  • Sharpening РК on a forward surface was conducted by hand, i.e. manually, with the constant small area or dot contact of a processed surface to an abrasive surface оселка or a stone. Because of it, cutting edge can be squeezed out slightly on a support surface. Therefore, the colleague constantly ground in them lengthways РК, in two contacts on a back surface to remove from it traces завальцовки.

  • I'm not familiar with how you are doing the ride line. I'm trying to do the whole ride line hoping to keep it totally flat, thou using a glass flateened stone.

Razzor sharpeners flatten by putting a pencil grid and then flattening on glass

  • I'm wondering if you really need to flaten the stones with the excelent Sharpenton flatening device as excelent as it may be. Most shear sharpeners get it fairly flat on a glass. Is that thing really so good and dose it really help you in sharpening convexed shears on the convexed side? I have also made a vidio(sharpening on the Norton 4000/8000) and another one but also have the Sharpton stones which I have experimented with but not bought the flatener.

  • start at 500g right? not 1000g.

  • Start at 1000g for normal sharpening. The 500 is to remove a heavy chip.

  • the video states 1000g while he is in fact removing deep chips.

  • He mentions 500 grit at 2:18. You can begin at 1000. If it works, good. If not, you need to go to a lower grit. This is covered in the extended DVD. You try to avoid the 500 unless you really need to remove a lot of metal. You want to avoid altering the curvature of the blade.

  • I could really do with one of them
