@paniq303 Umm.. are you a troll that actually knows that it's not a rip off or do I have to explain it to you. Well, Mr. Unedumecated, Infiniminer did come before Minecraft but it was very basic and the object of the game was extremely different. You had to extract precious ores before the other team but everybody decided that it was more fun to build. But within a month Infiniminer was discontinued and Notch didn't want to see an idea like this end. So he made it much better than Infiniminer.

@paniq303 Minecraft's art style is. Notch has mentioned that many times. But the gameplay is more like Dwarf Fortress (which, again he acknowledges) or Wurm Online (a game Notch worked on before Minecraft).

This game looks fun even though it isn't as widely popular as other titles. That's what I like about it; simple, fun, great graphics for this kind of game. I wonder if the guy who made this game is looking to makea career as a professional video game designer. He would sure as hell get my support.

Why this game is the best.... Finally, a down-to-earth indie game designer makes a game based on fun and gameplay rather then graphics and a quick buck. Not only is the "living watercolor" effect astounding, but the gameplay is fully customizable. You may join the same server a day later and it could be a completely different world.

Love the graphics, tho low poly it looks quite good. And the gameplay seems to make up tons of fun. You would have to play this game for ages before it gets repetitive it seems. Great job Eskil!

The video doesn't fully explain everything going on, and in fact most people don't know how this game will exactly work.

What is great about it isn't anything specific, it's the game as a whole as art, game, and technological achievement. Yeah, it could all add up to equal zero, but as an avid gamer that enjoys creation and graphics, a game based upon creation and co-op efforts is more than a little interesting to me.

Might just be me, but I doubt it.

Well, there are people who enjoy playing games, not watching scripted scenes.

Games do not exclusively mean "fun". They also mean attention shift and learning. While having fun.

Although, games with steep learning curves do tend to detract people. Just look at "Dwarf Fortress." They have a Wiki that you MUST use if you don't know about ASCII's style, and it's one detailed game. Love (nor any game) is that complex, save for maybe a few.

The only complication lies in all of the tools. Other than that, it's a pretty nice-looking FPS.

How it works is that there are four "tribes" of 50, and they can be against each other or communicate with each other to work together.
