  • What exhaust system do you have?

  • Cross fire was crap, but carb is better , or tuned port

  • SOUNDS NICE!! BUT TAKING OUT THE CROSSFIRE!! MISTAKE!! I LOVE MY CROSSFIRE! I HAVE A 84 CORVETTE RUNNING IN THE LOW 11'S WITH THE CROSSFIRE!

  • Miss my 84! Don't miss the cross fire crap... this vette sounds great

  • What kind of muffler was that? Nice crisp sound

  • Im 21 my 84 full coverage is $100 thru geico, lol my record is two accidents and a seatbelt ticket. And by accidents I lterally bumped people backing out buy yea two "accidents" so that's cheap.

  • I actually found one of these on CL for 4000, only downside is since I'm 22 my insurance agent would totally screw me over on rates. : ( I guess I can't blame him though... I would get in so much trouble.

  • GREAT SOUNDING '84 VETTE.. LOOKS JUST LIKE MINE COMPLETELY!!! I'm thinking bout taking out the Crossfire TBI and putting cleaner set up Carburetor from Edelbrock!! Keeping the original Engine and transand everything else not sure bout the gauges?! Still deciding on that look.

  • bitch sounds good

  • Rumpity-rump-rump cam and Flowmasters - I love that sound! bubituh bubituh bubituh bubituh bubituh :)

  • sorry folks you just cant beat the carburetor

  • As a matter of fact......if you're on a tight budget , the first and best way to start modifying your '84 Corvette is to find a used '85 or newer tuned port injection system . You won't believe the improvement in your performance by just doing this first step. Crossfire was a dead duck...and Chevy knew it immediately . That's why they changed it in '85 . I recommend getting new injectors , too .

  • Put a tuned port injection with alluminum heads and your '84 will scream like you never imagined . But hang onto the Crossfire injection system in the event that these one year production vettes will become valuable later down the road (say in 20 years)

  • 84 and 85 are cross fire

  • Not true , mustangtomiata.........'84 was the first and only crossfire in the C4 body style . Tuned Port came out in '85 .

  • your right, I had my facts mixed up.

  • No problem mustangtomiata . It's a common mistake . I completely revamped my '84 by modernizing the body and modifying the engine. By sight... You can't tell what year it is which makes it unique in it's own . You could say that I made three lefts to make a right by not just buying a newer Vette , but where's the fun in that ? If you have the time , the money, and the imagination.....these vettes can be very fun and challenging to modify .

  • hopefully this vette doesn't get parted out, it's perfect to restore it as far as i can see it from here. would be a shame to slaughter it.

  • What size cam is that?? I need to get one for my 350!!!

  • that cam sounds bad ass! what were the times?

  • Sorry, don't know I was gonna take the motor for a project but someone offered me $1k more than I paid for the car so I sold it within a month.

  • I'm lucky one of my Vettes is a lower mileage 84 and the motor has been cared for. Now while the motor is nothing great it is still cool if you have a good running one original to the car. In the quarter mile some of todays cars that I own that it runs similar to. 07 hemi jeep chorokee, any v6 f-body car, or any and I mean any ford Mustang because they are all slow pieces of s--t. I also do not and will never own a ford, though unless I'm hung upside down and tortured.

  • Hey sounds awesome, what crate motor is that and what are the cam specs

  • Just a pre 79 block bored 30 over, 74 iron heads, performer rpm intake, Holley 4bbl. Dont know cam, only owned it for a month ended up selling it for a 79 vette project with a 383 stroker.

  • When you had your new engine put in were you able to still use the digital dash? Is it possible to rewire that to a new engine?

  • you put acarb in that car, too sweet dude

  • i'd say thats pretty cammy....lol

  • Hey man, just wondering how you got rid of the crossfire. Did you switch to tuned port? Multi-port? I've got an 84 with crossfire myself and frankly it annoys me. Hell, if I'm not mistaken, the c4 is a bet of an electronic mess. Maybe it's just the 84. Nonetheless, I love the car. Any idea how I can 'upgrade' to TPI?

  • get the system from a corvette which someones parting out if u really wanna do all that work but i wouldn't say its worth it unless you know what your doing basically you have to switch out injection and the manifold and stuff i believe is pretty pricey to upgrade to or replace

  • Someone just swapped the whole motor for an old school 350

  • the 84 crossfire is much better than the 82 corvette, but still crossfire is annoying

  • Yea our crossfire screwed up pretty bad, tried to start it but flames shot out of the carburators where the fuel injectors are.

  • Hey, I want the Corvette body if you decide to take out the motor.

  • Sorry sold already, got a 79 with a new 383 stroker.

  • Cool... I am a huge fan of Vettes. I am holding onto my 67' with a death grip. I've had her since 69' 427ci 435hp on the dyno she pushed almost 500. my two 90's are ongoing projects. One is a pro street 572ci and the other is currently a 350 soon to be a 383 crate.

  • Hate Crossfire... Hate it lol. Glad you got rid of it. The cam sounds alright. Not Overly agressive. The exhaust seem a little pingy. Would like them to be a bit deeper and less hollow/pingy. I have two 90's and a 67'.

  • sounds like a 2 stroke at idle. nice though

  • yup.... best thing you coulda done for an 84..
