  • @fifthgenerationdeb, do you know anyone stupid enough when offered Heaven to choose hell instead? Meet Amy Grant.

Why are you arrogant enough to think that by vainly attempting to disparage God's disciples you can eliminate God's Word? It did not work for Herodias, why should it work for you?

Why do you think that anyone can go on in disobedience of God, committing adultery without consequence despite what God says about the eternal fate of such sexually immoral? [1Cor6:9] How foolish!

  • God is The most beautiful...

  • God says (James4:4): Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

    See (1Cor6:9).

(Rev22:14-15): Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.

  • seekah1 says: Please stop.

But, God says (Luke19:40): "I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out."

And (Mark13:31): "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away."

And John12:48): He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him - the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.

  • godsman15 (with small "g") contradicts God's Word, falsely claiming: even if the marriage was a second marriage..

But God unambiguously states that Amy is in an on-going, unrepentant, disobedient continuing state of adultery: (Mark10:12), (1Cor7:10-11), (Rom7:2-3).

If two people have sexual relations, can only one commit adultery? (Luke16:18)

God says those who love Him keep His commandments (John14:23). Unrepentant adulteresses go to hell (1Cor6:9), (Heb10:26-27), (James4:4), (Rev22:14-15).

  • I am not worthy Lord but i adore and love you...Thank you Jesus the ultimate sacrafice that set me free from the sting of wordly death

  • godsman15 (with small "g") says: which leads me to believe she repented.

But, God tells us (1Cor7:10-11): Now to the married I command, yet not I but the Lord: A wife is not to depart from her husband. But even if she does depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband. And a husband is not to divorce his wife.

Repentance means to turn from sin and obey God. If Amy had repented, she would not stay in the adultery that God says she is committing. (Heb10:26-27) pertains.

  • God says katkollmer is an unrepentant adulteress (John14:24), (1Cor7:10-11), (Mark10:12), (Rom7:2-3). He says such adulteresses have no inheritance in His Kingdom (1Cor6:9).

Such adulteresses as Herodias seek the head of God's messenger, or hide from God's Word, ignore Him, deny Him, or pervert what He says. They band together, and tell each other they are OK when they are not. If, like Amy Grant, they use their celebrity to lead little children into their sin, (Luke17:2) describes them.

  • God says (Mark10:12): If a woman divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.

Did Amy divorce her husband to "marry" another woman's husband?

God commands (1Cor7:10): To the married I command, yet not I but the Lord: A wife is not to depart from her husband. But even if she does depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband.

Is Amy unmarried or reconciled to her husband?

Repentance means to turn from sin. No repentance means (Heb 10:26) pertains.

  • hammerandnails777 says: there is forgiveness...in Yeshua always

Well, h&n777, please tell us then:

    Why was Judas Iscariot lost?

Why is the devil bound for the lake of fire?

    Why hell at all?

    Why commandments?

Why does God give certain people over to their lusts and their own counsel?

Why does God tell us that there is sin for which there is no forgiveness, no sacrifice?

Why does He tell us what He does at (Heb 6:4-6)?

Ignorance is not bliss. Leading folks to a false god wins no crowns.

  • hammerandnails777 says: if I know Adonai well.....HE FORGIVED HER...!!!

But, hammerandnails777, God told the woman caught in adultery to go and sin no more; He did not tell her to go on committing adultery if it felt good, made her rich and happy.

Christ says (John 14:24): He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father's who sent Me.

(1John3:6): Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.

  • Yeshua died for us to forgive our PAST...PRESENT....AND ...FUTURE SINS!!!

Let's not judge so quikly. Or be self righeous....Cause...it can happen to any of us....

Let us look at ourselves first, because many are guilty of idolatry which is worse....

To those who judge by man judgement....are you so holy and pure???

    Have you "arived"??

    Show the good works....Be merciful....

  • Christ Jesus asks (Luke 6:46): But why do you call Me Lord, Lord, and not do the things which I say?"

(Matthew 15:7-9): "Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying:

These people draw near to Me with their mouth,

And honor Me with their lips,

But their heart is far from Me.

And in vain they worship Me,

Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.

(James 4:4): Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God?

  • 1970louis323 says: Right now she is married.

To whom? What did John the Baptist and Christ Jesus say about Herodias?

Vermont says that Adam is married to Steve. What does God say about that? (Romans1:26-27)

(James 4:4): Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

When does an unrepentant serial murderer begin to abuse Gods grace?

    (Psalm81:12) (Romans1:28)

  • tam0523 says: amy grant is not a sinner.

But, God says that Amy Grant is living in an unrepentant, on-going state of adultery (Mark 10:12) and (1Corinthians 7:10-11). He further says that adulteresses have no inheritance in the Kingdom of God (1Corinthians 6:9).

Amy needs to repent, and to obey God's Word and will, if it is not too late (Hebrews 6:4-6).

  • There more than what the eye can see Sween9261! It's so easy pointing your finger.....but you don't nothing of the struggle she went through or her personal relationship with God!

In my experience it's usualy people with hidden "sins" or people that just haven't had many personal battles to fight yet, that make comments like yours.....

So good to know that Gos sees our heart and forgives our faults and foolish mistakes!

    Grtz. Jannet

  • 1970louis323 says: you don't nothing of the struggle

But, 1970louis323, all can see she does not love God. Christ says whoever loves Him keeps His commandments (John14:23,15), those who don't, do not (John 14:24). People born of God do not keep sinning (1John3:9); all who keep sinning have not seen Him nor know Him (1John3:6). Were Amy not such a hypocrite singing "Our Father's Eyes," shed see the immeasurable pain caused to her husband, Janis Gill and her little daughter Jenny, and to God!

  • You say she continues to live in sin,but Gary married twice after their divorce.

    Why is she the hypocrite?

I know him being married again does not make her a bettter person...but it does mean she doesn't live in sin the way you say. Even if divorcing Gary was the biggest sin she ever committed,.like I said...the guy is married to somen else now....so what should she do now to make it right ? Divorce Vince? I dont think so.

Mistakes were made, but it's time to look forward, not backwards

  • 1970louis323 says: "You say she continues to live in sin."

But, 1970louis323, what I say, or you, or the world, does not define sin -- God does! He did not tell the woman caught in adultery to go on committing adultery if it felt good, made her rich and happy. Unambiguously, God says that Amy Grant is unrepentant (Mark 10:12) and (1Cor7:10-11).

Your pointing to anyone else's sin in no way justifies sin -- not Amy's, not yours, not anyone else's. Did you not read the Scriptures in my response?

  • And what does the bible say she should do now? She can;t go back to her first husband.....should she divorce Vince, leave him and their child?

What I mean is, no matter how wrong you are at one point, how big your sins....there is forgiveness!! That;s what Jesus died for!! And if Amy asked forgiveness I'm sure God forgave her, or was Jesus'death not for Amy? And reason for poiting to Gary was not for the sin, but to say she could not go back even if she wanted.

  • @1970louis323, I asked if you read the Scripture that I referenced; apparently not. Christ Jesus says STOP SINNING! Amy is sinning. What does (John 14:3, 23-24) say about that? What does (1John 3:6 and 9) say about that? Most importantly, what are the implications in (Hebrews 6:4-6)?

Why can't you hear God's directions?

Why do you think one person's repentance depends on what someone else does? Why do you think that there is redemption without repentance? Was Christ's Advent in vain?

  • I'm asking: What does the bible say about HOW she should stop sinning? What is her sin? That's she should not have been divorced? That she should not have married again? Right now she is married, so is stopping the sinning getting out of that marriage? Thats my question. As you seem to know so many verses, about what God wants, you prob know that too? I can't find a verse that says she should leave, only that she needs forgiveness for past mistakes.I'm sure she and God solved that between them.

  • @1970louis323, you say that you are sure she and God solved that between them. How are you so sure? Did God change His Word?

Some adulterers and adulteresses here seek, like Amy, to deny God's Word, or they want the heads of God's messengers on a platter (as if that somehow would vindicate or justify their sin) while others seek God and heed Him.

    (Matthew 15:7-9) (Luke 6:46)

  • How come you are so sure God and Amy didn't solve it between them?

Seems to me, no matter what she does or say now, you will always see her as an adulteres. so there's no point in discussing this any further.

Thank God Jesus died for ALL our sins!

Including mine , including Amy's!! You must be without any sin....feeling so convidante to keep throwing stones at Amy!

  • @1970louis323, I have answered your questions with Scripture. They are not my words, they are God's. By contrast, you have answered none of my questions to you.

God told the adulteress to go and sin no more; He did not tell her to go on committing adultery if it felt good, made her rich & happy. He was not casting stones, though He is the cornerstone (1Peter 2:8): "and 'A stone of stumbling And a rock of offense.' They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed."

  • You use a lot of scripture yes, but it's YOU who judges about Amy. You seem so sure about what she has done and is doing and that's she not forgiven! You can't know that! God sees her heart, hears her prayers, you don't! All you see is that she got divorced (you also know why??) and remarried, something you seem to think God can never forgive. If at one time she has truly asked forgiveness it is gone forever...washed away!! And that's bewteen her and God! Who are you to dig it up again?

  • @1970louis323, why have you refused to answer the questions I put to you? Why don't you even try to answer the questions which God asks in the Scripture I have cited? Why not read the Scripture I have cited? Why do you deny it, or try to attribute it to me instead of to God? Why does God give commandments? Why does He say He appeared? Why do people go to hell? Why does God say what He does at (Hebrews6:4-6)? Why does God give people over to their own lusts and counsel? Why no answers?

  • I don't deny it, I just think it's a pity you use Gods word only as a fingerpointer. You see, I believe my sins are washed away, ALL of them, and God will not remember them!! Now I don't know 'bout Amy's relationship with God, but neither do you!

But if she asked forgiveness and help in solving the mess this divorce created, who are you to keep digging in her past?

  • @1970louis323, your refusal to answer even one of the many questions put to you shows that God's Word is wasted on you. It's one's ETERNITY that matters, and since no one is guaranteed tomorrow in this realm, one's PRESENT status is key, especially if Heb6:4-6. The whole earth can see Amy's disobedience. It is a shame for her celebrity to deceive the lost as well as the merely unwary. At this point, 1970louis323, your refusal to hear God's Word tells me it's my time to heed (Mark 6:11).

  • @Sween....You remind me of me when I was self righeous....until....Yeshua borught me to my knees....and showed me how wreched I really was....

Be careful how you judge, cause you do not judge with righeous judgement.....YOU are the one who judges, not God...May she sat at the feet of the master...brought her alabaster box, and pour her perfume on Him....and ...if I know Adonai well.....HE FORGIVED HER...!!!

    God bless you...

  • @1970Louis323...I commend your patience with sween9261....May God help him to be humble......

Thank you for being such a sweet spirit...!!

I learn something from you...cause..I would have say some bad words....LOL

    Yeshua bless you richly...!

    Shalom

  • @Hammerandnails777: I bet I have thought of some of the words you wanted to say.....LOL, but more than angry, it just makes me sad when I see someones head so full of Gods word, but I can't see Gods love in his heart.......

I'm just so thankfull that I now know God as a loving and forgiving Father, not because I'm such a do-gooder, nut because Jesus died for my sins!!

    Gos bless you!!

    Jannet

  • @1970louis...Yes Janet, I'm done with him.

According to him, nobody will make it in the kindom, just the perfect ones...LOL..

I am so grateful to our Yeshua for dying for us...for him too...May God bring him to repentance...

    Thank you...

Love and peace from the Father and from our Lord Yeshua haMassiach..

May he bless your kind heart

    Shalom

    Ariel

  • hammerandnails777 says: According to him, nobody will make it in the kindom(sic)

Well, hammerandnails777, considering how you persist to put words in my mouth, no wonder you try to do the same thing to God! Your approval of bearers of false witness and unrepentant liars and adulterers whom God says have no inheritance in His Kingdom (1Cor6:9) does not bode well for your standing or discernment. God speaks for Himself, and that includes (1Cor7:10-11), (Heb10:26-27), and (John8:47). Heed Him!

  • Then she realized there is no money in this and became a pop star...

  • She became a Millionaire from it (one of the first in Contemporary Christian music) and she was doing it for 14 years.

She signed with a secular label when her Christian label refused to publish her newer music which they denounced as "too worldy (secular) sounding".

You can see it in some of the clearly Christians songs on her breakthrough 1991 Pop album : Hope Set High, Ask Me. But it is clear that overall she wanted to explore different subject matter and sounds and her label objected.

  • Contemporary Christian Music and Gospel is probably one of the most lucrative music genres out there today. Problem now is there's folks who not sincere believers who are following the money trail...to Nashville.

  • This word is just as strong today as it was yesterday, It hold time

  • CHAMI!

  • CHAMI viD

  • Chaminade HS what up?!

  • Essa é uma canção de adoração sincera, por isso toca o coração de todos os cristãos:

    This is a faithful song of worship, so, this is the reason this song rtouchs the heart of every christian;

  • OliverZTwist we are all sinners! We are all living in gross sin. But Once we Humble and repent Through Jesus Christ we are all forgiven even Amy Grant. It is not are job to judge or criticize.

  • Praise The Lord this still so blessed .

  • amy grant is not a sinner

  • EVERYBODY IS A SINNER.

  • Well said!

  • El Shaddai. We will praise and lift You high!

Through the years You've made it clear,

That the time of Christ was near,

    Though the people couldn't see

    What Messiah ought to be.

Though Your Word contained the plan,

    They just could not understand

Your most awesome work was done

Through the frailty of Your Son.

  • What a beautiful praise song. I will praise You til I die!

El Shaddai is normally translated as "God Almighty".

    Through your love and through the ram, You saved the son of Abraham;

Through the power of your hand,

Turned the sea into dry land.

To the outcast on her knees,

You were the God who really sees,

    And by Your might,

    You set Your children free.

  • i love this version....it sounds so pure and her accent when she sings is so beautiful.....God bless u...........JESUS REIGHNS SUPREME

  • they played this song at my cousins funeral a few months back it was her favorite song i miss her :(

  • I'm so sorry for the loss of your cousin. What a beautiful song to have played at the service for her. She's watching you in heaven, and perhaps that is of a comfort.

  • thank you

  • you're quite welcome and please be well

  • Alleluia El Shaddai

praise to You alone, forever and forever

    Amen

  • I have but one question for you all. Do you wish to debate doctrine or believe in the Lord our God. The bottom line is our God is love and love is God. Jesus came to earth in human from and died for our sins, both Jew and Gentile alike. To accept his forgiveness we only need to accept him for what he is and what he did for us. How easy is that? Who is holy, who reaches more, who hates who? Doesn't even matter, when in the long run we are all subject to our own choices. blessings to all

  • Are you Amalekite? If so, good thing you weren't born in the time of Saul. Poor babies? I thought you critics of religious people loved abortion? Sounds like you've got selective thinking and choose to forget the scriptures that say to show mercy to the foreigner and stranger. I am sure the Amalekites were not busy making the world a better place when God commanded the Hebrew nations to do that. El Shaddai commands a lot of things in specific contexts, not random acts of killing silly person

  • Nope. I don't like baby killing under any circumstance at all. To you baby killing becomes ok when your evil god commands people to do it. You religious nazi. You just defended the killing of little babies! Too bad your stupid god doesn't know or followe his own law:

Fathers shall not be put to death for their children, nor children put to death for their fathers; each is to die for his own sin." [deut 24:16]

Tell your evil stone-age war god it is wrong to command people to kill babies.

  • Since you seem to have a rudimentary knowledge of the text try reading it in context, next time. I would not follow a dictator, God gives us free will to obey Him or flesh or satan, & those actions lead to their own reward. Then bitter people people blame God for not controlling all the bad things. You have free will too. If blaming peoples past on the present was wrong for God to do then why are you doing it now? God does not tell people to kill babies. That is a lie from the master of hate.

  • So would you use your free will to choose to obey this command?:

This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'I will punish the Amalekites for what they did to Israel when they waylaid them as they came up from Egypt. Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy everything that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.' [1 Samuel 15:2-4]

The context of the text is that your god commanded people to kill babies.

  • @exodus21v20 It also said that the Amalekites and the other nations often sacraficed their own children. which is backed by most discoveries of ancient civilizations and that Israel was to get rid of them before they taught these evil practices to their children. if they had left them they would have died and taught Israel to do these practices. so the kids probably would have died anyway. only at their parents hand. kinda gross

  • @exodus21v20 it also said that the Amalekites practiced child sacrifice and a lot of other sick practices.and that they were to get rid of them so that they wouldn't teach those practices to Israel. so the children would have died anyway.but Israel's kids would have too. just from their own parents.kinda sick.

  • @yup12341000

So if you rescued a baby from abusive parents, would you think it's ok to murder the baby since the parents would have done it anyway? You are a sick evil person for justifying murdering babies. There's no way the amalekites killed their children. If they killed all of their children there would be no more Amalekites. Israel already practiced child sacrifice ( Judges 11:34-40), they needed no further lessons. Their father Abraham was praised for attempting to kill his son.

  • Just kidding =)

  • I am a Christian and have never criticized Jews for what they believe. They hold to the new testament as do I. I have acknowledged that they do not accept Christ as their savior, but I do not criticize them for it. I know that in prophecy, God will reveal that his Son Jesus is in fact their Messiah. In the meantime, I believe the Jews are still God's chosen people to reveal His will to the world. Christians that know their bible would never criticize them.

  • most christians dont hate the Jewish nation nor our beliefs, and technically, it was our race, the Hebrew nation and the roman nation, that killed Jesus. I am Hebrew by birthrite and find you drunken rant ignorant and sad, learn how to have an intelligent drunken argument.

  • You may also buy them from among the children of aliens among you, or from their families, whom the begot in your land. These shall become your property: you may keep them as a possession for your children, for them to inherit as property for all time. Such you may treat as slaves. Lev 25:44

If a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod and he dies at his hand, he shall be punished. If, however, he survives a day or two, no vengeance shall be taken; for he is his property. Ex 21:20-21

  • i frekin LUV this song its so beautiful

  • El Shaddai means God Almighty in Hebrew. Which means God Almighty is JESUS CHRIST!!!

  • and yet she will have more impact on the world than you ever will.

  • don't you forget that first one will be last and the last one will be first. i tell you the truth the the least of those is greater in the kingdom of heaven.

  • Abraham was a powerful man when he was on Earth and his name now is beyond famous (He also is an authority in Heaven as you can see in the story of the rich man and Lazarus). David was a wealthy king and his name now is also beyond famous

Who had more of an IMPACT on world history than the disciples? Yet Jesus tells the disciples they will sit with him on thrones in the kingdom.

Life is about impacting other people and reaching the world, not sitting in a room by oneself being "Holy"

  • ribadisco ke è una vera merda!!!

  • Gotta love Michael W. Smith in that striped shirt! LOL!

  • amen to tht chamy-pride

  • Isn't she a Christian singer? I thought she cheated on her husband for years with Vince Gill.

  • I do know that the Christians in church wince at hearing Amy Grant's name. She did taint her name with some thing stupid and perhaps it was a scandal that you mention I know there was some mess up in her part. I just wanted to hear the song and I don't know for sure just yet if it was Amy who sang the version I am looking for or not.

The version I heard was not this one. What I am looking for was better done.

  • I think when it comes to her career decisions, while not necessarily bad. And Christians shouldn't hold it against her. As Jesus once said "He who is without sin, cast the first stone."

  • Well remember that this is a live performace, it may explain why it may sound different if Grant was the singer you heard. Grant's original album version of this song is the most famous recording in Contemporary Christian music history. Michael Card (i belive the orginal writer) also did a popular version, but i guess you could tell a guy from a woman lol. If you are thinking of another version it must have been a rather low profile version.

  • this song realy coool i just love it thank you

  • I love this beautiful song.

  • Kellenberg Memorial High School classic, love this song <3

  • awesum song

im dancing to this song for my art show, in a catholic skool

this is like, the only christian song i actually like

i hav it on my ipod =] haha

  • My Fav song till date.

    God Bless!

  • this is orgasmic

  • Ha...that just goes to show that if you are going to profess Christianity you better live by the Book or else everyone will view you as a hypocrite.God is not a God of compromise...he wont compromise his Word for Amy Grant or anyone else who profess to know him and love him but yet live sinful and adulterous lives.

  • And if you are going to LIVE Christianity you have to admit that you CAN'T live by the Book without flubbing it up all the time. That's why Christ came...as a ransom for many. You're correct in saying that God does not compromise God's Word and if we were all perfect we wouldn't need the Word OR God - we would be God. Admitting that we are not God, but human and subject to sin is what frees us to accept our ransom set up for us BY GOD before time began.

  • El shaddi is the saprdic word for the star of david she id right about the other two words in hebrew it is the most beautiful song I have heard in a long time

  • this song touched me 15 years ago....and it still touches me....Thank you Lord.

  • I agree with ttomray123. Oh Halloranhill, let he without sin cast the first stone! He is a wonderful God and He loves her as well as you and me. Let's not judge. It is not your place to judge her. We all have sinned and fallen short. Let's start now by acknowledging that we are not perfect and God forgives us even though. If He can forgive you, He can forgive her too. :::smiles:::

  • Halloranhill....judge not lest you be judged.. let any of you who is without sin cast the frist stone....vengance is mine saith the Lord...need i say more?? Let the Lord judge!! Have love for others, understanding, and patience...they are still children of God. even osama bin laden is a child of God...even hitler, even fidel castro.. God does not expect us to be perfect. and ..maybe she has repented...isnt that between her and God?? it is none of your business.

  • :D.for so long i've wanted to hear dis song.lol.shud have checked here long ago.wonderful song

  • such an amazing video ... hugs rachael

  • Beautiful song God bless! Thanks for posting Rachael ~rajesh

  • If true then she needs to get right with God. I always found though that point the finger at others leaves 3 fingers point back at you.

  • You are a fool. How dare you judge her? What do you really know of her? What you read in the newspapers and gossip colums? get a life. Are you "worthy" to sing this song? Are somebopdy who has it all together? Now grow up.

  • Christians are not perfect, just forgiven.none of us know who is right with God,only God and the person knows this!

  • Amy Grant's music she drew more people to God than any other musician in history. Her music is all positive, and the people who criticize her or some of her music are not the real cristians. Halloranhill should stop wasting the time God has given to him to belittle others and use it to be a healer rather than a critic. Amy Grant has changed many more lives than this pathetic fool ever will. I'm sure he hasn't lead a perfect life except if his neme is Jesus.

  • Who are you to judge her?

Oh, that's right. You are not worthy to judge her.

  • Why should you hear it when she repents. That is between her and God, not for a hypocrite like yourself to hear.

  • Praise the Lord our GOD!

  • the video reminds me of seeing her in Anderson IN at Camp meeting when we were kids ... i knew she was great then ... i lost track of her for years but my daughter wanted to hear Amy sing the song ... what a better place to hear it then here ... thans for posting it
