The reason why they put the D on the West End line was because it's a heavier route than the B. If they put the B back here, then the B would HAVE to run on the weekend. So they figured if they put the B on the Brighton Line, they can just eliminate the B on the weekend all together. The W ran over here from 2001 - 2004. Then the D took over. RIP BROWN M :-(
@liveshowgrlz Yeah, you're probably right. The same thing would happen to that boy in "Sleepless in Seattle" who forgot his rucksack on the top of the Empire State building .. ;)
@SaschaSass Anyway nice and interesting video. I stumbled upon a website today that sells hidden webcams that you can clip on to your clothing, one that's also an mp3 player with a hidden cam and even a hidden cam on sunglasses that I'm interested in buying to tape the general public or something like you did in this video. You're still in New York/
Good to see Broadway-Lafayette Street from 1990. The one thing I noticed that the staircases that led to the abandoned east mezzanine wasn't covered. Come next year, that mezzanine will no longer be abandoned.
Hes on the D train folks! from the best I can make of it! because the D train goes over the bridge and goes straight to pacific/atlantic ave, and the B/Q go to Dekalb first, so this is the D becuase they skipped dekalb
this video brings back many memories, i couldve easily bn on this train with u lolz... i was 6 yrs old and used to ride back to my house in bk from manhattan every weekend... great video
same here buddy; I used to be 7 years old , good old days, used to take B or D from Dekalb (which was apparently one of the scariest back then lol) to 20th and Bay park way, good old days man, seriously miss those days, lots of memories
At the time this video was filmed, (which was in 1990) the N line was local on the 4th Avenue Line in Brooklyn, and the M was express. In June of 1994 the N line became express and the M line became local.
That train you see at the 36th St/4th Ave station from 6:49 to 7:14 is an R32 N train.
Just like I said in my other post, the R32's on the R was rare at the time (in 1990, when this vid was filmed) because it also had R46's just like it does now.
B always ran on the 6th aveune line. Before the B was BB in the oldest days until 1967 BB was renamed to Bthat means B had doblue letters before until 1967.
This video is a history video flimed in 1990. I saw the RFW R40 running on the B line between West4 street and Fort Hamilton Parkway. I remember that the B ran on the 4 aveune line and West end line in brooklyn until 2001 when W train replaced B and B cut back to 34th street and W ran on the 4 aveune line and west end line until 2004 when D replaced W and also B was running on the brigton line in 2004 and D ran 4 aveune line and west end line.B is now a weekday service.
Nice work! Its good to see the B train running on the its former line down on West End. But now it runs on the Brighton line to Brighton Beach. The Q and B run the Brighton line and the D train runs on West End. Once again great job on the video.
Brings memories of the R40's when running on the B to which should of been on today to the West End. Stations though should of never been touched. Wow what memories.
I saw a building that is a block away from my home!

An R32 on the R was rare back in the early 90's.

it actually still is today theres only 1 R32 that runs for the R

Um, there is no more R32s on the R line! Haven't you heard it all over SubChat?
