Beth, was the ballad for KISS, Peter's voice made this the best rock ballad ever. NO ONE CAN sing like Peter & Ace was the bomb with the guitars. True, they both have had their demons..so has Gene & Paul. Guys you ruined the band, should have helped out your friends of more than 40 years get some rehab care and make the group be more legendary, instead you have two nobodies as the replacements. I love glee, and am surprised by a bunch of these comments that I see on the videos for the original songs. The originals are really good songs, and that is why the show has decided to use them. It is simply a different style of music, and sometimes they do it better on glee. I saw the video of the kiss symphony of this song, and thought I would hate the kiss version, but this one proved it was just on off sounding version.

You see the humbleness in Peter at about the half way mark (1:48) when he looks at Gene and thanks him. Peter had his troubles but even with those he was very much a big part of what KISS was and who they became as far as a music group. Ask a true fan who are the members of KISS and the original members will always be mentioned, not that the others are not great but KISS is always going to be the original members. Thank you KISS for many great memories of our youthful years.
i gotta say...Kiss will be Kiss, as long as their is Gene and Paul...They are the heart and soul of the band, and I think that no matter who is on lead guitar and drums, they have to bring something to the band and that's what Tommy and Eric do.

O M G !!!!! Love KISS <3 and love this song.....Peter Kriss wrote it about Gene Simmons girlfriend at the time who was not named Beth. It was on side b on the destroyer album n was releasd in 1976 but it was such a huge hit with fans that they re-released it on side a in 1978!!!
Also again I hate the Rock n Roll hall of fame, but all the truly great musically gifted bands have made it in on the first ballot. Kiss finally got on the ballot after 15 years of eligibility and didn't even come close to the percentage of votes needed to get in. Don't get me wrong I like a lot of Kiss songs. But a musically great band they weren't. They're just a fun band with some great party tunes that found a niche and made a shit load of money. I'm not putting them down at all.
Yes, I do agree that the bands you listed have more "talent" than KISS does, but some of your facts are incorrect. KISS has many top 20 studio albums, yes bands like Zeppelin have more, but so what they aren't competing against Zeppelin they're competiting against Madonna and Run DMC if you recall right. Zeppelin was inducted before KISS was even eligible

Alright friend you obviously didn't read my post. Kiss album sales are not close to the overall album sales of the Who, Led Zepplin, Queen which many consider their contemporaries. However Kiss was a product, and a damn good one. The whole purpose of Kiss was to sell themselves. It was genious! However talent wise they aren't in the same class as the fore mentioned bands. Seeing how Kiss has had only one top 20 hit (Beth), and no top 20 studio albums. However they put on one of the best concerts

What did you expect? Kiss was never known for their music, they were known for their shows and costumes. Granted they have some good tunes, but they were a product first and a band second. Musically they aren't in a class with Zepplin, The Who, Queen etc. But they have made more money then those bands because they know what they are and they don't pretend to be anything else. Well save for that time in the 80's they removed the make-up and their sales went in the tank.

@popovz I hate to tell you man but Kiss is Kiss no matter who's in it. The best Kiss ever was with no doubt in the 70's before peter and ace lost it. You have to be blind and deaf to think kiss would be better off musically with ace and peter back in it at this point in time.

@popovz I Like What Your Saying but don't you think Eric Singer deserves to be In KISS! He is the Longest Tenured Kiss Drummer and The Best Skill Drummer behind The Late, Great Eric Carr! I Love Peter and Ace but Eric Deserves to be in Kiss. Should He wear the Cat makeup. Yeah and At least he wears the Dynasty Green instead of Peter's Classic Black and Red. Should Tommy Be wearing The Spaceman and Playing Shock Me, I say No. (At least it keeps the Ace Makeup in stores!)

@popovz saw KISS Sat night in Dallas, true i like the originals better. Eric was a great talent on the skins, RIP, still like Peter better. Tommy does a great job, still like Ace better. Either way, they still put on a kick ass show.

O M G !!!!! Love KISS <3 and love this song.....Peter Kriss wrote it about Gene Simmons girlfriend at the time who was not named Beth. It was on side b on the destroyer album n was releasd in 1976 but it was such a huge hit with fans that they re-released it on side a in 1978!!!

Also again I hate the Rock n Roll hall of fame, but all the truly great musically gifted bands have made it in on the first ballot. Kiss finally got on the ballot after 15 years of eligibility and didn't even come close to the percentage of votes needed to get in. Don't get me wrong I like a lot of Kiss songs. But a musically great band they weren't. They're just a fun band with some great party tunes that found a niche and made a shit load of money. I'm not putting them down at all.

Yes, I do agree that the bands you listed have more "talent" than KISS does, but some of your facts are incorrect. KISS has many top 20 studio albums, yes bands like Zeppelin have more, but so what they aren't competing against Zeppelin they're competiting against Madonna and Run DMC if you recall right. Zeppelin was inducted before KISS was even eligible

tendollarticket you OBVIOUSLY know nothing about music if you think the who and all them are better than kiss musicaly. and doesnt making a huge profit meen that people liked their music. and PLEASE correct me if im wrong but kiss made more money than any of the bands you listed which meens more people listen to their music. which also meens they wer more popular. which in theory kiss is better ; )

Alright friend you obviously didn't read my post. Kiss album sales are not close to the overall album sales of the Who, Led Zepplin, Queen which many consider their contemporaries. However Kiss was a product, and a damn good one. The whole purpose of Kiss was to sell themselves. It was genious! However talent wise they aren't in the same class as the fore mentioned bands. Seeing how Kiss has had only one top 20 hit (Beth), and no top 20 studio albums. However they put on one of the best concerts

And there's nothing wrong with that. This band never hid what they were, and weren't ashamed of it. Like Gene says of his house, "this is the house that bad reviews built." But they were very very very savy, and made a ton of money selling their product.

Im sorry but i have to be honest about this. What was the most heaviest rock and roll group became corporate rock. Over time that's what gene and paul made KISS become. It will still forever be the greatest band in the world but still...........

What did you expect? Kiss was never known for their music, they were known for their shows and costumes. Granted they have some good tunes, but they were a product first and a band second. Musically they aren't in a class with Zepplin, The Who, Queen etc. But they have made more money then those bands because they know what they are and they don't pretend to be anything else. Well save for that time in the 80's they removed the make-up and their sales went in the tank.
