@curea229 Accurate comment. To clarify, Zac did this for the record. Robin, initially did this for the adventure. He wanted to see the world rather than read about it.

After he arrived in South Africa, Robin didn't want to continue the voyage, but was compelled by his father to complete "what he started." He continued on though by this time he hated it. The solitude was a killer.

Robin did this without GPS, EPIRB, Sat Phone, etc.

Zac accomplishment is impressive. IMO, Robin was the man.

It's nice that this boy set out to try to beat out past records, but really you can't compare Apples and oranges. For instance, Robin Lee Graham did it in quite a smaller boat, and all he had for navigation was a sextant , Gibson girl radio and a lead line for shallow depths. He didn't have GPS, Sat. phone Sat weather station , a computer and a single side band to communicate with whoever he wanted - when ever. or radar ect Not to take anything away from this guy, He shouldn't compare himself.

Why even describe the journey as a record when the route wasnt even confirmed by the WWSRC who vet these 'records' and then decide on whether the journey is record breaking. I find this lack of planning on the route taken to acvhieve the world record a blatent reason why this was a publicity stunt and a merchanising oppurtunity shame on you.
