  • This brings back very treasured memories of my first visit - 1994... have loved this ride since..... so sad it left..

  • Everytime me and folks get off the ride we always go back on it.

  • Was there a Breezeway lane for Diamond, Platinum, and Gold Medallion members?

  • Cool idea they just didnt devolp it well like the river of time

  • The speed tunnel was also used for Buzzlight Year Space Ranger Spin

  • I used to really lose my shit in the speed tunnel. It was just mind blowing for a kid my age.

  • Old WDW was so much better than new WDW. Even so, this ride just wasn't that good.

  • @Fugsy07 People are blinded by nostalgia.

  • Was this ever sponsored by Pan Am?

  • It never had a line and was air conditioned. RIP Dreamflight.

  • It was all based around "great big beautiful tomorrow"...from the carousel of progress...

I miss them too, Horizens was to be "chapter 2" from the carousel...one lasted, one didn't. Space is all nice and good, but I miss horizens.

  • my favorite magic kingdom ride ever !...right up there with epcot's Horizons and World Of Motion :o)

  • i looved this ride and miss it very much!

  • classic. What I will remember the most about rides like this is the smell. very sterile and new age smell lol..

  • wasn't this ride sponsored by the old Eastern airlines back in the 80's?My first time to WDW was in 1986 and for some reason,I seem to remember this ride being sponsored by eatern airlines that of course is now out of business.Am I right or wrong? Thanks for any help and info.

  • @thecoolestdad yes, was Eastern, the wings of man

  • @thecoolestdad Yes - "if you had wings" - but the show scenes were very different.

  • I always wanted to get off the ride and have a seat in that dinner cabin

  • There are definitely some good deals at the moment, I picked up a lot of info from bestvaluethemeparks (.) com

  • 1:04 I hear whistling... Someone knows this music too well!

  • Good memories. I accept things have to move on but I feel that Tomorrowland has just become a futuristic version of Fantasyland.

  • Haven't seen this for many many years. Thank-you.

  • gah! This was my FAVORITE ride at disneyworld when i was little...stupid people had to take it away and but buzz lightyear there :( This was so much better

  • I still curse the day Disney removed this ride, it was one of my all times favorites. This will always live on in my mind, thanks for this video!

  • I remember going on this ride when i was 5 we had season passes to disney i loved this ride , I now work for Delta air Lines .

  • This was taken by Buzz Lightyear? And did the people mover go inside this ride like they do in Buzz?

  • Dude, I used to ride this repeatedly! my dad and bro would go to Space Mountain, while my mom and I just rode and rode and rode this in the meantime.

  • This attraction was a favorite in my childhood. Thank you for allowing me to relive my memories.

  • vfxpro this is a great video. You even have the awesome entrance and queue area for this ride. Please don't ever erase this video.

  • While I like Buzz..this ride was like a perfect way to begin my day at Disney because to me, I used my imagination and it had that Disney "magic" on the attraction. Imagine watching the wing walker or the outer-space scene in HDTV! lol Thanks for putting this up for us.

  • I used to love this ride!

  • Ah this brings back memories. Early 90s this was one of my favorites when I was kid.

  • Funny with that whistling during the music. This was always my favorite ride

  • Makes me sad i rember this was my fave ride when i was like 6. my parents took me on it again and again. Now its gone :(

  • i remember this!

  • anyone know where i can get the soundtrack? personally, i think the songs are a big improvement over if you had wings.

  • god i miss this fuckin ride....if i knew of anywhere that had memoribilia from it, id buy it in a fuckin second

  • I was pretty young when I rode this back in the mid-nineties. I am unsure as to wether or not they had a gift shop of any sort...As I remember it, the ride was very Peter Pan's Flight-esque sans Fantasyland buit far better.

  • Thanks for the post! This really takes me back. I wanted my wife to see it but it was long gone when we went back :(

  • wow, that was just not funny.....wat a dick.

  • i loved this ride

  • I LOVED THIS RIDE must have road it 50 times....never a line....But I do love the Buzz LightYear ride to cant wait to go next year

  • this blows buzz lightyear out the fuckin water

  • what ride is this now?

  • This was replaced with Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger's Spin.

While I miss these old rides, I love the new. I loved dreaming of flying off too far away places, and now I enjoy trying to beat my hubby's score without out doing my son lol.

  • I'm with you! We used to ride this for the short line (no line, usually), the A/C, and the relaxing nature of it. I liked it a lot, but Buzz Lightyear is a blast.

What I hate is when they replace a classic with something that falls short of the greatness of the original. I used to LOVE the World of Motion attraction, and I've never thought the replacing attraction, Test Track, was as good as it was intended to be. Oh well! You win some, you lose some!

  • The part with the bright light and the huge screen used to startle me.

  • I don't remember how many times I rode this way back in 1991, though I have forgotten some of the stuff in there. That flying

through the clouds was my favorite part.

Does anybody remember the smell at the

part seen at 4:58? Man, I loved it, the

    ride.

  • @vigo894 Yeah!! What was that smell! I distinctly remember it from when I went in about 1992!!! It was like the smell of clouds! lol!!! What was that???

  • Damn I miss this!

  • This is another older Disney ride that I didn't like as much as what replaced it. Sure, it was a classic, but Buzz Lightyear was the first arcade shooter ride, and it still is a blast even though there are other rides similar to it out now. It's nice to see what it was before though.

  • OMG I remember this ride way back in 1993 dude this brang back so many memories of Disney world

  • This just brought back so many memories of the first time I was at the Magic Kingdom. 1994, and they still had this ride.

  • why do we need to get rid of old rides? why cant they just find more space to put the new rides?.. =(

  • I have video of WDW and Ebcot from 1986 1992 and 1995. The rides then were a olt better than they are now. I think I will upload them. I went last year with my kids and it was not the same, they took out all of the rides I use to love and altered some. It kind of ruined it for me. My kids loved it none the less. I guess I just wanted to see what I saw as a child and was let down.

  • I miss this ride. Wished they could had kept it. And probably put in a new sponsor perhaps.

  • I remember going on this when it was still called "If You Had Wings." I think that was sponsored by Eastern Airlines...now those were the good old days of WDW. I've been going to this resort practically since I was born and have seen the changes. People who have never been there except recently really have no idea what they missed back then. The old Horizons (gone now) and Universe of Energy are other great examples...thanks for the posting!

    ~Luke

  • I loved this ride so much. Then we visited and it was called Take flight, and then that TOOK flight and it was Buzz lightyear. Meh. We need a YESTERDAY land with all the old good rides!

  • One day when I revive PAN AM. I would form a sponsorship with Disney and ask them to replace buzz lightyear with a New I Max type ride called

    PAN AM Dreamflight...

  • Thank you so much for posting. I love the old rides at Disney World and I remember when I went one year and this was gone. I love what I guess are the diorama-old-school rides. I could remember being little and being in there. Also, these are what I called the "Downtime" rides. When it was too hot, there were no lines and you could sit in the air-conditioning. Thanks again. It brought back so many memories.

  • i remember skipping school and taking +a mind enhancing drug for this ride.....the end.....ohhh man

  • omggggggg thats such a fuckin awesome idea and time.

What a fuckin lucky person you are! too bad i was ages 5-11 while this ride was still alive and was too young for mind enhancers, but i can surely imagine how you musta felt.

good for you man, good for you

  • Are there any homages to Dreamflight in Buzz?

  • There are some. It's the same track, and the engines in the Jet Age turbine engine are the same in the "Emergency Escape Hatch"

  • man I miss this ride I wish they kept it this was such a great ride and it brings back so many childhood memeries I was abouut 5 and 6 years old when I rode this when I found out that the toy story ride replaced it thanks for posting rip delta dreamflight 1990 - 1998 but oh man buzz lightyears mistake spin I mean space ranger spin replaced it big mistake

  • Thank you for posting this. I rode Dreamflight on my first trip to WDW when I was 7. Didn't remember anything about it, except going through the jet engine. My lil brother got really scared but I loved it. Good memories of years gone by :(.

  • dude thats the only thing i could remember about the ride too. i guess the jet engine thing just stuck with everyone. =/

  • Thank you so much for posting this.. watching it every day (yes you could say im obssessed)

  • This brings back memories from my childhood. I love Disney World but I hate how their constantly taking away all of the classics. I miss this ride along with Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Body Wars, Cranium Command and 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea.

  • Hey when did you visit USA? I remember all the old classics too :-) The first i ever went was back in 1994 (i think). Been hooked ever since ! visiting again this september. I am so counting the months, weeks, days hours minutes and yes, seconds !

  • @KingJim85 I agree with you 100%

  • thanks much for posting this...i miss the old rides like this, esp Horizons over at EPCOT Center

  • I loved this ride!

  • Ive always loved thrill rides but my mother hates them and this is the one ride that she really looked foward to ridind. The ride which we all gladly rode together. I hate that they replaced it. Im pretty sure that they had space to add build a new location for buzz, instead of replacing this one

  • oh my god... this seriously almost puts tears in my eyes. This was the single most memorable ride for me when I went to disneyworld. Im only 25..but still, this was my favorite. the atmosphere, the smell of the air and music are what made it amazing..thank you so much for posting this.. brings back SO MANY MEMORIES

  • Im so with you on that one. im 23 and i rode this like 20 times one trip when i was in first grade, now when i go back i still feel like that first grader when im there and all the memories come rushing back

  • this ride was so good, it was the only one i remembered riding when i was little, then they replaced it :(

  • Anyone an idea, where I can get the music???

  • i loved this ride when i was younger then like in 2003 or 04 it was gone i was sooo upset i think buzz lightyear was there . i nearly cried lol. just cuz i felt like it was a part of the park . and my dad was a pilot on delta so it was a fond memory of mine , thank you soo much . for the memory recap

    danielle

  • Thank you to the person who posted this video. This was one of my favorite rides at Walt Disney World. When the park was getting ready to close, I would ride it as many times as I could. I was so pissed when they took the ride out. Thanks again.

  • Thank you for putting this out there. I am so glad to have happy memories of the old stuff I miss from Disney World.

  • almiriade - you aren't at all overreacting because I just did the very same thing... :-) Brings back some very special memories-i am going in September this year, and i am so excited, i keep logging onto youtube andthe disney website to watch videos... i cant wait :-)

  • I used to bring a cup of pennies into Dream Flight and my friend and I would throw them at the ride's characters. Never a line. You used to be able to ride DreamFlight over and over. The good ol' days.

  • Maybe I am a little overreacting but when I saw this video I cried, it was my favourite ride and reminds me of my vacations in WDW with my family. I hope they don't keep changing things the way they are doing lately!

  • Maybe I am a little overreacting but when I saw this video I cried, it was my favourite ride and reminds me of my vacations in WDW with my family. I hope they don't keep changing things the way they are doing lately!

  • omg ive been looking for this ride for so long now i remember cause theres this tunnel and you cant see the floor iw as freaking out lol

  • As if us adults don't mean a thing. When I was a kid, Disney had awesome rides. Now, they make it better for kids in this day in age. Kids these days don't appreciate anything as it is. This is a ride they can turn back unlike world of motion or horizons. They should do it

  • This was my favorite ride, and it was replaced by Buzz Lightyear! Why Disney? WHY!!!!!!!

  • I always thought the same thing when they told me it was being changed...

  • That was because of its partnership cancellation with Delta, when they were about to sponsor the '96 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, thought you might like to know. I remember this ride, too; I rode it when I was little, but the scariest part was entering the inside of the jet engine. That scared the daylights out of me SO much, I buried my face in my mom's coat until the footage of the plane taking off appeared. The rest of it was nice and peaceful. It was a shame for it to close down.

  • i miss this ride too, however cheezy it was. I hope they dont axe the carousel of progress too. that would be a shame.

  • first time i went on this was 94 came back in 96 then in 98 it was gone :( booooo and i havnt been back since. i loved it though im 21 now and would love to go back to wdw

  • Used to be Eastern, Wings of Man ride. Eastern used to be the official airline of WDW. When they went bankrupt, Delta picked up the title.

  • My first WDW trip was in April 98, and this ride was already gone for good. After viewing this, I realize it wasn't at all wht I had pictured it to be. I love the Buzz ride, but this looked pretty cool too. It seemd like classic WDW. Thanks for the glimpse!

  • Me too..I was there in 2000, and wanted to take my husband and baby there for a ride but it was gone. I miss it!

  • Thank you so much for posting this. This was one of our favorite rides. Buzz sucks! I miss this. I miss what Tomorrowland used to be...before it became "Character Land"

  • This used to be my favorite ride when I was little. I was so upset they took it out.

  • I still remember what was here BEFORE Dreamflight...anybody remember it? It was called "If I had Wings." (or maybe it was if YOU had wings). The good old days indeed. There was an actual ticket agent at the end of the ride to book reservations. I believe it was Eastern Airlines (maybe Republic)..it's been years obviously.

    ~Lucas

  • I had vague memories of this from when we went to Disney when I was six, so it's cool to see it!

  • I remember this ride from way back when. I wish it were still around, I love Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin but I loved this ride more. Alot of my favorites at Magic Kingdom are gone.

  • Loved this ride....I also love Buzz Lightyear's Spin, I just wish there was a way they could've kept Dreamflight too. Unfortunately, many of my favorite past Disney World attractions have been made into new ones that are either thrill rides which are too rough for me, or rides that are mostly for young kids.

  • i ride it in 92, 94, 97 and in 2002 delta dreamflight was closed and updated by buzzlightyear the only thing that they keeped was the spinnig light simulating the flight!!!!!!

  • Thanks for this one. One of my favorites from Disney-past!!

  • Dreamflight was a lot of fun. Its great to see it again. Funny how the Buzz replacement follows the same tracks and a few of the rooms are the same.

  • The good old DisneyWorld Days.

  • disney dropped delta name year latter

  • VFX is the man!

  • I loved this ride. Always quick waiting time.

  • oh my god I LOVED THIS RIDE. I grew up in Orlando and this was the est ride ever,

  • The ride was great but liberals truly suck.

  • Ah, denial is always fun.

  • I loved this ride also. However, I have got to admit that Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin is better.

  • This was probably my FAVORITE ride as a kid. I's so ticked they replaced it with a Buzz Lightyear Shooting Gallery. (The stupid guns they give you barly even move, so it's next to impossible to hit the stupid Zs! There's not even a little laser pointer to help you know where you're aiming. Idiot Ride Designers.)

  • Great video. I used to work at Space Mountain in the late 90s and had many friends who worked the tomorrowland circuit of attractions (Dreamflight/Timekeeper/TTA/AlienEncounter). I was there the last summer for Dreamflight and took some last walk throughs before it was gone. I was very sad to see it go but I know from a business perspective, Buzz's ride is a bigger success. Ah, the march of progress. Again...thanks!

  • WOW man, this was such a chill & relaxing ride. I never minded when the ride was stopped for a few minutes. It'a a shame this is no more, the ride like takes you to another world. That was all the brilliant mind of Walt Disney.

  • I remember this ride! I rode it first when I was seven! (Born 1965). This is the "updated" version. Thanks for the memory!

  • Um no, its not an updated version. You're talking about If You Had Wings which was a completely different attraction.

  • You don't think another version of a ride about flight is an 'updated' version? hmmmm

  • the ride is now gone. Buzz Ranger's Space Ranger Spin current;y occupies the building.

  • Oh please I beg you don't confuse this any further. I am aware of Buzz's ride as I have finally achieved my 'Galactic Pilot' Status last week when we were there. I was commenting that I felt 'Delta Dreamflight' and 'If You Had Wings' were close enough to be considered an updated version. But it is only my opinion and not very important in the scheme of things.

  • Xadllas is right...they are completely different attractions. Just trust me on this...coming from someone who has been on this and the previous attraction MANY times.

  • i really hate the new ride that took this one's place... the buzz light year thing is cheesy! It's the same track and everything. How lame.

  • i remember this ride when i was younger. i used to ride this ride every time right after i got off of the Extra Terrestrials Alien Encounter rides and this ride always calmed me down.

  • i loved this ride...

  • I remember this ride. I loved it because it was relaxing. I love the video!!!

  • When was this ride removed from the park? I don't remember it at all and I've been there 9 times.

  • they took it out in '98, and replaced it with Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. I realy wished they didnt. I loved Delta Dreamflight, I miss it, I completely forgot about it for a few years until about 5 min ago then looked it up. Another good attraction they replaced was Extra Terrorestrial Alien Encounters with Stitch's Great Escape.... now I have never seen Stitch's Great Escape, but I refuse to... I miss my alien encounters damn it! lol

  • Thanks for the upload. I never rode this.

  • I am so excited. I go to Disney on the 17th. I've gone on TONS of planes before. But that's when I was little. Latley I've been developing fears for everything. So I am a little scared of planes. I'm such a loser.
