I loved the tutorial and have made my own bug, very easy to follow....but you left me hanging. I now have an svg file but what next? I exported it as a bitmap and then reimported into Inkscape 0.48 to see what would happen. I did a trace and got very poor results, making me think there is a step missing.
Will there be a followup video on NOW WHAT can I do with this. I was hoping to create some images to share, but make it possible to be traced in Inkscape for someone else to adapt.
After you export the file as a bitmap, it can be uploaded to a website, inserted into a Word document, etc. You can use it any way that you would use any image. If you want to give it to someone so that they can modify it, then give them the svg file. The only time that you should need to trace an image is when you don't have the svg file.
Thank you so much! I have never used Inkscape before. I am trying to get to know it a bit for use with a digital die cutting machine. I have used Photoshop quite a bit - LOVED my little bug when I got it done. (Even though it is PINK and does not look quite as good as yours! Except the part that it is PINK! That looks GREAT!! :) ) You are a wonderful teacher. Thanks!!!!
Excellent video because the pace is just right and it covers a number of techniques which can be used on a number of projects. Thank you for this. Regards, Davina
Great tutorial. The only trouble I had was the gradient on the hilite of the eye did not move along with the group, I had to relocate it manually for some strange reason.
I really appreciate the Inkscape videos. Have such a desire to make computer art...just didn't understand the process until I found your videos. Thank you so much.
Your tutorials are fantastic! Easy to understand and follow along. I'm new to Inkscape and have learned so much from watching them. Lots of things in your tutorials that I can apply to other projects. Thank you!
At last.....a video with good explanations and not just one of those... "oh look how good I can speed draw using inkscape...now go and fathom it out for yourself!" videos, that I've been coming across all day.
I'm off to draw and watch at the same time to get a feel for the controls.
Hi, thanks for the very quick reply. I figured out a way to get it done.
Love all you do.
Thanks
