is consumption/debt, which is the very achilles heel of our economy as it is. War (and the taxes that pay for them)is good for the bankers, not the economy.

I like Ron Paul and I think he is a very honest and honorable man. However he doesn't believe in evolution and that means that there is something seriously wrong with his judgment. Bush is a case in point. Furthermore if you believe that it is unnecessary for the President to be ignorant of even the most basic aspects of science, then I think you are part of the problem.
Well all the candidates are christians, so if any of them say they do believe in evolution there will be some other scientific question like virgin births or some shit that they believe in. I thought Ron Paul's response to evolution question was intellectually honest, appropriate and somewhat bold in being honest.

I wish voting would be fair tomorrow, but I know:
1) Iowa has a history of fraudulent vote counts, especially the GOP.
2) Ron Paul has more support from soldiers overseas than other GOP candidates combined, but they aren't allowed to vote.
3) In Democratic caucuses you won't be able to know the vote totals for certain candidates.
4) In GOP caucuses they may not even announce how many votes each candidate received.
I wish it were fair, but I'm fearful it won't.

pepsimilk, if you mean his voice in this video is creepy, that's not his voice! The tape had a problem and it did something really bizarre to the audio in the room (you can hear it when the audience cheers, too). Check out any other RP video and you'll hear what he actually sounds like.
If you mean his real voice is creepy, well, can't help you there. If that's how you pick your president, I hope you take your other decisions in life more seriously.

Don't get me wrong. I love Ron Paul.
Unfornately, if he follows through with his plan to eliminate the IRS and pull back half a million troops from all foreign bases, that's alot of jobs that will be lost.
It will likely leave alot of people un-employed when the economy would rely on spending without income tax.

Maybe that saved money would be used to increase american savings and then investments. That could have a positive effect on 'productive' job growth.
And the troops, Instead of maintaining bases you could use the resources to improve infrastructure, health care etc. That would create jobs lost in the 'foreing bases industry'

I think what would help for jobs would be trying to keep manufacturing jobs in your own country, instead of occupying the world and importing everything.

Well, the troops would be still employed they would just be protecting us within our borders. As far as shutting down the IRS, it is not going to happen overnight but over a period of years. When we outsource our jobs overseas thousands of people lose their job overnight and that is much worse.

Yes, many accountants, IRS workers, etc. will be out of jobs, but that money doesn't just go into a black hole. It is freed up for capital investment/job creation in sectors that will actually enhance our nation's standard of living. The notion that war is good for the economy is false. Capital investment is good for the economy. War is consumption/debt, which is the very achilles heel of our economy as it is. War (and the taxes that pay for them)is good for the bankers, not the economy.

The health care in this country is going down hill. Dr. Paul has once to talk about the shortage of nurses in this country. The fact is that it is getting worse and Hillary stated that the reason health care cost so much is that nurses make to much money. We are going to need real leadership to have change in this country

I like Ron Paul and I think he is a very honest and honorable man. However he doesn't believe in evolution and that means that there is something seriously wrong with his judgment. Bush is a case in point. Furthermore if you believe that it is unnecessary for the President to be ignorant of even the most basic aspects of science, then I think you are part of the problem.

Well all the candidates are christians, so if any of them say they do believe in evolution there will be some other scientific question like virgin births or some shit that they believe in. At least Ron Paul is open about it and we all know it won't affect his policies because he has been consistent for 30 years and we all know exactly where he stands.

Ron Paul does not reject the idea of revolution. Despite countless evidences for evolution, still there're "missing links" remaining, making evolutionism still the theory. Ron Paul's position on evolution is completely scientific and legitimate for he cannot prove the theory of evolution nor the creationism. He remains open to both ideas as we all should be. I thought Ron Paul's response to evolution question was intellectually honest, appropriate and somewhat bold in being honest.
