  • sounds good, wish my truck sounded this good. I have the 40s on my 2.9 ranger, but the exhaust has basically broken off my manifold. so I need to fix that one of these days.

  • Is it carbed or injected

  • damn i knew my brother was wrong when he said a flow master wouldnt sound good on my bronco ima save up and go get one cuz the glass pack i have sounds like shit

  • @CustomCompCreator yea they sound good on some vehichles and not woth a crap on others. this B2 is an example of how any v6 should sound

  • Is it just a flomaster muffler

  • sounds like a big rig

  • so im thinking about doing this to my 88 bronco II so just to be clear from the headers to the muffler the pipe is 2.5". is the pipe coming out of the muffler also 2.5" and you took out the catalytic converter and is it a super 40 muffler?

  • I've never heard a V6 sound so heavenly....that's a good soundin engine and exhaust!

  • The 2.9 is such an underrated engine.

  • Sounds kind of like a diesel.

  • sounds way better then a honda (=

  • Can you spin these 2.9s at 6000 rpms safely stock?

  • wit cat do it sound better

  • sounds like a constant wet fart

  • Had a Flowmaster 40 on mine... God I miss that thing!

Had to tie rubber brake line out the way cause of the squat when you stood on it lol

  • Sounds nice. B2s ROCK!

I just knocked the guts out of my Cat Converter and bolted a Cherry Bomb straight through glass pack to it. Since the Cat was so clogged it gave it a little more go power.

  • it almost sounds like a mini cummins

  • ah yes the good ol 2.9L V6 sound brings back memories and now i have a Ranger w/ a 4.0L 5-speed

  • your tyres need a little pumping

  • It doesn't sound half bad.

  • cool dude i got a 86 ranger 2.9 5 speed and in progress of fixing up

  • my 2.8 z24 does that jake brake i have a gutted out dual 3 inch on it

  • Sounds damn good. I have a '90 with the same muffler, stock cats into a single 2 1/2" dump infront of the rear tire. Love it, although I have been thinking about the new Dynomax VT for something with a little less drone.

  • Sounds nice!

  • So you ran 2 1/2 Exhaust from the manifolds and from the y-pipe you ran 3" exhaust? Like the setup, sounds good.

  • Pretty nice man. I got a cherrybomb with no cat on mine. It sounded pretty nice before we had to rebuild the motor. Lol. I got for $300 and it's been sitting in a pasture for 10 years. I put some fresh gas, oil, and tranny fluid in and it fired rite up. Then when I tore it down I found out it was only running on 3 cylinders. I had a couple of liters seize up.

  • Reminds me of the '86 I had for my first car. I put a 40 series flowmaster with the delta flow (delta flow is a shitty idea on a 6 cyl) with one inlet and 2 outlets. I ran 2 inch pipe out the back with 3 inch tips. Yours sounds nice.

  • Dude a poser? You're truck sounds sweet, i have a 69 Bronco and a 2003 Ford Escape with a 3.7 Licoln V6 both have flowmaster. Its what you like not any other fuck.

  • I had a 88 Bronco 2 that i got from a kid that couldn't get it to run right. It had a 302 in it. Turned out it was just way over cammed. Once i got the cam right and the right carb this thing was down right scary to drive. In a straight line it was OK. But around curves with the V8, Well, Heavy foot puts Bronco in ditch. I learned the hard way.

  • I have a 85 bII and it has the 2 barrel carborated v6, I found a 2.9 fuel injected v6, does anybody know how hard the swap is or anything to that nature?

  • shouldnt be to tough just got to get the whole wire harness and engine computer

  • this sounds pretty good, we used to have an 89 with a 2.9 and when the exhaust rotted off infront of the muffler it sounded good lol, even though it had body rot (reason for ridding of it) it was a nice little suv and ran good, wish i could find another one to drive daily and leave my frontier at home.

  • have you ever thought about running 2 inch feeding into a peice of 3 inch into your 40 series with duals?

  • thanks, that helps. how much did it cost you?

  • I did the exhaust on my B2 for under 70 bucks (CAD). I obviously did it myself though, and I did a cherry bomb glasspack for a "muffler" and normal resonator pipes for the rest (kept the stock cat because I'm lazy). Sounds great, doesn't sound ricey, loud enough to make me happy, but not attract unwanted attention if I keep the revs down.

  • ive been looking everywhere for a flowmaster kit to fit my1988 bronco II 2.9 liter. where did you find it? i found the 40 series but it didnt say it would fit the bronco II. do you have a flowmaster exhaust sytem or just muffler?

  • There is no kit. You buy a muffler and build a system yourself like I did or get an exhaust shop to do it.

  • @geetarmannum1 jus try 1 for a ranger the same year as ur bronco 2. they r the same vehicles

  • @geetarmannum1 I have a 2.9 in my ranger, with the 40 series. all you have to do, is buy some pipe that is tapered and it'll fit. They sell the tapered pipe at autozone, or whatever auto type store yall have.

  • There r ford 2.9 v6's over here in england, I wonder if theyre the same engine?

    we call em ford colognes.

  • its the same.

  • I think I read somewhere that the american version has different cylinder heads?

    not sure though.

  • Cracking cylinder heads was a major problem for the Bronco II's with 2.9's so Ford redesigned them for the 89 models... It may be early then that but I know mine have the redesigned heads and I haven't had a problem yet, but this engine runs so cold i don't think you could over heat it with a functioning radiator. That would be the only difference between the cylinder heads on different motors.

  • running cold is bad, your thermostat may be broken?

  • sounds great , reminds me of my old b2.... youre on rps right?

  • You can never beat the sound of a flowmaster

  • sounds like a Detroit almost, thats wicked.

  • I was thinking about putting a glasspack on mine but i think i might get this.

  • looks like my bronco 2 getting a flowmaster for it soon.

  • x2 LoL

  • YOU POSER!!!!!!!! LOL!

  • haha i caught on the jake brake sound haha pretty sweet bro. for a while i thought the bronco II had a v8 but im dumb. sounds good tho haha

  • A 5-speed manual is the most important thing to have in a Bronco II.

  • @mitsumivec4life

    AGREED

  • i Have the same flow master on my 88 ranger with the cut off about the center of the truck

  • sounds nice

    i wish i had one ...

but then again im only 12

  • gauges on this thing aren't a poser item, I'm thinking of adding some to my bronco, the thing's got no tach

  • how about u shut the fuck up saying they suck they do not suck there badass and that bronco sounds good with flowmasters

  • I agree with you. Bronco II's are awesome.

  • OOH GO GET ME A TOWELL!! I want to buy a ranger with same engine now

  • that's too bad...i loved mine.

  • hey i have a 1989 ranger and im cuttin the cats off too, but did it already have the 2 1/2 from the y or did you change that, and do you think an flowmaster 44 would sound deeper/louder/better or should i stick to the 40 like i was thinkin?

  • I have a 88 ranger with the 2.9 it has the same flowmaster I love the sound when down shift or let off the gas at high speed it sounds just like yours

  • sounds great! i hate my cherry bomb. its way too quiet and not worth the money. flowmaster is the way to go!

  • My bad I commented before I read the comments. Hopefully you'll get the time to swap a 302. I would do it but I can,t find a c-6 tranny.

  • Hey 08southernredneck08, dude flowmasters are all right they're pretty much making the best muffler out there besides thrush. Hey have you ever thought about sticking a 302 in it we've got two early bronco's and I got and old bronco 86 beater for the trails that I'm willing to do the swap. Thats pretty good sound coming from a wimpy six cylinder.

  • Go pay for a better sounding muffler and I'll gladly run it.

  • i am selling mine 1984 bronco 2 it has a new engine. It is in cali. please if you want to buy it please message me!! Thanks

  • Sounds nice, but looks like you need some air on your tire.

  • I think it sounds really throaty. I have a Cherrybomb on my 88 ranger but I think I'll be switchin soon...

I'm also a member on TRS.

  • woot, trs

  • haha that does sound really similar to a w900.

  • lol i had a 88 with the same wood grain dash, five speed stick

  • sounds pretty good man

  • nice got a flowmaster on mine too sounds just like that

  • just put a 302/351 in it belive me theres no way for it to sound bad lol

  • I don't have time for an engine swap on a daily driver, otherwise the 2.9 would be gone.

  • Hey I have a 1990 Bronco II and I want mine to sound like that! How did you do it? Thanks

  • 2 1/2" pipe from the y-pipe back (no cats), flowmaster 40 series 2 1/2" muffler, exiting before the rear tire with a 3" tip

  • Was your flowmaster turned the correct way round or did you install it backwards? Just curious because I know some people tend to flip them!

  • Our 2.9L shop Ranger sounds exactly the same with no muffler at all. Could'a saved yourself a decent chunk of change and straight piped the biatch for the same sound. It pops the same on decel and everything else.

  • I've had it straight piped for a day after my old glass pack fell off, sounds WAAAY different and sounded like shit.

  • well... it is a 2.9... can't expect to find gold in concrete either.

  • Never said that, just saying my experience with a straight pipe differs a lot from yours.

  • What gauges do you have?

  • Oil pressure, temp and vacuum.

  • I was thinking oil pressure and temp, heard of some not so great things about cracking heads with the 2.9s. Just asking because I myself have an 87 Ranger that im fixing up

  • sounds good!!

  • nice

  • sounds awesome. nice work, and nice Bronco 2

  • Bronco II's are poser Bronco's anyway.

  • Come wheelin, I'll walk all over your FSB street queen bitch rig.

  • nice

  • hey, i have a bronco and i need a new muffler. i like the sound of yours. Is it for a stock 6cly for a bronco 2? if it is then where do you get it?

  • cleanest bronco ive heard... nice work
