  • anticlimatic

  • Good work guys well done.

  • Thats the one thing i can't see myself buying, camo gear. If i'm spending a 100 quid on a jacket i want to be able to use it for things other than shooting, you look like a knob in camo in public.

  • Excellent vid guys. The best I've seen on the subject.

  • Looks fantastic however the three shooters were right moody gits

  • It must be working I've lived in cumbria all my life. I spend a lot of time outdoors and all I've ever seen is red's I hear there are more grays down south. We must be better shots up here lol

  • Is the grey squirrels native to the area and if not how did they come to the area? I have not heard about this happening here in the United States and we have both the reds and the grey squirrels living together in places like California and such.

  • consider me another backer of this amazing project too :-)

  • I have been out on shoots before with rabbits in mind, then have left the rabbits alone after spotting gray squirrels.

I don't think trapping them is the way to go though, and I'm not just saying this because I would prefer to shoot them, but there is a chance that a hungry red squirrel could be caught in one.

  • i work as a caretaker in a school the school located in a forest.

5 years ago it was 100% red squirrels about 4 years ago i noticed grey squirrels in a matter of 4 years they have pushed out all the red squirrels they have basically took over the place.

  • Great video guys !! It is a privelege to see reds in the wild , you deserve all the praise and help you can get , lets hit those grays HARD !!

  • Well done good video

  • Hey here in the USA , red squirrels are smaller but way more aggressive then the grey and push the grays out easy.

  • i live in south cumbria so how do i join

  • I do a lot of hiking, wild camping and visit mountain bothies in the the north of England. I see a lot of both grey and red squirrels in these areas. I was wondering if it's just private land that the greys can be hunted or if there is some kind of permission you can get from the forestry enterprise in Northumberland to be able to help out? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Good work guys keep it up

  • see thats wierd, here in NY our grey squirrels are protected, have their season and bag limmit of 6 per day, however red squirrels are not protected and can be hunted anytime of the year with no daily bag limmit

  • Great job Giles another cracking episode Nige

    ATB Malc

  • great video but at 07:23 you just threw a dead squirrel on the ground didnt you? :P

  • What a great video. Fantastic work all off them they make us All very proud. Long live the majestic red.

  • Hats off to all involved. The Red needs all the help it can get, and the grey all the pressure possible :) Great vid, ive thumbs up and added to faves. Graham.

  • Nice documentary and very good editing too!

PS: 13:08 It's the same stump Daystate used to take the picture of the Red Ranger (limited edition of the Air Ranger) with the squirrel. You can recognise it by the shape of the trees behind it :)

  • I live quite close to a red squirrel reserve, I'm very lucky to be able to see these beautiful creatures on a regular basis. English nature who police the reserve don't like hunting of any kind, so the very close grey squirrel population breed unabated. It's difficult to get permisions in the local area mainly because the local people are firmly against hunting too, and the farmers don't want protesters all over their land (we are not PC). (North Merseyside incase you were wondering)

  • @mrrabbiteye i have to agree with you they are beautiful looking. alas i like so many other people have never seen one in the wild. but i`m starting to knock up my tally of greys now the leaves have fallen from the trees.

  • @almond1915 i went out this morning and got eight of the little buggers and yes i had one big (SMILE) on my face will doing it . happy hunting ....ATB....

  • what a great looking squirrel (our british red squirrel) i have alot of grey squirrels on all my shoots and i give my word i (WILL )do my bit to rid every grey squirrel i see in aid of saving ou british red squirrel.. thumbs up if your with me on this one..great vid and happy grey squirrel hunting...

    sercout

  • It seems as though invasive species are a problem the world over. It is great to see such a concerted effort for a beautiful creature.

  • would anybody be able to tell me if there is a program like this in edinburgh areas please we have a massive number of grey squirrel and i am yet to see a red one anywhere for the last 5 years any advice is wonderful cheers for the video

  • This is the best clip i have ever seen on Youtube.

    Well done to all involved.

    Si

  • great vid, i've only shot the one but that's one less!

also your hw97 video helped me towards buying mine.

    thanks

  • good doc. I haven't seen red squirrels in years. Mind you I don't know if they are native in quebec where i live now but when i was a young'n liveing in ontario, canada I used to see them all the time. Whether they are of the same breed you have over there, i do not know but I'd sure like to see them again.

Thanks guys and keep up the good work.

  • @fabforceone i went out hunting and got five red squirrels. they're very popular in ontario. but only in pine trees...

  • @Psycho12345123 Well... you can't shoot RED squirrels in the UK - they're protected... and almost extinct because of the grey tree-rats which we imported from your part of the world!!!

  • @AirgunTV dont bitch about it , do you kno how meny shit rats came here from the uk ? ill send you guys some red squrrils if you come here n kill some fuckin starlings .

  • @AirgunTV yeah, over here in ontario i've never seen a grey squirrel they seem to only be in the states... i see alot of reds and black squirrels, and your red squirrels have different ears then ours...

  • @Psycho12345123 I thought so,that reds were plentyfull in ontario but I'm sure there more in the southern part. They must be more adapted for warmer weather. I'm close to montreal and even in the summer you should bring a sweater just in case it gets cool in the evening. I don't ever remember seeing a red squirrel here, it's gotta be the weather.

  • @fabforceone yeah there very plentiful in my area, got about 9 or ten reds this year

  • we need more groups like this around the country

  • its amazing how the cameraman knew the precise spot where the squirrel would fall!!....great show!..loved the HW97k review!

  • a good job being done well done..

  • Great video!!

  • i really enjoy the airgun gear show!!!
