This guy cannot possibly be related in any way to Oral Roberts or his hideous family. Oral's genes are 100% hillbilly, redneck, ignorant, and sleazy. I'd say this guy is definitely adopted. Or maybe some pediatric nurse got the beds mixed up in the maternity ward.
Thank you, Randy, for having the courage to share this heartfelt and personal message. Recognizing that God celebrates the presence of all (underlined, all) love is such a long journey for some of us. But absolutely worth staying on the path.
Being gay is not a sin,,, the bible only stated that haveing sex with the same sex is a sin ,not the person,,,,,,,,,, its ok To be Gay u guys, just come to God and accept Jesus Christ in ur hearts~~ like i have,,, GB
ok the whole thing about being put to death and stoning people to death is absoulutly destroyed n we must not go by that law for Jesus christ (God) came to destroy that!!!!!! and for us to love one another nad to support eachother n Grow in the faith,, and to be forgiven of all sin
The most moving presentation I've ever heard. It's incredible what the church has done to gay people, how many they've driven into the streets. The best musicians, many of the greatest singers, teachers. Being a ministers son who is gay is one of the heaviest burdens anyone can carry. Posts here where people immediately start preaching explain why many still suffer, who think like Ronnie did, that all is lost. But this message is not for them. I wept. I can relate. RIP Ronnie. Tell it Randy.
I will be praying for you, Randy, because unlike so much of your family, I recognize that the love that Jesus taught was above all else, above the hate and recriminations. I recognize that being who you are, and feeling what you feel can never be wrong as long as you love others as you love yourself. God bless you, sir, and I'm so sorry for everything you've been put through: it's not just and it's not holy.
Randy: Keeping it strong and proud in memory of Uncle Ronnie. Keep on going in life where he cannot go. Love yourself and who you are...embrace your heart for yourself and Uncle Ronnie. It's gonna get a lot better for you...and through you for him.
I dont even understand why christians read the Leviticus. Isnt it a Jewish text? If we listen to the Leviticus's view on homosexually doesnt it mean we have to stop eating pork too? WTF.
Oral Robert's number one best video was the 'anus' sermon. He went on and on about the anus and didn't know how to pronounced the word correctly. I highly recommend watching it.
I grew up going to a church that doesn't embrace gays & needless to say, I had a hard time with my sexuality & faith. It was not until I fully appreciated what Jesus had done for me that actually helped me to love myself to acceptance. I do not believe that being gay is wrong. It is the law preaching religious church that condemns & has caused much torment to young gay boys discovering themselves & distorted the message of love. So just embrace yourself for who you are & it clearly gets better.
I am not gay but have had gay friends in the military and as I get older am starting to see that it is something you are born with as opposed to learning it. Sorry you guys go through so much. I have seen so much death and trauma that for me now, I just want to be a good, Decent human being. I have responded to MANY suicides as a Coroner transport tech and they are always heart breaking. Hopefully we as a people can just respect each other and find happiness in our lives.
As an outsider to the things of God. You of course would believe its something your born with. I use to think that until I met God. Even after I met God I still believed it was something you were born with. I believed it for about a year. Until one day I was pondering about the subject and then God spoke to me and said he makes no mistake. That was the end of that.
@lovethecaribbean1 That doesn't prove that we aren't born this way. Did God proceed to tell you that gay people are mistakes? No? Then you came to the wrong conclusion, buddy. I mean, how can you possibly sit there and say with a straight face that Ellen Degeneres is a mistake? Or that these two wonderful people in the video are mistakes? You apparently believed long before that all LGBT people are mistakes. Which, of course, is a hateful, non-Christian viewpoint.
I wish I could click "Like" a million times for this video. It is so beautiful, heartfelt and well-done. Our LGBTQ brethren in the conservative Evangeical community are the most at-risk people. They really need to be able to hear this message.
@TheStrong32 Sir, My question for you is sincere and asked with respect. Do you think that the churches are threatened by people who make being gay their primary identity? Maybe thats what scares them. I have a family member who is gay and would defend to the death. Again, My question is asked in the spirit of friendship. Happy new year to you.
@sgtortiz641 asked, "Do you think that the churches are threatened by people who make being gay their primary identity?"
Do I think they are? No. Do I think some Evangelicals think they are? Yes. And I believe that theirs is an irrational fear. The church is the pillar and ground of truth, and the gates of hell cannot prevail aganst it. Memers of the church have nothing to fear from the truth. The church will not be diminished by allowing everyone in this country to be equal.
Christians: You are the reason why our youth need to told it gets better. For generations your religion fostered the intolerance that is now so deeply ingrained in society and continues to do so today. How ironic that a faith that began in persecution now has mastered persecution. I have only contempt for the Abrahamic religions. Each has forgotten what is was to be the powerless victim and has become oppressors themselves. How can you preach love but practice hate? Where is God in that?
@kallistiX1 Don't give up on us just yet! The Community of Christ is a very loving, accepting worldwide church that I am very proud to be a part of. This church not only talks the talk, it also walks the walk. We practice what we preach, and we preach love, not hate. Do not paint an entire religion one color just because of a tiny blotch (Westboro Baptist Church).
@radicaldreamer927 I grew up in a Black Southern Baptist home in Ohio in the 80's. I asure you, my opinion about Christianity was formed LONG before I even knew the WBC even existed. Nor is it one tiny blotch: it is a great many stains. Your religion has done great things but to deny that there is a long tradition of persecution is just plain false. I left Christianity behind when I was 12 y/o and nothing I've heard or seen since has made me regret that decision.
@kallistiX1 True, there have been some very shady, very deplorable parts of Christianity's past that should never have happened, such as the Crusades (our own bout of terrorism), and the Catholic church screwing with the Bible in a way that I simply cannot forgive. I can't make you convert back, but I will say that the Community of Christ is doing everything it can to fill the world with love and light. (continued)
@radicaldreamer927 I don't wish to be rude so I'll simply say that the CoC may indeed have nothing but the best of intentions and I wish you all luck. However, one good brick won't fix a broken house.
@kallistiX1 I am ashamed that there are christians out there that will hate gay people. Though in order to understand a christian, you first must understand our beliefs. It is clear in the Bible, in which a true christian should base all beliefs clearly says homosexuality is a sin. As a christian we are opposed to sin, which dwells in us too. Homosexuality is no better than sleeping with people outside of marriage. What makes it damnable is a person who lives in it repentantly. Even in...
@Kushan250 ...such a state a Christian should only act out of love. There are alot of hypocritical christians out there. But the church is like a hospital, its for the sick people. You don't go to a hospital and expect to see healthy clean people, you expect to see sick people. Same thing with the church, it is filled with wretched sinners, like you and I. Hypocrites, murderers, homosexuals, liers, thiefs. But God came for the sick, not the righteous. You accuse all of christianity..
@Kushan250 for not loving, but thats a logical fallacy, your using a blanketing statement. Not all christians act like that, i assure you. It is an excuse to dismiss our teaching because it does not line up with your own, a usual tactic. If you read the Bible and knew its teaching, it would condemn homosexuality, but also preaches that we must approach it in love and carefulness. Our faith is centered around forgiveness and Christ's redemptive work, no hate should be thereYet in some
@Kushan250 places hate is present, that is because we are all sinners. We all need grace, we are no better than a homosexual or a murderer. I pray that God saves the unbelievers, just as He has saved me. That is in my prayers daily. Tell me, where is the hate in what true christianity is? To God be all the glory.
@Kushan250 I was raised in a christian houshold by religious grandparents in southwest Ohio. I understand the teaching of your religion perfectly: it used to be my own. Do not tell I do not know where christians come from, not only do I know I have been there, I grew up there. Are there good, loving christians? Undoubtedly. My mother and grandparents come to mind. Did it stop them from saying the worst things about gay people when their grandson/child was growing up? No, it did not.
@kallistiX1 Christians may indeed be loving people but everday some of those same loving people get up and spout nothing but intolerance: it's God's way or hell. Your either one of the saved or your damned. How can there be anything else? You tell this to your children, unaware of who they are and they believe and they try to to change. They pray to not be this offensive thing in the eye of God and everyday they fail. How can repent something you didn't even choose to be?
@kallistiX1 Ah, but their in lies the rub. Why would a loving God create a gay person on to tell them that they must be put death for being what they are? For christians the answer is simple: you're a sinner and you chose to be this way. For sex, for base pleasure, vanity, selfishness, lust. Forget the fact that as I child prayed that god would make me not like "those" people, I must have chose this because the word cannot be wrong therefore I must be mistaken about my entire life.
@kallistiX1 Well, I guess your book knows me better than I do. How can a mere mortal contend with the word? And just like that my humanity and your compassion goes right out the window. Rules is Rules, right? If I CAN'T play by them then to bad for me, right? You can pity me and pray for me but I've already lost the game, haven't I? Intolerance 101. Intolerance is what I have accused christians of; hate is the toxic by product that makes 13 y/o kids hang themselves. Glory, indeed.
@Kushan250 That kind of thinking is what's sad about your religion. It programs a human being into believing what's written in a book rather than your own intelligence and heart. You are more a follower of the rules in a book than your soul.I think it's because people like you are too afraid to trust yourselves and are afraid of where you are going when you die. It's a shame to live your life in this small amount of time given, constantly trying to follow a rule-book and judging others too.
@hortulanus94 And, i think if you read my statement again, you'll see that the onus of intolerance in more focused on the so-called christians and their behavior. Frankly, if it was just in the bible it would bother me but it is when it is in the people that it's a problem.
@kallistiX1 I saw a toddler playing in the middle of the street. He had gotten away from his mother unbeknownst to her. I pulled over and figured out where the child lived and rang the doorbell. The mother was shocked, but glad and thankful. Now I didn't tell the mother and warn her of her child's "play area", because I hated the mother or the child. I served warning and took action because I cared. Christians often go about it wrong, but your real fight is against God.
@johnaio I have no quarrel with your God. As far as I know, it hasn't done anything to me; for all I know it may not even exist. It is the behavior of real people that concerns me. How perfectly ludicrous to claim that you saved a child because you are religious, as if any normal person in that situation would not have done the same. It is when your 'religion' gives you people the means to persecute others and then to deny responsibility (because it's "God"will/word) that I take issue.
@kallistiX1 You're right. It's ludicrous to claim that I saved a child because of religion. Only problem, you read that into it. You didn't even come close to understanding the point. I'll say it plainly. Christians have a responsiblity to bring attention to wrong, and to express Gods good plan for man, that's if we want to please God rather than man. Just because someone corrects according to God's word doesn't mean that's hatred. It serves as a warning of the inevitable dangers
@johnaio I'm sorry but that is exactly what it means. This all comes down to the belief that you and your book are right and everyone else is wrong, so you're justified. The 'responsibility' of christians has been used as justification for all manner of bigotry and continues to be used as such today. There are groups of your kind trying to brainwash people into rejecting their sexuality, plotting to revoke civil rights and using LGBT people as a scapegoat for all the ills of America.
@kallistiX1 I'm the author of the comment and I'm saying that isn't what it means. No where in my heart am I saying that. If we refuse to hear people and tell them what they are saying and insist after being corrected then there lies the problem of misinterpreting. God is the Creator of Earth and mankind. In the beginning was the Word; was here before us. If He created all then He owns all, He calls the shots. When we create a world, then we can call the shots.
@kallistiX1 I by no means hate you, nor do I think that LGBT people are the cause of America's ills. It's much deeper than that and it doesn't start with LGBT.
@johnaio Again, I have no quarrel with your god and you may in fact be a good person. But, that does not stop your religion from actively participating and perpetuating the hate that causes LGBT youth to be bullied to death. The site alone has literally thousands of videos demonstrating that fact. This is not an isolated incident but a systematic problem. You are absolutely right about this being about misinterpretation: if your god is love someone needs to let your leaders know that.
@kallistiX1 Admittedly, I don't like the way the message is often presented without love. At the same time, I do realize that every message that doesn't agree with my position isn't synonomous with hate. I also acknowlege that there are good and bad in every arena of life. No group excluded. Often it's easier to judge others harshly and see there faults more than our own, even if we are guilty of the exact thing and sometimes worse.
@kallistiX1 I recognize my flaws. Another flaw I and most have is, 'not recognizing all my flaws'. But because I know I'm far from perfect, I go to the one who is perfect (Jesus Christ). I sure hope if I'm straying from Gods word and it's going to be bad in the end that someone sincere would say so. If scripturally based, I'm all ears. Scriptuually, I'm suppose to love you, feed you if you're hungry, bless and pray for you. But it doesn't mean go against God. That's not real love.
@johnaio I am not asking for perfection, I'm simply asking that people be allowed to be left alone. I asking that the systemic persecution of others stop. I'm asking that human being value humans more than a book. I'm asking that mothers and fathers see their children, not abominations. I'm asking that people take responsibility for a message that isn't love or even a kind warning. A message that says you chose to be a wicked thing, that you're unclean, that you should die for who love.
@kallistiX1 I hear you. If God did not exist and create us I would be all for that. But if genuine christians chose to not speak out, they too would have to give an account for not warning in LOVE as commanded. It's hard telling people the truth. These days simply to disagree with anyone is deemed as hate. The book that is highly valued was/is inspired by the One who loved you and I so much that He died and rose again for us, so that we may have eternal life back here on earth.
@kallistiX1 Of course most aren't going to acccept. Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No man comes to the Father but by me(Jesus) He also said narrow is the way that leads to eternal life and few there be that find it. Broad is the way to destruction and many there be that go in the way". It's not about any specific sin. It's about us being born with sin. All of us. Jesus said, "Except a man be born again, he can't even see the Kingdom of God. "
@kallistiX1 I realize you're probably tired of hearing the same stuff over and over, but here's the guarantee: If with a sincere heart (must be sincerely wanting truth even if it goes against current beliefs), in your quiet time with no one around, ask God if he is real and if what I'm saying is real or not. Ask Him to began to reveal Himself to you so that you don't end up with eternal regrets. You won't be able to deny the things that begin to happen. Take good care of yourself.
@johnaio You needn't have wasted your time proselytizing to me: I have alrready come to my conclusion about your religion and I think I have been quite clear on the matter. And, again, this isn't about your beliefs or your book, its about the people who follow them and their unacceptable behavior towards their fellow human beings, their communities and their families. Its about you people being and held accountable for the damage you do to living in the name of your god.
@johnaio This is about people who have been told they are less than human for being something they didn't choose and can't change. This is about people trying to force their religious views into law and statue, making others second class citizens. Harassing, bullying and brainwashing people because "god" said so. God doesn't people to take their own lives, people, stupid, flawed and yes, hateful people do. The fervor of relgious zeal does not absolve the actions nor will it.
@kallistiX1 When I first commented to you regarding a child, you totally didn't get the analogy. T. Harv Eckerd said in his book, THE MILLIONIONAIRE MINDSET, "How you do anything is how you do everything" I have been finding that more and more true. The misinterpretation of that first analogy not seeing the point and accusing me of things that were so far off, is how you are doing with christianity. You interpret correction as "less than human" Also, staying in our sin is a choice.
@kallistiX1 Christianty does not teach anyone is less than human. Again that is your interpretation. You take things to the extreme in your accusations when others don't agree with you. We all can change if we want with Gods help. Brainwashing is good if the brain is dirty and in need of cleansing. Scripture says, For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. Also, I can't force anything. Only pray and influence
@kallistiX1 No one is talking about absolving bad actions because of religious zeal. You continously clump everyone together. If I kept saying, "You people" and clump all LGBT together, you would be offended. Most every group, organization has faced persecution. You're not alone. In fact, many persecute christians even today. If you understood the things of God instead of rejecting, you would know that what the Bible says is literally unfolding today.
@kallistiX1 I could point out examples of what LGBT people have done and accuse all of the same. Now that wouldn't be fair. Either way, you don't know what your future holds in terms of coming to conclusions. Life can sometimes really shake us into reality. Anyway, youtube serves no justice in trying to be clearly understood, so you won't hear from me again in case you think it's harrassment. So I'm note tempted to reply, I blocked this. No offence. U will recall this conversation. Promise.
@johnaio I should very much like to see you or anyone for that matter try to prove the christians have been as victimized by LGBT people as LGBT people have been by christians. The very notion is outrageous. Just like the notion that brainwashing is fine if it is necessary. And who decides that, pray tell? If you think I take thing to extreme just visit any single video about LGBT people or issues on this site. If you find ONE without vile comments by christian I'll delete this account.
@johnaio You say I go too far with people who disagree with me, as if this is just a matter of opinion, but I defy you to point to one thing I have said that is not literally the truth: are christian groups and poltitician not trying to deny LGBT people their rights? Are people choosing their belief of their humanity? Have people put their children out on the streets for the sin of being who and what they are? Have I lied and said things that have not and continue to happen?
@johnaio You are correct. It starts with the New World Order/One World Government police state comming to a community near you. I can assure you gays have nothing to do with the TRUE evil in this world.
To everyone in the LGBT community- Please dont limit your relationship with God because of people. They say that when you meet God its judgement day. But God is the least judgemental and loves you no matter what! God loves you and I do too.
Randy, I hope you know what a HUGE BLESSING you are, man. I wept through the whole video. It’s the best news to know that we, LGBT, have you among us. I just wish it would take less pain in order for us to become a blessing.
Gays will be condemned for their sexual orientation when my cats sprout purple sparkly wings and fly to the moon. God, I love being gay, thanks for making me this way! :D
Our Stories, Our Lives - intersect time and time again. Loss, pain, progress, - there is no giving up on those who've left us out of fear created by others. Thanks Randy - amazing letter.
Thanks so much for this. I don't know if this was already asked, but does anyone know the name of the song & the artist at the end of the video? It brought me to tears.
Thank you for this - Your story, Randy, sadly is not a singularly unique case.
At 13, knowing so clearly that what I felt ... with no matter how many prayers (going back to when I first sensed it at 4 or 5), it seemed that there was no congruent way to "connect the dots" with God - I was clearly an abomination and should die.
Each futile attempt, or even thought, was answered with miraculous loving interactions. If only your uncle & so many kids now could feel this all-encompassing love ...
this is so sad. i'm sorry about everything you have to go through. i'm a christian, but i love and accept people. it makes me nauseated to see so many others give us a bad name. god bless
Randy, I truely appreciate your courage to share your story. I am not gay but I am a sinner at nature, and do believe in the Bible. I really believe that having homosexual tendencies are sins just as much as me having lustfull thoughts against my wife, or lying to my boss, or any disobediances that Satan the Devil can allow for us to stay away from Worshipping and having a relationship with the Creator Yahway/Jehovah. Jesus came to save us from those sins. We need him as our Rock. Jesus Saves.
The most balanced posts I've ever read. Perhaps the sides of the aisle are getting better at coming together in the love that CHRIST lived and died for. May that sincerely and purely be our guide with no agendas or assumptions clogging up the works. May the Lord teach us and may we be motivated only by love along the way. God bless you all.
Randy, I cannot judge your feelings toward your Uncle and this is a perspective that needs to be heard. We must acknowledge our anger when grieving for someone. I do know there are places where people r in too much pain and not in touch with 1. any view of a way out, and 2. this sobering message that you give. I see some response notes that seem reactive. People let's not make the mistakes of the generation before. There r so many ways to look at something. We need them all. Let's work together.
I always cross before the cross walk, sometimes skip ahead in books, and I had to stop at 7:58 t say Damn. I am a lover of life and literature and I must say that this is the most powerful thing I've heard in so long. I have never thought of the things you are saying as far as the scream and so much. If there is someone out there who feels like Randy's uncle felt, please throw a line. There are really radical crazy in a good way people around the world who will exceed your expectations n love u.
Keep in your heart that your Uncle died to make you stronger... He walks beside you holding your hand and the love you have in your heart, is the Love he never could find.... His life was still a blessing because he paved the way for you to live your life as a gay man in a Christian Community, don't turn your back on God... Man has ruined him over the years, but he loves you more every day!
The Lake of Fire is how God will put an end to Hades/ Sheol, and Death - God calls this, The Second Death. Whether this Lake of Fire is Literal, or Supernatural in meaning, it will NOT BE ETERNAL, but IS FINAL. The " UNQUENCHABLE" FIRE- means that the flames cannot be put out, WHILE it is burning, God is NOT saying the flames will NEVER BE QUENCHED- They are NOT ETERNAL!. . . GOD, and Jesus tell us HUNDREDS of times, that the UNSAVED; WILL PERISH, BE DESTROYED, EVERLASTING DESTRUCTION ( FINAL
ALL Christians really need to do some serious RESEARCH about ALL verses pertaining to people who are not saved through Jesus Christ! WHY? Because, the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek WORDS in the earliest texts, are the most pure, accurate meaning for each word. When Constantine, of the Church of Rome got ahold of the early texts- The LANGUAGE definitions weren't understood as well as they are today ( by Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek, and Latin Scholars). ALSO, because, the WORD- HELL, is an En
I'm so sorry for what your Uncle had to live through. I wonder if his parents ever took the time to ask him what his thoughts and feelings were about his being gay, and how he felt about it when he was a child? I wonder if they ever took even a moment to LISTEN, and just LOVE him? One night, while resting, I imagined one of my daughters asking if we could go for a drive, and just talk. While driving, they tell me that they are gay. WHAT WOULD my reaction BE? Immediately - God spoke to my spiri
Continued from comment below THIS one. Please read it FIRST. - .... I BELIEVE THAT GOD IS A MERCIFUL GOD, AND KNOWS EVERYTHING ABOUT EVERY PERSON, FROM BIRTH TO DEATH. HE IS ALL KNOWING- AND CANNOT BE TRICKED BY ANYONE. HE LEFT US EVIDENCE FOR HIS EXISTENCE, IN ALL THAT HE CREATED, BUT MANY CHOOSE TO DENY THIS TRUTH, BUT ARE WITHOUT EXCUSE. THESE ARE GODS WORDS, ANY ARE VERY POWERFUL. WE ALL HAVE SINS, EVEN AFTER BEING SAVED- WE STILL HAVE STRUGGLES, AND ARE IMPERFECT BEINGS. WE WERE MEAN
NO HUMAN EVER HAS THE RIGHT, OR AUTHORITY TO TELL A PERSON, THAT THEY ARE GOING TO HELL! GOD tells us, that HE is going to judge EACH of us, according to our HEART. WHY would He do this, If all He needs to judge is whether a person is saved, through Christ? GOD IS ALL KNOWING- HE knows every thought, feeling, and action we have, and He can also see what kind of CHILDHOOD each one of us has had, - GOD IS LOVE above all else- He will consider the WHOLE person, that is standing before Him on
honey my family wiill take you with open arms, screw those hicks and haters. we can adoptyou as a family gay. we have adopted all the folk who are left out.
I really am sick of seeing comments and hearing from Christians that the religion isn't bad and that the majority aren't hateful or violent. If you allow your Christian leaders to represent you this way then you are also evil. If you sit in silence and do nothing within your own church, you are responsible. I heard this somewhere: evil thrives in this world when a good person does nothing. You should be casting out people who represent you this way.
@TheNolo73 Every Christian should be like Jesus the way Jesus tells you exactly in your Bible. There is no mystery in what Jesus' writings describe how you should be, not like the ambiguity in other writings in the Bible. Throughout your history, your changes all came with violence and hatred, it's amazing! It keeps repeating to this day. A Christian, when faced with changes in society, reacts and uses the Bible for rejection of the change and violence in some form or another.Just keep praying.
@TheNolo73 I'm not a Christian, but I must point out, it just doesn't really work that way... Why do you think all the monarchies, dictatorships worked out, even when the crowd was disappointed? If a Christian disapproves of Papal authority (let's say), they may choose to become followers of a tradition that denies the sanctity of the Pope, but in all honesty, they can't really put down the Pope.
@kalacs32 You don't have to put down the Pope, lead by example and the Pope will either change or be useless. You don't have to have the Pope to be a Christian, Jesus never said you were to be granted a religion. If your religion doesn't follow Jesus, then move on. You don't have to call yourself one. There are many other Christians that don't follow the Pope either and who don't follow Christ so that's not an excuse. What you just commented is about the same as well not all of us are that way.
@TheNolo73 Well, my point really was with the Pope that he possibly could be one Christian leader who you may regard as evil, but still you can't put down, even if you disagree and deny his power. Christ, and whether you at the same time follow him, is trivia regarding the argument. "they may choose to become followers of a tradition" by that part I actually meant even Protestantism, for example, my point wasn't whether they can be Christiand still. They can of course. Sorry,if that was unclear.
@TheNolo73 My real point is, I do though believe it's a little naive to think the Pope (or any (religious/Christian) leader in power that has a little sense) can simply be put down/rendered useless/altered by leading by example.
@kalacs32 Naive? How so? Just by doing instead of praying? I think you reasoning is naive sir. I said now three times that you don't need to put any leader down, how did they get to be a leader in the first place? By having followers. Just don't follow. You act as if there's nothing a person to do which is the problem of religions, they give you a reason to do nothing by training you to sit and pray and give all responsibility and praise to God and that transfers to people who rep him.
@TheNolo73 I'm not the "sit on your ass and pray" kind of person.Plus I've realized you use Christianity and religion interchangably. Not all religions follow Christian-like dogmas. My only point is "Just don't follow " isn't necessarily gonna work.Just look at any dictatorship, as I've mentioned. Did people really like some of these so much? Were they supported the hell out of? No, and they still existed for durations at times. Some reign/power systems simply work more complex than you seem to t
@kalacs32 I like that you mentioned dictatorships. Arab Spring? Libya, Nazis, etc. They all were overthrown weren't they? People did something about it. It's been over 2000 years for Catholicism and Christianity. I don't know how long for others but long enough. I interchange because this video is about Christianity. Seeing as how you've included yourself in a religion, what are you actually doing about it? Why aren't you giving your expertise instead of giving excuses for people?
@TheNolo73 Overthrown, but over what period? Didn't they set up personal cults? Wasn't propaganda and demagoge stuff there? "Seeing as how you've included yourself in a religion" I dunno what you mean, I did mention I'm not a Christian and nothing else about my faith or its lack. I'm not giving excuses, doing something is lovely, but not if you don't think it through.
@pinkocommy1917 thank you for being the upstanding guy that you are im gay and and i know that god is with me because he blessed me to be me and that is his gift to me and you are a gift to us all god be with you always handsome!
Best wishes for your future, Randy. It's moronic to judge a man or woman by their sexuality, and I hope you and other gay people are fortunate enough to live in a world where people couldn't give a cockteel's first dump of the day what people get up to in their bedrooms
Christianity is not an evil virus. Its more of the people who call themselves "christian", yet do not act in the way according how Jesus acted toward others. We are on this earth to love one another as neighbors and brotheres and sisters of Christ (whether you believe or not). I am a Bisexual Christian and I try to follow these 6 words: Love the Sinner, Hate the Sin. I will still love my brothers and sisters, just as God loves us even when we do things that offend or hurt him. Stay Strong Randy!
Hell is other people. So is heaven. The people you surround yourself with determines which it feels like you've spent an eternity in. There is no afterlife. There is no God. There is right her, right now. You pick if you want to live with hating, malicious, evil pricks like those that follow Oral Roberts and others' words, or not. They are not going to hell. They are hell.
All people have to do now is accept that the bible was written by people back 2000 yrs or so ago and when someone quotes hatred from that book, you treat them as you would a mentally challenged, possibly dangerous person. Do everything you can to protect yourself and others from people like this.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Jesus still loves you and has no hate for you. He paid the price for your sins and mine. All of them. There is only one condition. You have to repent and receive it. Become a new creature in Christ. Let old things pass away and all things become new. God will help you with your struggles. The devil is a mean devil and knows that sexual sin is the hardest to overcome. He will not let you go easily but when you learn your authority in Christ you will defeat him in your life.
Thank you for this video. You have a beautiful spirit and I'm so sorry for your suffering. Your video moved me and I'm sure many others. I hope you were awarded custody of your kids as you seem as though you would make an amazing dad and a fantastic example as a human being for them to emulate.
The Bible is just Hebrew literature, fairy tales. May I ask: what Hebrew folklore do you know of? Ah yes: Adam and Eve, Noah's Ark, Jesus. I just hate over-religious people esp. of their anti-gay rants. They are the ones to burn in Hell.
I have come to realize over the last 10 years that "taking the Lord thy God's name in vain" is not so much about not saying God damn as it is about those right-wing "Christianists" who worship the name of Jesus and the war-like glory of God, yet totally ignore Jesus' message of love and, not tolerance, but acceptance. They are indeed taking the Lord's name in vain!
Jesus never once said ANYTHING against homosexuality! Only the old Jewish laws and the sexist bigot, Paul. wrote anything bad about the people God created gay. Jesus is ALWAYS on the side of the underdog, the outcast and the unpopular (Samaritan, women, children, prostitutes, lepers, tax collectors, outsiders of all types). If God was against his own gay creations, would he not have said something about it while he was actually here in the person of Jesus??? Of course he would have.
Randy, as a secondary teacher of Language Arts for 34 years, I feel, as best I can, the pathos with which you speak. Symbolism reveals you as the man left to die on that Jericho road until he was lovingly rescued by that good Samaritan who saw to it that the man received help and comfort and that his life was restored. May you know that there are many here who feel for you in the same way. May you be blessed in knowing you are also a Samaritan by your reaching out to others who are also hurting.
Randy, after watching this video, I have some thoughts I would like to share with you, but before I do, I would also - hopefully not in criticism but in Christian love - like to offer a few thoughts with all who have commented, whatever your feelings are to God, Christianity, judgement, secular beliefs, etc. Not as a preacher but rather a brother to all, please allow the parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-27) be the foundation of my thoughts, or using this as analogy.
If hateful folks like heavenboundcarol are going to heaven and beautiful people like the man in this video are going to hell, I look forward to hell! An eternity of that crap WOULD be hell!
Your video makes me sad, I had an aunt commit suicide when I was in 3rd grade. The reason of her suicide in April 1978, is still unknown 33 years later. Watching this video was really emotional for me.
I remember when Dr. Oral Roberts shared the terrible news on his program...we all felt very sorry for the family and the victim. Problem is...we were taught that people who committed suicide went to Hell....then suddenly, all of Dr. Roberts friends were speaking words of Heavenly Salvation to the Roberts family.
Funny how Salvation can change for itching ears eh?
Just listen to some peoples testimonies on YouTube who commited suicide, saw Hell and cried to JESUS for a 2nd chance...scary stuff
Respond to this video... Amazing, I typed "Hell" uncapitalized, and You Tube would not let me comment, I capitalized the word and I could comment. That is REALLY lame, youtube. Watch, they will let me use the word FAG. Hypocritical.
Thank you Randy Potts for your inspired letter and comments. You have done much to mitigate the hatred preached by your grandfather. Sorry for your uncle and everyone who has chosen, through dispair, this wrong path, driven by the hatred and distain of others. Happy for your choice to live and preach your own message of love - To everyone reading this, it does get better, please wait for it, don't take yourself out of this life because of the hateful rants of bigots. Thank you, Randy.
It would appear that someone has hacked this video so that it won't play. Please, someone fix this! I can play any of these other videos on the right, but not this one. Maybe a new link or posting is needed. Thought you should know. Best wishes to you Randy. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.
Randy, my hope is that you touch as many lives as possible about the how the Evangelical message is the ammunition that triggers so many gay suicides. I grew up in a pentecostal environment & even toured Oral Robert U as a possible college choice. Oral Roberts influenced my parents and I am sure they never knew about your Uncle Ronnie. Continue to share your story, it does get better.
When these Christian haters finally realize we are made as God wants us and stop their hating and judging this world will be a better place. I was a Born Again Christian who went to church and believed what some of these hatful preaches were preaching until I realized this isn't what I was taught about a loving God and came to the conclusion I had to get away from any of the organized religions as they want their flocks to follow their ways without question. God made and loves us all no matter.
You need to forgive your uncle. Those who survive the suicide of a loved one naturally harbor the feelings you have expressed. You or I will never understand how hopeless and defeated your uncle must have felt when he performed that permanent solution to a pain that could have been temporary. There is a great little pamphlet simply called "Surviving Suicide" that may help you bring your relationship with your uncle to a form of peace and resolution.
@MrTruthAddict : First of all I do not practise Xtianity...however, from all their threads (except maybe for a few jerks), Xtians do not judge nor condemn homosexuality. They just quote what GOD said, and if you have a problem with that, then deal with Him when you meet Him on Judgement Day.
If homosexuals are right, then they will be heaven bound....but only one thing comes to my mind, JESUS told the prostitute; GO AND SIN NO MORE. Now that's a thought provoking word, no?
@Hatorah Do you work on the Sabbath? Then you deserve to be stoned to death. Hey, it's in the bible! Anyone who adheres to the words of some desert imbeciles from 2000 years ago is a bigger moron than even they were back then. Back when they knew nothing of germ theory or that wiping your ass and touching your food could kill you. Anyone who thinks that book contains the words of some invisible man in the sky is a complete and utter fool.
@MrTruthAddict : Truth Addict, you're nothing shorter than an ignorant homosexual who is trying to weazle into GOD's Kingdom with all your dirt. Just get cleaned up and STOP trying to squeeze yourself in the HOUSE made by our Maker where no liars, no wizards and no adulterers, no fornicators and NO HOMOSEXUALS wn ill enter. GOD did not make man to push into another man's anus...you asshole. REPENT.
@Hallamfoebell : Ha. I'm a woman....so there. I pray you will repent. GOD sent His Son to help you get out of sin. THESE are strongholds of Satan. I feel very sorry for you guys. Really.
Assholes were made for crap to escape your body dear - which is supposed to be the Temple of the Holy Spirit.
It is not a natural function to have a big rod inserted into a canal...to become so stretched out that you have constant leakage in your boxers? Ha. A mother of 3 homos told me that. Eeeeeew!
@Hatorah Oh doesnt matter Sweetie! anyone can get it up the butt! HAHA you know you dont even realize how much pain your cuasing people! WEll what about dicks and varginas? piss comes out of them! PISS you like dirty pissy penis in your vagina? Of course! Well she had it wrong. you my friend are so wrapped in holy then thy crap its not even funny. God also says dont judge and your doing a ton of judging! so see you in HELL as you call it
@Hatorah honey do me a favor...step back for a moment and forget everything you know or think you know about God and Gays/Homosexuality, then pray to God for a greater understanding of His word and what exactly is His view on the issue and then go and read your Bible.
but you need to pray that prayer everytime. it helped me understand so much more about God and the Bible.
and it works for more subjects besides Homosexuality
@Hatorah LOL, does it make you feel better to pretend you are on this imaginary sky daddys team? How pathetic is your life that you have to cling to a fairy tale in order to feel significant? Take your book of fairy tales and crawl back into your world of fantasy. Harry Potter is more real than your phony god.
@Hallamfoebell Well. Xtianity is after all just a plagiarism of Judaism. How could they have not adopted the idiotic hatreds of the religions which came before it?
This guy cannot possibly be related in any way to Oral Roberts or his hideous family. Oral's genes are 100% hillbilly, redneck, ignorant, and sleazy. I'd say this guy is definitely adopted. Or maybe some pediatric nurse got the beds mixed up in the maternity ward.

Hopefully we as a people can just respect each other and find happiness in our lives.
sgtortiz641 2 months ago
@sgtortiz641
As an outsider to the things of God. You of course would believe its something your born with. I use to think that until I met God. Even after I met God I still believed it was something you were born with. I believed it for about a year. Until one day I was pondering about the subject and then God spoke to me and said he makes no mistake. That was the end of that.
lovethecaribbean1 2 months ago
@lovethecaribbean1 That doesn't prove that we aren't born this way. Did God proceed to tell you that gay people are mistakes? No? Then you came to the wrong conclusion, buddy. I mean, how can you possibly sit there and say with a straight face that Ellen Degeneres is a mistake? Or that these two wonderful people in the video are mistakes? You apparently believed long before that all LGBT people are mistakes. Which, of course, is a hateful, non-Christian viewpoint.

@TheStrong32 Sir, My question for you is sincere and asked with respect. Do you think that the churches are threatened by people who make being gay their primary identity? Maybe thats what scares them. I have a family member who is gay and would defend to the death. Again, My question is asked in the spirit of friendship. Happy new year to you.
sgtortiz641 2 months ago

Where is God in that?
kallistiX1 2 months ago 27
@kallistiX1 Don't give up on us just yet! The Community of Christ is a very loving, accepting worldwide church that I am very proud to be a part of. This church not only talks the talk, it also walks the walk. We practice what we preach, and we preach love, not hate. Do not paint an entire religion one color just because of a tiny blotch (Westboro Baptist Church).
Oh, and btdubs, I'm gay.
radicaldreamer927 1 month ago
@radicaldreamer927 I grew up in a Black Southern Baptist home in Ohio in the 80's. I asure you, my opinion about Christianity was formed LONG before I even knew the WBC even existed. Nor is it one tiny blotch: it is a great many stains. Your religion has done great things but to deny that there is a long tradition of persecution is just plain false. I left Christianity behind when I was 12 y/o and nothing I've heard or seen since has made me regret that decision.
kallistiX1 1 month ago
@kallistiX1 True, there have been some very shady, very deplorable parts of Christianity's past that should never have happened, such as the Crusades (our own bout of terrorism), and the Catholic church screwing with the Bible in a way that I simply cannot forgive. I can't make you convert back, but I will say that the Community of Christ is doing everything it can to fill the world with love and light. (continued)

Even in...
Kushan250 2 weeks ago
@Kushan250 ...such a state a Christian should only act out of love. There are alot of hypocritical christians out there. But the church is like a hospital, its for the sick people. You don't go to a hospital and expect to see healthy clean people, you expect to see sick people. Same thing with the church, it is filled with wretched sinners, like you and I. Hypocrites, murderers, homosexuals, liers, thiefs. But God came for the sick, not the righteous. You accuse all of christianity..
Kushan250 2 weeks ago
@Kushan250 for not loving, but thats a logical fallacy, your using a blanketing statement. Not all christians act like that, i assure you. It is an excuse to dismiss our teaching because it does not line up with your own, a usual tactic. If you read the Bible and knew its teaching, it would condemn homosexuality, but also preaches that we must approach it in love and carefulness. Our faith is centered around forgiveness and Christ's redemptive work, no hate should be thereYet in some
Kushan250 2 weeks ago
@Kushan250 places hate is present, that is because we are all sinners. We all need grace, we are no better than a homosexual or a murderer. I pray that God saves the unbelievers, just as He has saved me. That is in my prayers daily. Tell me, where is the hate in what true christianity is? To God be all the glory.
Kushan250 2 weeks ago
@Kushan250 I was raised in a christian houshold by religious grandparents in southwest Ohio. I understand the teaching of your religion perfectly: it used to be my own. Do not tell I do not know where christians come from, not only do I know I have been there, I grew up there. Are there good, loving christians? Undoubtedly. My mother and grandparents come to mind. Did it stop them from saying the worst things about gay people when their grandson/child was growing up? No, it did not.
kallistiX1 2 weeks ago
@kallistiX1 Christians may indeed be loving people but everday some of those same loving people get up and spout nothing but intolerance: it's God's way or hell. Your either one of the saved or your damned. How can there be anything else? You tell this to your children, unaware of who they are and they believe and they try to to change. They pray to not be this offensive thing in the eye of God and everyday they fail. How can repent something you didn't even choose to be?
kallistiX1 2 weeks ago
@kallistiX1 Ah, but their in lies the rub. Why would a loving God create a gay person on to tell them that they must be put death for being what they are? For christians the answer is simple: you're a sinner and you chose to be this way. For sex, for base pleasure, vanity, selfishness, lust. Forget the fact that as I child prayed that god would make me not like "those" people, I must have chose this because the word cannot be wrong therefore I must be mistaken about my entire life.
kallistiX1 2 weeks ago

It's a shame to live your life in this small amount of time given, constantly trying to follow a rule-book and judging others too.

hortulanus94 2 weeks ago

Christians often go about it wrong, but your real fight is against God.
johnaio 4 days ago
@johnaio I have no quarrel with your God. As far as I know, it hasn't done anything to me; for all I know it may not even exist. It is the behavior of real people that concerns me. How perfectly ludicrous to claim that you saved a child because you are religious, as if any normal person in that situation would not have done the same. It is when your 'religion' gives you people the means to persecute others and then to deny responsibility (because it's "God"will/word) that I take issue.
kallistiX1 4 days ago
@kallistiX1 You're right. It's ludicrous to claim that I saved a child because of religion. Only problem, you read that into it. You didn't even come close to understanding the point. I'll say it plainly. Christians have a responsiblity to bring attention to wrong, and to express Gods good plan for man, that's if we want to please God rather than man. Just because someone corrects according to God's word doesn't mean that's hatred. It serves as a warning of the inevitable dangers
johnaio 4 days ago
@johnaio I'm sorry but that is exactly what it means. This all comes down to the belief that you and your book are right and everyone else is wrong, so you're justified. The 'responsibility' of christians has been used as justification for all manner of bigotry and continues to be used as such today. There are groups of your kind trying to brainwash people into rejecting their sexuality, plotting to revoke civil rights and using LGBT people as a scapegoat for all the ills of America.
kallistiX1 4 days ago
@kallistiX1 I'm the author of the comment and I'm saying that isn't what it means. No where in my heart am I saying that. If we refuse to hear people and tell them what they are saying and insist after being corrected then there lies the problem of misinterpreting. God is the Creator of Earth and mankind. In the beginning was the Word; was here before us. If He created all then He owns all, He calls the shots. When we create a world, then we can call the shots.
johnaio 4 days ago
@kallistiX1 I by no means hate you, nor do I think that LGBT people are the cause of America's ills. It's much deeper than that and it doesn't start with LGBT.
johnaio 4 days ago
@johnaio Again, I have no quarrel with your god and you may in fact be a good person. But, that does not stop your religion from actively participating and perpetuating the hate that causes LGBT youth to be bullied to death. The site alone has literally thousands of videos demonstrating that fact. This is not an isolated incident but a systematic problem. You are absolutely right about this being about misinterpretation: if your god is love someone needs to let your leaders know that.
kallistiX1 4 days ago
@kallistiX1 Admittedly, I don't like the way the message is often presented without love. At the same time, I do realize that every message that doesn't agree with my position isn't synonomous with hate. I also acknowlege that there are good and bad in every arena of life. No group excluded. Often it's easier to judge others harshly and see there faults more than our own, even if we are guilty of the exact thing and sometimes worse.
johnaio 4 days ago
@kallistiX1 I recognize my flaws. Another flaw I and most have is, 'not recognizing all my flaws'. But because I know I'm far from perfect, I go to the one who is perfect (Jesus Christ). I sure hope if I'm straying from Gods word and it's going to be bad in the end that someone sincere would say so. If scripturally based, I'm all ears. Scriptuually, I'm suppose to love you, feed you if you're hungry, bless and pray for you. But it doesn't mean go against God. That's not real love.
johnaio 4 days ago
@kallistiX1 By the way, honestly, not that it matters cause it doesn't, but you seem like a pretty decent person to me.
johnaio 4 days ago
@johnaio I am not asking for perfection, I'm simply asking that people be allowed to be left alone. I asking that the systemic persecution of others stop. I'm asking that human being value humans more than a book. I'm asking that mothers and fathers see their children, not abominations. I'm asking that people take responsibility for a message that isn't love or even a kind warning. A message that says you chose to be a wicked thing, that you're unclean, that you should die for who love.
kallistiX1 3 days ago
@kallistiX1 I hear you. If God did not exist and create us I would be all for that. But if genuine christians chose to not speak out, they too would have to give an account for not warning in LOVE as commanded. It's hard telling people the truth. These days simply to disagree with anyone is deemed as hate. The book that is highly valued was/is inspired by the One who loved you and I so much that He died and rose again for us, so that we may have eternal life back here on earth.
johnaio 3 days ago
@kallistiX1 Of course most aren't going to acccept. Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No man comes to the Father but by me(Jesus) He also said narrow is the way that leads to eternal life and few there be that find it. Broad is the way to destruction and many there be that go in the way". It's not about any specific sin. It's about us being born with sin. All of us. Jesus said, "Except a man be born again, he can't even see the Kingdom of God. "
johnaio 3 days ago
@kallistiX1 I realize you're probably tired of hearing the same stuff over and over, but here's the guarantee: If with a sincere heart (must be sincerely wanting truth even if it goes against current beliefs), in your quiet time with no one around, ask God if he is real and if what I'm saying is real or not. Ask Him to began to reveal Himself to you so that you don't end up with eternal regrets. You won't be able to deny the things that begin to happen. Take good care of yourself.
johnaio 3 days ago

The fervor of relgious zeal does not absolve the actions nor will it.
kallistiX1 3 days ago
@kallistiX1 When I first commented to you regarding a child, you totally didn't get the analogy. T. Harv Eckerd said in his book, THE MILLIONIONAIRE MINDSET, "How you do anything is how you do everything" I have been finding that more and more true. The misinterpretation of that first analogy not seeing the point and accusing me of things that were so far off, is how you are doing with christianity. You interpret correction as "less than human" Also, staying in our sin is a choice.
johnaio 3 days ago
@kallistiX1 Christianty does not teach anyone is less than human. Again that is your interpretation. You take things to the extreme in your accusations when others don't agree with you. We all can change if we want with Gods help. Brainwashing is good if the brain is dirty and in need of cleansing. Scripture says, For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. Also, I can't force anything. Only pray and influence
johnaio 3 days ago
@kallistiX1 No one is talking about absolving bad actions because of religious zeal. You continously clump everyone together. If I kept saying, "You people" and clump all LGBT together, you would be offended. Most every group, organization has faced persecution. You're not alone. In fact, many persecute christians even today. If you understood the things of God instead of rejecting, you would know that what the Bible says is literally unfolding today.
johnaio 3 days ago
@kallistiX1 I could point out examples of what LGBT people have done and accuse all of the same. Now that wouldn't be fair. Either way, you don't know what your future holds in terms of coming to conclusions. Life can sometimes really shake us into reality. Anyway, youtube serves no justice in trying to be clearly understood, so you won't hear from me again in case you think it's harrassment. So I'm note tempted to reply, I blocked this. No offence. U will recall this conversation. Promise.
johnaio 3 days ago
@johnaio I should very much like to see you or anyone for that matter try to prove the christians have been as victimized by LGBT people as LGBT people have been by christians. The very notion is outrageous. Just like the notion that brainwashing is fine if it is necessary. And who decides that, pray tell? If you think I take thing to extreme just visit any single video about LGBT people or issues on this site. If you find ONE without vile comments by christian I'll delete this account.
kallistiX1 3 days ago
@johnaio You say I go too far with people who disagree with me, as if this is just a matter of opinion, but I defy you to point to one thing I have said that is not literally the truth: are christian groups and poltitician not trying to deny LGBT people their rights? Are people choosing their belief of their humanity? Have people put their children out on the streets for the sin of being who and what they are? Have I lied and said things that have not and continue to happen?

@johnaio You are correct. It starts with the New World Order/One World Government police state comming to a community near you. I can assure you gays have nothing to do with the TRUE evil in this world.

TheNolo73 3 months ago
@TheNolo73 Every Christian should be like Jesus the way Jesus tells you exactly in your Bible. There is no mystery in what Jesus' writings describe how you should be, not like the ambiguity in other writings in the Bible. Throughout your history, your changes all came with violence and hatred, it's amazing! It keeps repeating to this day. A Christian, when faced with changes in society, reacts and uses the Bible for rejection of the change and violence in some form or another.Just keep praying.
TheNolo73 3 months ago
@TheNolo73 If your a "Peaceful Christian", and are about to write " well not all of us are this way", please read this and don't bother!
TheNolo73 3 months ago
@TheNolo73 I'm not a Christian, but I must point out, it just doesn't really work that way... Why do you think all the monarchies, dictatorships worked out, even when the crowd was disappointed? If a Christian disapproves of Papal authority (let's say), they may choose to become followers of a tradition that denies the sanctity of the Pope, but in all honesty, they can't really put down the Pope.
kalacs32 3 months ago
@kalacs32 You don't have to put down the Pope, lead by example and the Pope will either change or be useless. You don't have to have the Pope to be a Christian, Jesus never said you were to be granted a religion. If your religion doesn't follow Jesus, then move on. You don't have to call yourself one. There are many other Christians that don't follow the Pope either and who don't follow Christ so that's not an excuse. What you just commented is about the same as well not all of us are that way.
TheNolo73 3 months ago
@TheNolo73 Well, my point really was with the Pope that he possibly could be one Christian leader who you may regard as evil, but still you can't put down, even if you disagree and deny his power. Christ, and whether you at the same time follow him, is trivia regarding the argument. "they may choose to become followers of a tradition" by that part I actually meant even Protestantism, for example, my point wasn't whether they can be Christiand still. They can of course. Sorry,if that was unclear.
kalacs32 3 months ago
@TheNolo73 My real point is, I do though believe it's a little naive to think the Pope (or any (religious/Christian) leader in power that has a little sense) can simply be put down/rendered useless/altered by leading by example.
kalacs32 3 months ago
@kalacs32 Naive? How so? Just by doing instead of praying? I think you reasoning is naive sir. I said now three times that you don't need to put any leader down, how did they get to be a leader in the first place? By having followers. Just don't follow. You act as if there's nothing a person to do which is the problem of religions, they give you a reason to do nothing by training you to sit and pray and give all responsibility and praise to God and that transfers to people who rep him.
TheNolo73 3 months ago
@TheNolo73 I'm not the "sit on your ass and pray" kind of person.Plus I've realized you use Christianity and religion interchangably. Not all religions follow Christian-like dogmas. My only point is "Just don't follow " isn't necessarily gonna work.Just look at any dictatorship, as I've mentioned. Did people really like some of these so much? Were they supported the hell out of? No, and they still existed for durations at times. Some reign/power systems simply work more complex than you seem to t
kalacs32 3 months ago
@kalacs32 I like that you mentioned dictatorships. Arab Spring? Libya, Nazis, etc. They all were overthrown weren't they? People did something about it. It's been over 2000 years for Catholicism and Christianity. I don't know how long for others but long enough. I interchange because this video is about Christianity. Seeing as how you've included yourself in a religion, what are you actually doing about it? Why aren't you giving your expertise instead of giving excuses for people?

Christianity is not an evil virus. Its more of the people who call themselves "christian", yet do not act in the way according how Jesus acted toward others. We are on this earth to love one another as neighbors and brotheres and sisters of Christ (whether you believe or not). I am a Bisexual Christian and I try to follow these 6 words: Love the Sinner, Hate the Sin.

I was a Born Again Christian who went to church and believed what some of these hatful preaches were preaching until I realized this isn't what I was taught about a loving God and came to the conclusion I had to get away from any of the organized religions as they want their flocks to follow their ways without question.
