why is it called fake book?

@zaap Fake book is a collecton of songs written with only melody lines and chord notation for left hand. It is easier to read from fake book than from regular sheet music since you do not need to read left hand notes.

@pianomother I thought it was called that because it's not the exact sheet music.
As in, you would make other people believe you can play the piece, while actually you are just mimicing it.
