am I the only one who cant take their mind off how much he was rushing during the verses? seriously its a good 10bpm faster than when there's no lyrics, and 15-20bpm above his studio version of this.
Sorry, the song isn't entirely about Joe Strummer.
After all he was a die hard fan of Joe Strummer and there's not much else that line could mean that doesn't take at least some of the fun out of the song.
he played the epiphone before he played the gibson. if you watch the dirty old town dvd he is using the epiphone. I believe he picked up the 335 a few years ago.
it's actually 99% broken now, along with his Orange amp. they both f--- up at his live shows every so often. The show before the last one I saw (which was in new york) his amp completely died halfway through a song. lmao.
Yeah, he started with an epi sheraton but you know how being rich and relatively unfamous can be--BUY MORE GUITARS!
I kinda miss it though, cause I play an epi sheraton II as well.
Fuck. I wish i was Timory

@saranobby Timory is dead, so you probably shouldn't wish you were here.

this makes living in Iowa even more depressing. I'll likely never get to see one of my favorite artists live.

xflamingpenguinx 3 years ago
basically, he's in europe for like forever and I'm not sure if he's touring before working on another album. :P

He's like an American Joe Strummer, who, coincidentally, this song is about.
"All Johnny left us was an apple tree", A reference to Joe Strummer's song "Johnny Appleseed".
And man is he great to hear live.

i don't know if i agree with that, as both ted's and joe's albums came out around the same time.

Where's his Gibson? He's playing an Epiphone Sheraton here but his usual axe is a Gibson ES-335.
I notice too many things.

he very often indulges in the sheraton

yeah, his epiphone is his main guitar. he plays the gibson more now because the sheraton is taking a beating.

Saw him just over a month ago at King Tut's. Absolutely brilliant show. Loved the Timorous Me (favourite Ted Leo song) leading into Walking To Do.
