  • An American here....I saw Minder on a Canadian station 30 years ago; nice to see these episodes again as a reMinder ( pun intended)...

Hard to beat Arthur Daley as the ultimate shyster, although even he recognized that Terry was the best partner that he could have ever had, and much sharper than he was ever given credit for...

Couldn't quite follow Arthur's statement in Cockney slang, but anyone would get the idea, anyway..

  • "Terry discovers getting cash out of Arthur Daley ain't easy." lolol THATS an understatment! lol I saw a clip where Arthur pulls out a wad of bills, and Terry said "If I had known you had so much money I would have mugged you"! lolol

  • holding folding.... that is, have bank notes in your hand

  • The best tv programme of all time.

  • 'oldin foldin' and 'sovs'...just love arthur's ol' cockney banter...he is a legend,no doubt there...even think arthur daley is a better, funnier character than del boy...it's a close call but arthur takes it with a photo finish i say !

  • bet you didn't know that supposed "fitness fanatic" Denis waterman smoked like a chimney in real life!

  • Why did they try and remake this? Never going to work. Come to that it went to pot when the great Dennis Waterman left.

  • Arthur you're a bastard!!!!

  • "the feller in the father christmas gear made that very clear".

it even rhymes, pure poetry for a script.

  • Pmsl @ Harecat, too true, the words shirt and lift spring to mind! Ha ha

  • Great clip, just bought the box set, dare I say Arthur funnier than Del Boy? Yep!!!

  • @jdsmithy In my opinion, Minder is streets ahead of Only Fools and Horses. It's much more understated, and the humour and dialogues are far cleverer than those of Only Fools and Horses. Only Fools and Horses lacked subtlety of any kind, and, to my mind, was aimed at thick people (the majority of the population fitting this description) who require jokes and punchlines to be rammed down their throats at every turn.

  • @jackwardjw

Definitely agree with that. Early OFAH was superb but as it gained in popularity it dumbed down somewhat. The rhythm and the nuance of Minder's scripting was second to none.

  • Dave knows what i mean, don't you dave....."no" LMFAO

  • That bird Debbie (Diane Malin) was a bit of alright!

  • Wonderful.... those were the days. People acting on TV with a bit of muscle, George Cole. . Today its the likes of Barrowman and his ass bandit Dr Who chums calling the shots.

  • The world is your lobster Terrance.

  • your right this was the best, i'm 32, and remmember the lot and it was the one and only on itv at the time.

  • 30 pounds for a night out with a stripper in London, those were the days.

  • That wont even pay for a lap dance now.

  • original minder so cool new one so s--t

give it up you will never be arther and terry.
