  • this permormance was just perfect

  • mind blown @ 9:36

  • Ian so great in both DP and Black Sabbath.

  • PART2. As it passes over me and my Bro I reach for and grab the strap. The body is grabbed by somebody. FREE BALL! I pull HARD!!! I (we) leave with Blackmore's Strat!!! Still have it. The end.

  • @IAmBuckYouAreNot Sound incredible, but 3 strats at once? I doubt that.

  • Chicago , 74 maybe. Deep Purple on stage. Me in the 4th row. Blackmore "playing" 3 Strats at once during Smoke on the Water. (2 Strats on the stage that he's sliding up and down, 1 that he's playing) As the song ends, he SMASHES THE SHIT out of the Strat he's holding, kicks the neck into the 1st row & tosses the body into the audience. PART 1.

  • four bands I'll never get tired of seeing clips of:

    Led Zeppelin c 1969/70

    The Who c 1969/70

    Rainbow c1977

    Deep Purple c1972/73

all louder than a Jumbo jet and heavier than a planet....a fookin amazing era for rock

  • 2:35 nacho libre??

  • @MatzBrazuk haha awesome observation man ! That is so NACHO LIBRE !

  • Ian paice is the true deep purple member, he did never left the band!

  • brilliant stuff from jon lord....ian well ian is awesome...blackmore is fucking great...and roger...man way to hold it down!!!!!! love deep purple!!

  • just...love roger's moves...

    you're welcome

  • Deep Purple is the shit! Man I would love to collect there live cd's and dvd's if anyone has any contact me! I have over 2000 assorrted bands on cd and dvd live!

  • Let's see how many people here can tell the as$%^$es at the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame to F.O.!!!!!

  • Ian Paice is a bad mother fucker.

  • The BEST DRUMMER IN THE HISTORY OF ROCK.

  • que grande por favor!!!

  • Shame the classic MK2 lineup was no more shortly after this performance. Who Do We Think We Are was a so so album imo (with the exception of Woman From Tokyo) but the band were still phenomenal live. Great stuff!!!

    Cheers for posting.

  • Thank You cameraman for getting the bouncing boobs from many angles.

  • @Shortchecker Ha ha, yes indeed. The camerman was certainly keeping abreast of things.

  • In what planet i'm today where is the music ....

Now a days we only have comercial noise, that make children more stupid

  • Gillan was looking so depressed here ...

  • 9:00 I thought that was a man :)

  • That was amazing...

  • this is the most incredible live footage of purple....where can i get more?

  • Kewlbreez77 you are correct about Ian Paice, far as I'am concerned he's right at the top of the list.

  • Way to hit that note Jon @ 7:21...

  • EVERYBODY ARE SO FUCKING EXCITED!!!!!

  • I was only 9 in '73 But I KNEW this was THE SHIT !!! Ritchie RULED !!!

  • 6:58 Most ROCK "rock pose" ever.

  • 2:34 LOL DANCE

  • Oh no, poor Stratocaster!!!

  • isso é lsd puro !!!!!!!!! uiuuuuhhhhhhaaaaaaaa

  • @ucazzin AHAHAHAH pode crê

  • the whole member of this band is fucking insane!

  • This is one of my favorites. It shows hoe much they are better as a live band. The studio recording doesn't come close. These guys worked for a living!!

  • @esykes818 couldn't agree with you more! Made in Japan is amazing

  • Blackmore pissed off ? xD

  • they were all high!

  • @chrisg20x No, you are. When you are abusing drugs and/or alcohol, you see, say, and do stupid things.

Don't try to cut your penis off and build a butter-baby out of it. Because it won't work. You need to seek help in treatment.

  • @Ariel62073 I wasn't high when I wrote that comment Im straight edge and vegan ;) relax man. I said that because in the 60's and 70's was normal to see people smoking weed in rock concerts.

  • @chrisg20x I am not high either. I think it is a pitiful waste of time, a perpetual living-suffering lifedeath. I am glad you aren't high, partner. Don't forget that animals are wonderful. I won't either. Sweden makes us kind.

  • @chrisg20x I wouldn't advocate for any drugs at all. but i've no doubt that it's better to get weed-stoned on Deep Purple or Rolling Stones concert, than to get Xtasy-trashed on tasteless and senseless crap that they play on discos nowadays...

  • @BlackCrowNavajo totally agree man :D

  • How great is this...Just so amazing to watch them! Its a beautiful thing....Ritchie at 2:19...just love it all.......a concert in my bedroom lol unbelievable......

  • HOLY GEEEZUS, these guys are way too good for this planet!!

  • 04:02 Buffalo Bill in silence of the lambs lol :D - LOVE DEEP PURPLE - MY FAVOURITE BAND!

  • In a battle between Purple and Zep in a live performance, I would have to say Purple would win. And Paice as drummer was most underrated. He kept up pace with Lord all the way (!)

  • @KhorvashVazraka I love Deep Purple and all but better than Zepp in their prime?? Don't think so..

  • @jamest19671

Saw them BOTH live...And I have to say that Purple and Zep in back-to-back performances, Purple would definintely get the edge. Zep never had the keyboardist that Lord was...And that was the edge. And Blackmore was just a little more crazy than Page.

  • JON FUCKIN LORD! xD

  • heroes of mine, along with the who, floyd, stones, sabbath, led zep,dr feelgood, family,i could go on and on,truly british rock sound, love it,great great days

  • Was that Napoleon Dynamite at 1:17?

  • awkward boner is right..Looking at a couple sexy ass'd woman in the audience knowing they were stoned on acid wanting to get laid..then realizing they are 65 yrs old now....lol

  • Ian Gillan was the best vocalist back in the 70's...not to mention the best looking. wow...drool...

  • LOL Jon Lord at the end.. He is in Love <3

  • when we were kids , we thought they were saying 'space turkey ~ :o)

  • High-powered rock dimension, pure burst of adrenaline, professional musical interpretation, legendary showmanship of epic proportions. Those were the golden days savoured by all (real) hard-rockers - never a dull moment: Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, and the list can go on and on.

  • Man Ian's looks CHANGED in just one year

  • Ian Paice does NOT get enough credit as a fantastic rock drummer....; 5 people are permanently lost in space

  • i want a concert where all the members of purple touring toghether...i know Coverdale is busy with Whitesnake, Ritchie and Gillan has a problem, and his touring with his wife, Rod Evans his location is unknown, all i know is Nick Simper wants to do this kinda concert, if Jon Lord, Ian Paice, and Blackmore have the balls to ask him, Glenn busy with BCC, and RIP Tommy Bolin

  • Deep Purple ROCKS HARD!!

  • Fantastic Jon "The Maestro" Lord!

  • hey the dislike button does not work to download the song

el boton de no me gusta no sirve para bajar la cancion!

  • i want his hair at 1:17

  • This song video was made the same year that I graduated from get high school. Liked the music back then and still do today and this song was off their best LP they ever put out. People are still trying to learn to play gee-tar starting out with smoke on the water.

  • 4 people Glenn, David, Rod, Nick

  • lol @ 4 dislikes...some peoples kids.

  • fucking awesomeee....pure rock

  • You gotta love the way he beats the living SHIT out of that old Hammond !!!

  • fuckin blew the amp

  • TESLA does an awesome version of this from their Reel to Real album ..

  • geniales, con esta banda se creo el heavymetal y con ellos se termina, no hay mas.

  • I want that ring modulator! They don't make them no more.

  • jon lord rulez!!

  • Inesquecíveis. The best of rock!!!!!

  • Now that's a keyboard solo. "Man those cats can really swing"!! AMAZING

I feel very fortunate to have seen them live. Can't they do a wheelchairs and walkers tour like everybody else????Please?

  • @plarsno They are going to do a Smoke Over Canada tour next year

  • awesome show definitely ..

  • DP mark 2 created their own genre, not style but an entire genre of which only they played. It could be called: HARD rhythm and symphonidelic jazz ROCK. when these five were together it was pure magic. all the songs were group compositions. they were each the best at what they did.

  • The musicians these guys are! Man!

  • omG! my high school years are coming back to me now :)

  • lord made that keyboard/organ his bitch!!!

  • guy at 4:03 rockin' out, coool!

  • And that's how the Space Shuttle program was born.

  • Amazing... this video is solid gold.......... This is real and pure Rock... all of them are real masters.........

  • I respect the man at 4:04

  • Axl Rose is sure to be inspired by Ian Gilan.

  • It's nice seeing a keyboardist who wears a jean jacket and not a cape.

  • An amazing band! So glad to have access to these great videos.

  • ha ha I just fegured out why shay carl was about to jump on me woooooooooooo he was not alive at this time. u can piss off sahy

  • i wonder how many poor stratocasters blackmore goes through and destroyed lol

  • Stop getting shots of the cone boobs without a bra.. I have such an awkward boner

  • @MyThickie Me too. Even though all those gals are probably great grandmothers by now.

  • @MyThickie Y was not born yet :))))

  • YES! I got the 1000th like! :)

  • Deep purple real hard and heavy rock and roll...the band!!!

  • "Take it easy!"

  • Those were the days! They were the "BAND" man!

  • excelentes músicos

    !

  • This must be the original band because they know what they are doing. Every piece "fits" exactly the way it's supposed to. The new members will never regain the popularity the original band had. The singer was highly motivated. He got the crowd to do anything to get with the spirit. Great stuff!

  • I spy shaycarls wife at 2:00

  • Best screamer ever ===> IAN GILLIAN <===

  • the asian kid at 9:08. deep purple is like porn to them for some reason. and i mean no disrespect to the people of asia or their fine cuisine. just pointing something out.

  • OUT OF SIGHT!!!

  • never was a fan of keyboards until i heard jon lord, he's still one of the only one's i like and the best keyboard player of all time

  • @cuthulhu6708 Do you like Pink Floyd? Richard Wright was an amazing musician.

  • clasick---

  • Thumbs up for cowbell!

  • The guy's do at 1:18 is fucking classic.

  • I think they are all playing very good at this show, but at the same time you can tell that they are tired. Some of that Hammond B3 rocking and guitar trashing seem to go on autopilot. This was the end of the first period of the classic Mark 2 period and they had been playing like 200 shows a year for the past 4-5 years.

  • @Polsebrodify I saw them about two months before this in Brussels, and they seemed less tired at that time. I think it was just fatigue from so long on the road.

  • I love gillans vocals on here..and lords organ playing (out of this world!! probably one of the best i've ever seen him play!) hell this whole performance was amazing!!! wish I could of lived back than

  • I wish they release all of this complete show along with the full complete b&w

'72 Colpehagine,Denmark show in real full complete dvd video. The only put

some of the '72 Demnark and few songs from RadioCity Music Hall-NY,NY '73

on dvd video some years back ago.But their millions of loyal fans want bolth

full complete shows on a 2dvd video BoxSet.

  • @zisoul The complete footage of the concert has been lost, and they didnt know anything about it except that abc maybe erased it, only this 20 minute edit exists...

  • The california jam version of this is awesome!! Ritchie destroys 3 guitars, damages 1, and blows up a full stack oh marshall cabinets and throws them into the stand!!!

  • Wow. Two Fender Strats destroyed in that one song. That is unheard of these days. I bet those strats are worth a fortune now.

  • Thumbs up if you wish you were alive then...

  • @ZakkHendrix666

You ain't kiddin' pal . I'd kill to have been able to see The Allman Brothers Band w/ Duane & Berry . I was born in '72 .

  • I have to agree....Ian is an underrated drummer.....as was the whole band in these formative years...........

  • Saw them in 73, and MK4 in 75. This was Rock n fuckin Roll kiddies.

  • is that Blackmore smiling? WTF?

  • RAP IS DEAD

  • i was born in the wrong year

  • Jon Lord. The first time I have seen a keyboard played with the showmanship of a guitar.Wow, duct tape.

  • JON LORD FOR MAYOR!

  • There's nothing like listening to/watching some early DP at 6 a.m. Mon. morning. Wakes you up!

  • @jnalbach She must be standing on her chair. If I were behind her, I'd want to yank her down by her hair! That's how I feel toward rude people at concerts (also, I'm very short!)

  • This is fucking insane man... BRAINFUCK!!!!

  • Whats the effect that Lord has on top of his B3?

  • If Blackmore didn't ream his guitar tech a new asshole, punch his lights out THEN fire him for handing him an out of tune guitar- he's a better man than I!

  • What Voice!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the camera loves that chick with the huge tits

  • In this video for first time of my life i saw Ritchie laughing!!

  • @cakodeeppurple xaaxxa

  • I LOVE THIS BAND!! Love the antique keyboards, too (and the duct tape attaching them). Ian Paice is a machine, no doubt. Better than Peart?...I don't know about that, he stands alone. It would be interesting to see a drum-off, though.

  • This is the best line-up,oh yeah

  • I'm going to take a guess at the venue & say it's the Academy of Music...

  • @stirlwm it's a college in new york lol

  • I want the whole fuckin' show! I hate the cuts!

  • In terms of pure technique, Ian Paice is best rock drummer ever - If Buddy Rich played in a rock band, this is what he'd sound like.

  • way to rock a keyboard Jon...and wow I was 10 years old and listening to these guys album's, thanks to my older brother's great taste in Music..haha

  • Jon Lord...Damn.

  • Ian Paice is BETTER than Neil Peart!!

  • @jeffreygaudreault Ian paice and John Bonham 2 best drummers ever and always will be ;)

  • @jeffreygaudreault different style

  • @jeffreygaudreault: mmmhhhhhhhh Not Really.

  • @jeffreygaudreault Hell Yeah brother!

  • @jeffreygaudreault Harrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrdly

  • imagine if they had saved the other songs from this show. and the rory gallagher performance too. they erased it. these camera men at least knew how to shoot.

  • @alcosboys That's fuckin' ace!! hahahahha!!

  • I wish I could go in a time machine. The band is on the money, the fans our enjoying themselves, just having fun, not throwing stuff at the stage.people who have ever thrown crap at the band should rot in hell. Ian gillin voice is powerful and clear -

  • blowing minds since the dawn of hard rock

  • WE WANT BACK DEEP PURPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!
