  • Great job on the video. I downloaded SmoothDraw and have been playing around with it, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to make the background black. Also is there a way I can make geometric figures such as rectangles and lines? I have been doing a Khan-style video for the math classes that I teach but I do them live in front of the class. You can see them on my page. Go to uploads, I took the videos off my channel to make room for next semester. Thanks.

  • @MrHammysMathClass The easiest way is in SmoothDraw, on the left hand toolbar about half way down you'll a button labeled Dab (underneath Ink Flow). To the right of that there are two rectangles, a black one on top and a white on underneath. Click the white rectangle underneath, and a color palette shows up. This controls the background color; select black and you're good to go!

  • Jay,

I've been trying to figure out how videos in this style are made. Could you point me in the right direction?

    Thanks

  • @gcd4 Sure,

In the FAQ of his Khan Academy website, he states: "I use Camtasia Recorder ($200) + SmoothDraw3(Free) + a Wacom Bamboo Tablet ($80) on a PC"

I used the exact same setup.
