  • i love Aardman so bad !!! And amazing how that's you! !! I love Aardman with all my heart! I really respect them :)

  • Heh, I remember fast-forwarding the video past all these sections to get to the... devil handbag thing? When I was a kid, these bits were dead boring lol

  • Thanks for the info I'm glad things have turned out well for you.

  • Thanks for the interesting backstory to this clip! I remember watching this when I was about 5 years old and not quite understanding what was going on. Really pleased to have stumbled across it again!

  • Hi, I recently brought the DVD. I wish you the very best.

  • which one are you?

  • Hi I'm the one with the jacket and red top and the stand-up blond hair,

    Thanks Steve

  • Steve, thanks for this. I recorded this on video with the rest of the series in 1984 when i was 17. i was in the 6th form and i kept the video to show to friends throughout the years. we used to be able to quote the whole thing start to finish!

it's great to hear from the man himself and glad you got to see your brother.this has such good memories for me.

  • Interesting story Steve,I worked for em for a bit when they were making "Rex the Runt" in the late 90's. I prefered their early stuff before it all got commercial(W/G etc).

If you like this genre of Animation then you should check out "the bollex brothers". They're another Animation company located near the Aardman studios. Their work is lot darker, good examples can be seen with Radiohead's "There There" video and also a stop motion film called "the secret misadventures of tom thumb".

  • wow, you worked on rex the runt, that's my favourtie what was it like to work for richard "golly"?

  • bring back the angry kid

  • wow, i'm glad you told us what happened in the end, i was wondering whether he got to see his brother or not

    thanks for posting

  • I love all the little movements they do, the little details really made this all the more awesome to watch; it was like watching real people!!

  • Aardman is awesome!!!

  • ohh wow i remember this XD it aired on the 'locomotion' station a few years ago over here (but i didn't know what it was called)

  • Ha! I first saw this one when the Aardman Classics DVD came out years ago (though I had to order it from the states anyway since sure's hell this wouldn't get released here anyway). I often wonder where they did get the audio for these "Conversation Pieces" and didn't expect anything to come out of their inital airings this way (I find it amusing how topical some like "Early Bird" and "Late Edition" can be 25 years down the road).

  • cool. I love aardmans early work. Cant believe they paid you £250 just to be recorded.
