Don't think so, and if yes, not by much. It's paired with the 100 coin star I think, and you have to hit the blue coin switch, kill some goombas, etc. I mean, it might help you ground pound the blue switch faster or something, but other than that, I am not sure as of yet. I just BLJed into the water, and my speed goes to 0 after several frames, so I don't know if it's the BLJ, I havn't tested actually getting it to work yet.

I tested it , it happens that mario keeps hyperspeed momentum even underwater, and pressing Z at the first frame he starts walking makes him keep that speed. It's done by diving and start swimming after a blj.

I think it's possible to hit the switch earlier. Not much but some frames... maybe.
