hahahaha LLS everytime i watch this episode, my immediate response, b/c of the ending, is always, "yeeeaa alriiight!!" LOL/XXD. this one just gets me so excited, when justice is served 2 the RIGHT villain & all the inaccurate assumptions, vicious insults & ugly attacks on character, by the prosecution, just exposes an asshole douchebag & ANYthing said by him in the future, its validity should be questioned w/the same vigor XXD
YEEEAAAA ALRIIIGHT, HE GOT THAT BITCH!! well, he always gets his man/woman, in the end. i just especially like, how he got the murderer in this 1, cause Eleanor, was SO close 2 becoming mummy dust...SO CLOSE. both of those ugly wicked crows should swing, just 4 the vile gossip they spread about her. especially the fat 1, who GLEEFULLY asks Poirot, "so, will Eleanor be hanged?"smh trifling cow. would love 2 see HER, at the end of a rope. Eleanor deserves 2 be w/the man that adores her...the Doc
I love Poirot (and Marple)! I read all the books in my teens and, having watched all the adaptations starring the wonderful David Suchet over the years, I have to say this, and After The Funeral, are my absolute favourites. I love the sombre mood of this one and think Elisabeth Dermot-Walsh gave an utterly compelling performance, and I love the scene where the real villain is unveiled; Poirot acts so cool! Love it!!!
@Ellie21408 Not a lucky coincidence; remember at the start, when Elinor and Roddy had just arrived and Elinor was going in to see Mrs. Wellman? She asked Elinor if she wanted tea, but Elinor said "No thank you, I never drink tea."
Wait a minute. The nurse poisoned the tea to kill Mary, right? Well, that would be a stupid method to commit the murder because she was taking a huge risk. Elinor was there and she could have drunk that tea too. She wasn't poisoned only because she declined the tea. It was a lucky coincidence.
What a lovely episode! I suspected the wrong persons as usual :D which made the end be even more thrilling. An outstanding performance of Elisabeth Dermot Walsh! Besides the fact that she is extremely beautiful, she also has an incredible capacity for displaying emotions and feelings on her face.
I had thought for sure that it was Mr. Winter. I thought that when he had gone into the bedroom that night he had seen the open drawer, and found papers about Mary in there. I thought that he might have only been with Eleanor for the inheritance, and that he was now changing sides. Wanting to get Eleanor out of the way he poisoned her wine glass. She didn't drink it, and he left it there, only to be found, and drunk the next day by Mary. Or y'know.. Something like that..
Thank you i love the expression on the Doctors face as Elinor leaves the prison and walks to him its so sweet he is clearly a man in love and very grateful to Poirot.
that was a good ending. had to go back and watch the previous part to figure out where he switched the rose. thanks for uploading all these episodes. is there a place where i can get info on the cast. couldn't find it on IMDb for some reason.
To ravenhaven14 Thank-you so very much for posting this one sad cypress,I had not seen this one before and it was excellent. This the first one that made me cry. I guess because of the rose, and its meaning,it and Poirot saved her life.truly thank-you again.
I may be thick, but I don't get it: why would Mary be Mrs. Welman closest relative and stand to inherit her money? Her natural mother gave her up for adoption, there shouldn't be any legal link between them. I'm really puzzled.
@dienne3791 In the book it is said that no real adoption took place and therefore legally Mary was still the heiress of Mrs. Welman's fortune. Anyway the adoption laws might have been different in 1940 when the book was published.
@dienne3791 because she was Mrs Welman's daughter, even if she was illegitimate. Elinor inherited all because she was the the KNOWN next of kin. And maybe the law would have allowed that illegitimate children to inherit. I guess.
i love the actress who played elinor i saw her in falling for a dancer. she's amazing. i love agatha christie and all her poirot books, i'm so glad that she wrote so many so that there's never an end to the pleasure!
LLS take her home & spank that ass doc LOL/XXD

Interesting how Poirot confronts everyone separately, personally I like everyone in one room.

That's how Hopkins knew.

That makes sense. I had almost forgotten about the scene in the library... it could have been possible :)
