  • nice job, check out my little centre table n scale train set up in the beginning stages, i also do ho and g scale.

  • I threw one of these out a few weeks ago. I think you guys stole it out of my trash can D:

  • wáhnsinñ_lèÚté_sücht_mâl_ñách:_olikohle_Aûf_gÕØglè_vòll_gëil

  • What group operates this? I'll be attending UNC in Greeley and would love to be a part of this if possible!

  • This layout is so much better to see in person!! I love visiting just about every weekend and the people are very friendly and ready to answer any questions!

  • the one in germany is MUCH better

  • Northlandz , Flemmington NJ - 53,000 sq ft and done.....

  • The train at 1.20 must be a real scale length. Great job all round - well done chaps from a railway 'muddler' in England

  • Reminds me of the John Allen Gorre and Daphetid (sp) I saw in the Model Railroader about 50 years back. Looks great!

  • VERY NICE!!! Only wish that I had that kind of room to play with.

  • How much would this cost to purchase. Dont say priceless. Everythig has a price !! million ???

  • @sms8668 $1,000-$1.200 dollars to build that WHOLE layout. :)

  • IMO, The best model railroad ever was the Gorre and Daphetid. Pretty hard to top John Allen. This does appear to be an outstanding layout.

  • great layout, but if you are going to run the trains...at least run them at a "reasonable" speed. Watching them crawl around makes for a B O R I N G display in a big hurry.

  • love to know how it's cleaned. truly amazing though

  • This is very impressive. However...

Miniatur Wunderland > this. By a LOOONNGGGG SHOT

    I wouldn't say "best"...more like...amazing.

  • boring

  • Boring

  • Why cant I just die in my sleep?

  • i wouldnt like to pay that electric bill.... but AMAZING LAYOUT!

  • Best? Hardly. Obvioulsy never seen the Franklin and South Manchester. That's THE greatest.

  • thats not the best. miniatur wunderland is the best

  • @angrymouseboy miniatur wunderland SUCKS! all the corners are too sharp

  • @bartybum no see this one has only american trains wich suck and the wunderland has a lot of different trains

  • @angrymouseboy American trains don't suck they are the best kind out there especially the steam engines after all the U.S still has a lot of its historic steam engines in good condition and also the US has the greatest train in history the GS-4#4449 still running like it would be in the 40s-60s so don't say they suck just because its only american trains because most layouts that are built depict the golden years of the rail road with all of the scenic routes and the trains that traveled on them

  • @angrymouseboy

Miniature Wunderland was not that impressive. But that's my opinion. Just like yours.

  • looks great!

  • I've asked myself hundreds of times: "what is this fascination that model trains have on gorn men?"

I grew up with trains, real ones, since my dad worked his whole life with the German railroad, his dad before him and we lived near the railroads.

  • maybe your dad isnt proud of some of the stock he rolled?

  • I don't know what you are trying to suggest, after the war we finally learned that my dad was an active member of the underground movement in Cologne and because he worked at the RR he was able to smuggle parachuted allied flyers into free Vichy France and Spain. Many owe his life to him,

  • maybe its the art thats put into a layout, the same as an artist doing a marble sculpture

  • beautiful layout. absolutely beautiful

  • it's a brirrilant layout but i don't think theres enough scenery between the rails and the edge of the layout

  • I agree the term best should avoided,

It will be cool when it;s done, but their are a few better ones out there.

  • HOW WERE THE MOUNTAINS CREATED ??

  • Plaster Mold or Clay. Either one. Paint, ad landscaping, and maybe even a tunnel for the trains.

  • model tectonics?

  • underneth it all, its just... styrofoam

  • @sms8668 You sound like an angry athiest!

  • Thats insane!

  • Interesting large layout, but wouldn't many agree "best " is a term best avoided?

  • thats what Model RR Magazine Called it Awarded it for scenery detail

  • This one is way smaller than the Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg

  • we did not get to all of it

  • @WilliamJensen830 It's BEST not LARGEST although Miniatur Wunderland is very impresive!

  • I think i saw the worlds best model RR in germany. This is a small but nice attempt.

Is this a "fantasy" RR or is it a mimic of the local area ?

  • cool...cool...my fav is still the piermont division

  • i believe jhon allen made the most amazing mrr

  • You got that right. I got to see the Gore and Daphidid just before John died, and it was unbelievable. And keep in mind, he did it without all the latest technology available today....

  • I remember being blown away by an article about that layout. Wish I could have seen it...

  • i've seen pics of john's layout and aftermath pics from the fire. john allen is what got me into model railroading. that was a beautiful railroad. it's a shame fire took it all away

  • haha, you got yelled at. thats funny

  • i seen this in model railroader!

  • thats the one, was it Dec 2007?

  • yah

  • That is supremely intense.

  • Check out Northlandz

  • wow!!

  • Beautiful!

  • amazing! how much can those engines pull? even if i had the space to build something on that scale all those trains cost a fortune not to mention the rail tracks! how far would they reach in a straight line? and who pays the electric bill?

  • Museum admission fees I guess, it opens at the end of May 2009 in Greeley CO

  • WOW. That is awesome.

  • how many trains can he run at once. this is pure crazyness

  • !!!!!!! F A N T A S T I C !!!!!!!!

  • Amazing!

  • man, i wish john allen's gorre & daphetid railroad still existed and hadnt of burned in a fire! i would pay good money to see that one.....

  • this is awesome! great work! it would be so cool if they allow visitors the choice to bring in 1 train and 1 train only (say their favorite train) and if it meets requirments for the layout, pay a reasonable fee and let the pros that own the museum run them on a main line through the whole layout once for the owner of train to have viewing pleasures/great photos as well as the memmory of knowing they ran their favorite train on one of the worlds best layout!! just a thought lol!

  • This is great, and reminiscent of some of the great floor to ceiling work that John Allen did on his famous Gorre and Daphetid. This one dwarfs even that great layout! Great work!

  • no but wouldn't that be awesome?

  • I think so!

  • where is this at? I'd love to take my family to see it.

  • Greeley, CO (usa)opening May 2009 see

    gfsm-DOT-org

  • This is a great video of a great layout, and I'm looking forward to see more of it. What's more, you've given me plenty of inspiration for my own model railroad project. Thank you. :)

  • im gonna steal this, put it in my pickup truck, and come to my house! lol jk

  • You have a 1/G scale pickup truck?

  • where is this scale. i would love to go and see it in person and be amazed.

  • got to see dis

  • fantastic, I need to visit.

  • Thats nuts! this is incredible! i'll definetly have to see that!
