I've only just seen this anime. Bloody hell, I've never seen an anime as subtly brilliant as this. On the surface it's just action but inside it's mind-blowing. It has all the atmosphere of the best film noir whilst somehow making you feel optimistic in the face of existential crisis. Honestly, I hope I'm never suicidal but if I am I think I'll re-watch this series. / The music is the best.

Interessant, ich dachte immer, und hatte das auch irgendwo so gelesen, dass dieses Special nach Cowboy Bebop entstanden wäre, als letzten Gruß an die Fans, weil viele so deprimiert über das Ende waren (wer war das nicht, ist fast zehn Jahre her, aber ich weiss immer noch wie ich erst stumm da saß und dann minutenlang geheult habe, über einen fiktiven Charakter). Habe die Schlussbotschaft der Folge auch immer so empfunden als eine Art Abschied, dem man aber nicht mit Wehmut begegnen soll.

There is no such thing as "the best", for something best can be such to one person, but not to another. Cowboy Bebop is the best to me, but no matter what it is an art-form. A beautiful 26 piece painting, depicting a world, that I can truly see as something more than fiction. A world just like ours, filled with wonder, pain, greed, lust, pride, dreams, hopes, love, and all other sins and virtues, and Recover the Sky of Day, is by far the best song to complement this. Its once in a lifetime anime

Damn, I wonder how everyone in Japan felt after watching this episode...

This episode was made due to the increasing violence occurring throughout Japan at the time, and ended the series with the characters philosophizing with flashbacks from the first 13 episodes shown in Japan. As told, "THIS IS NOT THE END. YOU WILL SEE THE REAL "COWBOY BEBOP" SOMEDAY!", the series would eventually come back on another channel in Japan to finish off the remaining 13 and continue the legacy of Cowboy Bebop.

I do like the dub a bit more because I think the voice actors were amazing, the original voices aren't bad though. Cowboy Bebop will always be my favorite show.

Yeah, it's Steven Blum, and he's been in quite a lot of well-known anime, especially Bebop and Champloo (he does Mugen, btw).

Thank you so much for uploading this. I cried after finishing the Cowboy Bebop series because I didn't want it all to end that way, and regardless of whether or not this follows Session 26, it makes me feel a lot better about the conclusion. The "This is not the end" part also made me feel a million time better.

This takes place after episode 13 so he's still alive. but for all intensive purposes it's still episode 27.

Some Anime shows will have a recap episode like this. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann did the same thing when it finished the first season.

Well during the first broadcast: it was almost never seen due to censorship in Japan during that time. It only showed 13 episodes on TV Tokyo. That's the reason why they did this.

Yes, this was the "philisophical episode" made in response to rising school violence in Japan. (The show was put on Haiutus around ep 12 I believe, because of the violence in it)

Von wegen schlechte Einschaltqouten. Die Serie war eine der Erfolgreichsten in Japan. Watanabe hat selber gesagt, dass mit Spikes Tod alles erzählt wurde. Es war Zeit, dass der Albtraum von Spike zu Ende geht. Das hier ist reine Verarsche. Es gab, gibt und wird nie eine zweite Staffel geben!!!
