  • I have this song as a video from a DVD, and I must say that this recording is even better than the one I have - they are just fantastic! :) Thanks for posting this video!

  • one of the first concerts i saw as a kid. my grandad knew these guys, so i got to meet them all afterwards. great bunch of guys. tim's got the best bass voice i have EVER heard.

  • Tim is a great man i grew up with Goldcity as a baby Time Ivan Parker and Brian Free held me on stage as they sang a few songs...ill upload the video as soon as i can i was only like 7 months old..i love Tim he is the Best

  • When J.D sang with the blackwoods he was the best now and then nobody will ever be able to do what he did

  • Have you ever heard him before he was 70 years old? The only person that can even touch him is Jeff Chapman.

  • JD? Yes I did and both points you made were wrong. Chapman isn't as good as Tim either. Tim's the best EVER. Period.

That being said I like Chapman and JD's stuff, just not as well.

I'm not 100% convinced that Jeff doesn't use vocal fry sometimes.

  • @BamaMTA04 all things considered Jeff is far better at his age the Tim was...Jeff is never off ... never needs to slide into a note...and is just so good day in and out that its an unfair comparison to say Tim is better...Tims 70 and the bass voice continues to mature a lot later then other voices

  • how is brother mark in there was it a special thing or somthing because I just did a music school with him in Jacksonville Fl we sang together with his trio.

  • That was at the Gold City Homecoming last June. The Mark Trammell Trio was there that night.

  • Most definitely not. JD was low, but didn't have nearly as clear a tone as Tim or George or Aaron

  • Does anyone know how old Tim Riley is. He is still the best even in retirment...

  • He's in his early 60's I believe and yes he is still retired.

  • Bass singers...take notes at how to an Aflat...there's none better than Tim!

  • BamaMTA...you know your gold city tunes...your camera was right there when Tim's chorus (and later Jay's chorus) came up.

    Great post!

  • Well, since a friend at church bought me their Acapella Gold CD I haven't really listened to anything else. I have some Perry's stuff, some Florida Boys, but when it came down to something to listen to I always reached for the Gold City CD. I have every CD since that time. There newest one is as good as anything they've ever done.

  • Bass singers take out your note pad and take notes!! Tenors listen and learn!!! Amazing still!!:) lead and baritones, Just listen!! absolutely amazing!!!

  • Ohh yes! They still sound amazing!

  • I was so there!! They did awesome!!

  • wow they're pretty good, they should start group together and hit the road! :p

  • put some more videos up please

  • Sorry, this is all I have. Check Hawkeye315 channel to see more of the same concerts.
