I have a 73inch mits too and its 3d ready and a beast sure it might not compare to some of the new leds but in some aspects iv seen it better then more then 90% lcds tv's not to mention its just beastly when you have a big tv with nice sound system it really is a movie theater screen to me hell even if i have to replace a bulb there cheap and worth the price by far

A DLP bulb is way more affordable to replace than if your plasma goes out, also the picture at least imo on the dlp is superior. I Just got the Mitsubishi WD-73638 3D Ready tv and it arrives monday. I usually do leases on TVs because of technology I never invest in tvs because they rapidly change and the picture just get's better. I basically upgrade every year so next year I'll upgrade to a 82" or possibly the new 92" DLP(well maybe by 2013)

Generally DLP TV bulbs last around 8000 hours and assuming you use it for 10 hours a day thats 2 Years. Also it only costs 99 dollars to replace the bulb. So when say a plasma screen goes out it renders it useless.

@samsam1029 Yea and when you replace the bulb you have the original brightness like when it was new.DLPs don't suffer from the degenerative effect like plasmas and LCDs do.Plasmas and LCDs get dimmer as they age.Then buy new TV.Cha Ching.
