is this game 16 bit? That's impressive looking for a downloadable DSi game. Very nice graphics. The original Gameboy Color game is so rare and hard to find.

@TargetRender Some of the graphical effects are too good for 16-bit, it's just that my rip of this video is a bit grainy since I wanted it up as quickly as possible.

@demonskunkstudios Or you could buy a DSi XL lol. Actually the 3DS might also DSi Ware, and not to mention the Gameboy Virtual Console. Perhaps the original might show up for download?

@AlucardsQuest Guh. the XL shouldn't even exist in my opinion D: it's just a a way for them to wring more money out of DSi owners (even though I acknowledge that it's better for older people)

but the DSi in general offends me by existing D:

it'd be like if the original PS3 wasn't compatible with the PSN store and required you to buy an entirely separate console to play games on it.. y'know?

and I'm not looking forward to the 3DS if it's predicted price is what we'll be paying :x

I'm currently playing the GBC-version and it's awesome! This one will probably not be a technical masterpiece on the DSi like the original game was on the GBC, but I'm sure it will be awesome nevertheless. Too bad the original game never got released outside of America. :(

@Arukado93 The original Shantae on Gameboy Color is one of those underrated gems. It was made specifically to incorporate the best of what 2D action adventure games have to offer. The team making the game says they were highly influenced by Castlevania and Zelda.
