  • I was there in our end with a load of my Everton mates and a stated crying when all the evertonians started singing YNWA with us

My respect to the blues for life

  • All I can say is NEVER in any country but England did two teams appear in a stadium with flags of two colours shoulder to shoulder side by side watch a match! Everton and Liverpool! Cousins in a match, brothers and sisters in their own house! Don't ever think that an Everton fan did not lose a brother at Hillsborough!

  • Superb video.I remember this as if it was yesterday. 96 fans who went to watch their team and never came home.

RIP 96 - your always in our hearts

  • YNWA XXX

  • YNWA xxx Kevin Williams and the other 95 xxx

  • Must have been very emotional to hear/sing "Abide With Me" in this particular final. I love that hymn.

    RIP the 96

  • I went to the next league game after this Tottenham against Everton at White Hart Lane (being a Spurs Fan) and the atmosphere was incredibly sombre RIP YNWA

  • ...have a small tear running down my cheek during Abide with Me.

    JFT 96!

    Celtic & Liverpool - FOREVER!

  • this shows why liverpool is one of the greatest citys in the world

  • although the relationship between liverpool and everton may have detriorated over the years slightly,,, these scenes are breathtaking..its amazing....and the banner at the recent fa cup final was a credit to everton fc

  • I miss the old wembley better atmosphere then the over-rated and over priced cup finals just not the same any more! R.I.P 96

  • i agree totally mate, it aint the same at the new wembley

    Dont buy the sun, JFT96

    YNWA

  • I remember this day well, as a neutral Newcastle United fan. It brings a shiver down the spine. Gerry Marsden did very well. Would have been really emotional.

  • Gerry Marsden Is Amazing I Love Himm :)

    Amazing Singer Aswell

  • Spurs Fan commenting here.

I have to admit I have not been to anfield but I would love too.

We will probably lose, but I reckon just to hear the liverpool crowd singing, you'll never walk alone and the waving of the huge flags is worth the money alone..

Us spurs fans are boring compared to your lot.

  • Aww i Asoluty Love Gerry Hes Amazingg :))

  • Rip from Everton

    YNWA

  • ...and its touching to see the messages of support here from all true football supporters. Please rise above the idiots whose hatred and ignorance pollutes far too many internet message boards. Theyre on the wrong side of public opinion, the wrong side of history. Heres to justice for all the 96 victims and good times ahead for the people of a proper football city.

  • This is an incredibly moving video. Im an arsenal supporter but Ive been to anfield many times, and I know all about the solidarity and compassion of merseysiders, something all of us can learn a great deal from. I was at anfield on Tuesday and to see the scarves and floral tributes at the shankly gates was a stirring sight. I was only 3 in 1989 but learning about the tragedy today is no less moving.

  • It brings a tear to my eye at this positive reaction, red and blues paying respect together. At the end of the day football pales in significance to lives lost in such a horrific manner. Would be nice to have Everton win the FA Cup and Liverpool the league this year. Would be a nice tribute to the unity that they had. I look at Everton as my Uni team having studied in Liverpool, a lot of the rivalry is friendly banter, sadly there's a minority of idiots who support every club. RIP the 96.

  • Justice for the 96 YNWA

  • I'm a Luton fan, and have loved all our games. R.I.P.

  • RIP to all who died this day

    Y.N.W.A

  • respect to you all ..... it was a sad day for all of football... god bless

  • I wld love to see another Everton v Liverpool fa cup final that day was awesome even thou im a blue and we lost and watching blues and reds mixing it up together in the stadium,Thats how it should be And from what other blues are saying about the minority fans and their hyesel + hillsbrough chants it is the minority because those tragic events not only affected liverpool fans but also Everton fans the 2 mersey clubs may be rivals but when it matters they stick together this was 1 of those times

  • I agree with you totally. You are a true football supporter.

  • Its just a shame a small minority of bluenoses sing songs about 96 not bein enough and holding copies up of the Sun newspaper when they come to visit anfield. Its really is sad especially when this video clip shows how it once was between us. Reds and Blues united together as one.

    R.I.P 96.

    YNWA.

  • Still well up to this day when I watch a re-run of this final. And this clip has just brought a tear to my eye.

God bless and R.I.P the 96.

    R.I.P NAN

  • i`m dutch support Feyenoord, saw the hole thing in hills, yhis video is great!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm a Londoner that lived through the horror of Hillsborough. Make no mistake, Merseysiders are a complete inspiration to the rest of this country. There are two things in life that if you're young enough to go and explore - trust me go and do it- you should. Sing in the kop and go and hear Land of My Fathers sung by a Welsh Rugby croud. Until...don't bother commenting on sport

  • I have nt sang at the kop myself but i was in the crowd a week after this game as an Londoner and Arsenal fan but even after we won the game it sent a shiver down my spine listening to the kop sing ynwa

  • "Abide with me" is a cup final tradition but it was never more fitting than the rendition at this one. Getting Gerry singing YNWA was nice but it was "Abide with me" that really got to me.

  • This had me in tears at the time. It wasn't so much YNWA which I like but the poignancy of "Abide with me" that really got me.

  • We`ve just lost to Chelsea in the champs league semi final but my faith and spirit remain intact, the greatest football club, city, and people the world has ever seen. My dad died just over two weeks ago and its his birthday tomorrow, i was hoping tonight would be the perfect birthday present for him but its not to be. I know hes now resting with the 96 who so tragically lost there lives on April 15th 1989, God bless you dad and all our Liverpool fans who are up there with you :-))))))))

  • Sorry for your loss. YNWA

  • god bless .

  • beautiful

  • justice for the ninety six. forever in our hearts , r.i.p. you'll never walk alone

  • this is why i love Liverpool FC.. i've been to Anfield to watch games and they have to be easily the best football club in the world to support..

  • I was eight when Hillsborough happened and will NEVER forget it. Have always loved and will always love Liverpool. R.I.P 96. And Rhys Jones.Gone But Not Forgotten.

  • justice for the 96

    R.I.P

  • I'm a AC MILAN fan but I love LIVERPOOL FC..also after istambul 2005..AC MILAN and LIVERPOOL FC are two wonderfull team, have a fantastic history..FORZA MILAN e LIVERPOOL!!

  • Thanks mate

    YNWA! Forza Milan/Forza LPOOL

  • I am from Sweden but I love Liverpool FC and I think that this is such a wonderful tribute to those people who sadly died at Hillsborough. YNWA!

  • R.I.P the 96 innocent Liverpool supporters that died at Hillsborough, It doesn't matter whether you are red or blue half of Merseyside respect where respect is due, Liverpool did a really lovely thing for little Rhys Jones that was poignant and moving.

From a Manchester United supporter JFT96 YNWAxx

  • thank you

  • Nice touch mate !

  • I wish there were more Man United supporters like you mate.

  • Nice One. Thank you

  • a liverbird upon our chest we are men of shanklys best we sing an shout quite a lot somethink which a lot of teams have not when liverpools back is against the wall the mighty reds rarely fall shanks built the foundations paisley built the rest now lets let raffa finish the rest SCOUSE POWER Y.N.W.A JFT96 !

  • It was a sad day for football in the wake of hilisborugh but also a proud day when the two sides of this great city stood side by side.RESPECT!!!

  • Just tey to remember 96 people left to go to a football match as most do every week & never came home. Rivalry apart that is devastating & imagine your own family never coming home from a football match.

Respect is a wordsome could learn to understand.

  • hey come on pirus... ur talkin out of ya arse... end of the day.. if a lil lad... or anyone killed like he was... red or blue.. the fans stick together... the banter is forgot for that moment in time.. i think u forget everton fans singing you'll never walk alone with u in 1989 after hillsboro at goodison.. think ya comments are out of order mate

  • That doesnt stop your lot from singing murderers and 96 was not enough. You forget that when they sing murderers they are not just talking about Heysel!

  • the days red & blue used to stand side-by-side, in the wake of little Rhys, its nice to think even to this day I think on a cup final day we could still just about do it :-)

  • response to bleo34, I'm a blue and the MINORITY of EFC fans don't sing murderers referring to Hillsboro. They sing it re: Heysal. Its not right, its not nice, I hate it but just wanted to clarify this. No Everton fan believes LFC fans were wrong in any way re: the events of Hillsboro.

  • How about going to the everton game at hillsborough and see what they do when they start celebrating the deaths of our fans.

Just wait, a few weeks away we will all see what you lot are like.

  • Nice touch that mate, we can return the compliment tonight at Anfield for poor little Rhys

  • You can just hear 30,000 Bluenoses singing 'Mer-der-erz' in the background. Oh wait that's now.

  • theres only one gerry...
