@WorldOfJulee - At the writing stage I figured out the verse/chorus parts and then used copy/paste to make a rough arrangement, so I could work out the vocals/lyrics. Then I re-record everything, performing each guitar or vocal part straight through, so by the end the whole recording consists of single continuous takes with no edits. I'm not religious about doing that, but I like it when a record has random inconsistencies scattered around it. Google for The Beatles Anomalies List.
@danielearwicker Oh ok, I wanted to do it like that also, but I am afraid, I would do a mistake, so I'd have to record the whole thing once again, and once again through, until I do another mistake, do you know what I mean? But I understand the attractiveness of those inconsistencies. It sounds more 'live' also, I think, and less 'recorded'.
This (as well as finding the debut Pretenders album for 5 bucks at the record store) made my day.
Very REM, "Flowers Of Guatemala" sort of feel I'm getting from this one. It's probably just me that thinks that, cause I've listened to nothing but Lifes Rich Pageant for the past two weeks. :P
@FriedGold8942 Thanks, I know the feeling, I had 'Fables of the Reconstruction' on an endless loop for about a year in the late 1980s punctuated only by bits of dance music.
One of your best. Up there with Hypochondria, which is my favourite. Your songs always seem to spring fom a well of beautifully dark guitar parts that flow effortlessly from your playing. And then there's the intelligent subjects you dwell on; always in a considerate way and never undermining the listener. Let's have more....PS. I think you have a ladder in your tights at 2.15
I absoultey love your work... whether its when you're playing and beautifully replicating The Smiths's sound or when your're playing in your band...I was wondering if you had any tips for somebody starting up with the whole jangle type sound on his guitar? String gauges? Amps? Etc..it'd be super appreciated. Nice Work anyway!
I think I've found my new favorite solo artist of 2012...

I have a question about your recording-technique.
Do you play each instrument threw for the whole song? Or do you loop the parts? How do you do that?
Thank you your music is impressive!
