@doublemandala Lorne Greene played a Transylvanial local who thought the whole event happening a Dracula's castle was blasphemous. I remember at the end of the episode, one of the boys sees a mirror as Greene's character passes by, and he has no reflection.
Where on earth did you find this clip? This is AWESOME. I've always loved Phantom - had no idea Williams ever performed this song on television. What a great surprise to find this. A million thanks for posting it.
Check it out - right at the end of the video... the fella that says "We're playing here...we're the circus".... is none other than Elton John's lyricist BERNIE TAUPIN
i got this from an IMDB link. Amazing, thanks to illjoyk. What an awesome musician Paul Williams is... Phantoms's soundtrack is really different from most of his work, and both things are great. And what is year is this? 1978? Don't you love this reckless seventies fun? :)
And I thought they smoked pot in the 70s! You'd need to use a shopvac for a bong to enjoy this fuckin' party. They could have at least got the extras stoned before they filmed this scene. It would have come across as more natural.
You have to consider the context of pop culture in the 70s, and view stuff like this through that prism. He's still brilliant. Great actor and musician.
This was the first time I ever saw Paul Wiliams on TV I was 4 or 5 at the time and he really and his laugh really scared me! Now I just think he's cool!
all i know is that the trailer for that season is like a miami vice fading colors intro with only the hardy boys. if so too bad. Anyone remember Nancy's red-headed friend, George? She always played dumb but boy would i love to find her today and slap her on the ass. Sa-Sa.
I have it too (box set Season 2 - and Season 1) and my boys luv it! Even my 3 year old daughter has her own march she does in the living room when she hears the intro/theme song. Can't wait when is Season 3 (the last?) coming on DVD??
they released it on DVD awhile back, it's in the second season of the obvious show. I know because I was thinking of buying, JUST for this clip... (evil laugh issues) but it looks like I don't have to. Yay.
What a nicely despairing song... :(

@HushOnHellsHorizon Yeah... If I'm not misinformed this was made 1977. Phantom was made 1974. And happens to be my favorite movie.

Yes, he is really brilliant, especially when he puts on the fangs and cackles with laughter.
On a side note, Commander Adama sure looks pissed off...guess he didn't get the memo that it was a halloween party in June...
