  • plyometric push ups are awesome.. i read about them for the first time about three or four years ago in muscle and fitness. did them two times before my next bench day and my max increased by 15lbs. i was excited as hell and have been throwing them in my routine at least once a week

  • Man,I have to notice u have the best body of all the guys that are showing excercise programs! Tell me what excersise is the REALY BEST for fast abs, but without going to the gym? :)))

    I excercise bodyweight and look good,but have problems with stomach muscles ;)

  • @martinarhitekt I have never in my life done abdominal exercises. The best way to build them is heavy deadlifts and squats and then to get your body fat low enough to reveal them. If you still cant get them to show through you may be holding to much water. Cut out the sodium as much as possible because it makes you hold water and that makes your skin look loose

  • Dang dude... As physiques go I think you have the perfect all around body. In a sense of strength, agility, and just plain looks. Looks as in not overly muscular like say Jay Cutlers size. Have you done photo shoots for magazines? I know I have seen you somewhere before, and not on youtube.

    When you train your push / pull vertical and horizontal alternate days, are you training sets to failure? If so, on low reps 4-6, or higher 10-12?

    Some of your longer controlled labs vids show low reps but not what I'd consider maxed out on the last rep? (or you hide the pain well)

    You say you train up to 10 times a week. Almost everyone suggests rest days for recovery every other day. You train a sore body part?

    P.s your vids are killer motivation. They are the difference from hitting the snooze button and getting up every day to train.

    Yes I do train through sore body parts. One thing is that when you hit body parts or movements with more frequency, there is less DOMS (soreness). I split my workouts into vertical pull/ push, horizontal push/ pull and lower body (either quad dominant or hip dominant movements and accessories). Each of these workouts I try to do at least twice per week. Once in awhile I will do arms alone and lately have been throwing in a day where anything goes... oly lift, complexes or just abs.

  • @timbahwolf Yeah, i assisted one of my professors (i am studying for my masters in Exercise Science) conduct a test on DOMS affect on performance, and it actually has little to not affect (the study is not published yet, we are doing all the write ups and red tape stuff, but we tested a few hundred individuals) so As long as you are recovering from each workout, then working through "soreness" is usually a good thing as DOMS actually decreases with further exercise for some individuals!

  • @vFighterHD Either you aren't warmed up enough or it's too hard. Since you can only do three, start off with regular pushups and go from there.

    Close to 30 years. I started working out when I was 12 or 13. Wasn't as consistent in my 20's but after 30, have only missed 2 weeks in a row. Even then, did callisthenics, shadowboxed and skipped. Its just about consistency.

  • @timbahwolf You are exactly right, it's all about consistency. Any workouts that anyone does should be something they do for the rest of their lives. Even if they dont put maximum effort into it, over a period of time, they will see their bodies change. Great work man.

    I think even Bill Starr said something similar.... that its better to be consistent on a poor program than inconsistent on a great program.

  • I do these all the time. I set the bar at about 18-24in. Its great for burn outs at the end of chest day. Gets some stares in the gym too.

    On Facebook, I've posted sample screen shots of my fitday. Generally I go relatively low carb...100-150g during the week with a carb up of 300 and up on Saturdays and cheat on Sundays.

  • I'm not sure I understand the purpose of this exercise...what makes it any different than a regular pushup?

  • @djbryce It's an explosive movement rather than a slow controlled movement. It activates fast-twitch muscle fibers.

    Doing explosive movements like these increase how fast your muscles react. Or how fast you're able to "explode" through a movement.
