  • Ram is random access memory and audio ram saves thr audio to ur ram so its better imo

  • how do you save the video onto a file?

  • i turned on scrub and all that. but when i drag my mouse across the timeline, it's really laggy...and i tried to avoid it, but whenever i try dragging, a lot of the times it gets out of sync and messes up the whole animation...

  • For some reason, whenever I load a wav file, the first 3.5 seconds are completely silent. I've tried searching on google and on the blenderartists forums and haven't found anything helpful. Does anyone know why this is happening? I'm using 2.49 on Windows XP.

  • @regarozeve1 It Could Be A Slow Computer, But If You Have A Fast Computer It Might Be A Problem With Your Media Player, For Instance It Might Not Be The Newest Version Or It Might Of Gotten Some Sort Of Audio Playing Error

  • A more effective way I've found is to record a video at the same time and use that and the audio. Movements are much more natural when based off actual movements.

  • Ward, have you tried Papagayo to Blender? If so, what was your experience? Is it better to do it all manually?

  • Whenever i have a question about blender i look for your videos, they are always easy to follow and answer all my questions and more! Thanks alot, and Good work!!

  • What about the Python Scrips "BlenderLipSyncho"?

  • You will have to model each phoneme using Shape keys. I too am trying to find a way to do that using the bones.

  • Thank you so much! This is a great tutorial!

  • What can help with lip synch (what proffesional animators do with movies) is shoot a video of the speaker, while recording the voice, and use the video as a reference background.

  • Hey.. the Audio(RAM) isn't for importing a special audio format.. If you do Audio(RAM) as it loads you sound file into RAM, you can see the waveform.. thats it. nice tut though.. :)

  • where did you got the sound from, cuz i want to make a lip syncing but i can`t take a good sound.

  • Just record yourself saying something. By the way, he recorded his own voice for the synch.

  • That's very helpful and kind of you. I never know the use of scrub before. It really ease my work.

  • sir... you are really a light to a blind like us .... thanks and more power..

  • great tutorial. thanks again. one question though. would it have helped to have a written out traditional dope sheet for the dialogue?

  • yeah that might help if you don't know exactly what they're saying. since i recorded it myself, i knew what was coming, so i didn't come up with a sheet.

  • i was thinking though it would be good to have one even if you know what's being said. because with the tradition dopesheet you know at what frames each word or even sylable (however you spell it) is being said. so not as much having to go back and forth with the tweaking.

  • hey where did you go to school or learn to do all of this and is or was your major in animation and last have you done any movies or anything or just shorts i saw the frog and snail ones which was pretty cool

  • well i have a bachelor's in graphic design, but i self-taught all my 3D knowledge with online tutorials and just playing with the software .

    thanks :)

  • Nice video!

Do you have any experience with shape keys? If so, do you recommend doing lipsynch with shape keys or with armatures like you did in this video?

    Question about the action editor:

Let's say you add a new pose, now you want to get rid of it (not just making the character doing a different pose, but just deleting the whole datablock)?

  • if you de-select the "F" button beside the X (delete) and then click the X again, it will remove it from your model. if you look at your action list, you'll see a "O" beside it, and once you save your scene, and open it back up, that particular action should be gone.

  • oh, and about the shape keys, yes i have used them before, but i find them to be sort of limiting. i like a rig setup better, because it gives you more versatility on what expressions you can make

  • Okay, I get it! :) Thank you! I guess, I too will go with doing lip synching with bones instead of with shape keys.

P.S. Any particular reason of any kind why you applied the copy rotation\location to the tongue and lip bones?

  • just used it so the mouth was even and i didn't have to line things up twice :D

  • AH! I see! ;)

  • this is freaking amazing

    thank you so much

  • first view and comment! XD. i have a question for you Ward. Are you a youtube partner?

  • why yes i am :)
