  • I saw a building that is a block away from my home!

  • @InkaSlowik Were you already living there in 1990?

  • Check out that huge satellite dish a 8:47.

  • I have got up to all sorts of mischief on that bridge in gta 4 incase anyone was wondering

  • this is the old B train at first I thought it was the orange Q but the q didn't use the 40s yet in those days........interesting video.

  • Where you near the front of the train?

  • @mythbuster43 - More to the front would've been impossible. The conductor's cabin was right beside me.

  • @mythbuster43

    what do you think??

  • The reason why they put the D on the West End line was because it's a heavier route than the B. If they put the B back here, then the B would HAVE to run on the weekend. So they figured if they put the B on the Brighton Line, they can just eliminate the B on the weekend all together. The W ran over here from 2001 - 2004. Then the D took over. RIP BROWN M :-(

  • @bflatism that made no sense

  • @Dgugil19 I was talking about why the D train is on the West End line instead of the B

  • @bflatism no i agree with u i ment it made no sense for them to switch

  • @Dgugil19 Yea? Taking out the brown M made no sense. Now I got to take 2 trains everyday to get to chambers

  • Nice video and great quality, you wouldn't have told the video was from 1990 for a second!

  • @Localonthe8sHD Thanks, I used the Ricoh camcorder of my host family back then .. :)

  • is this "N" train

  • ahh the good old days! this was back when subways were NORMAL. not the shitty new cars we have in the system now.

  • wow what line the (QB)?

  • greatest job in the world it's like riding a rollercoaster all day

  • this is da D TRAIN im lovin it omg all da stations n everythin looks exactly the same i use it everyday

  • i wasnt even born yet when u recorded this video

  • you film anything today they'll think your a terrorist.

  • @liveshowgrlz Yeah, you're probably right. The same thing would happen to that boy in "Sleepless in Seattle" who forgot his rucksack on the top of the Empire State building .. ;)

  • @SaschaSass Anyway nice and interesting video. I stumbled upon a website today that sells hidden webcams that you can clip on to your clothing, one that's also an mp3 player with a hidden cam and even a hidden cam on sunglasses that I'm interested in buying to tape the general public or something like you did in this video. You're still in New York/

  • @liveshowgrlz No, I live in Cologne, Germany.

  • @SaschaSass Cool video, be glad you got to see New York back then!

  • @liveshowgrlz

No they'll think you're a tourist, which you probably are! lol

  • wow long time since i been going that way seemed like just yesturday

  • wow you caught 3353!

  • Good to see Broadway-Lafayette Street from 1990. The one thing I noticed that the staircases that led to the abandoned east mezzanine wasn't covered. Come next year, that mezzanine will no longer be abandoned.

  • seems like back in the days there were no lights in the tunnels not like today

  • thats a r40 slant

  • Hes on the D train folks! from the best I can make of it! because the D train goes over the bridge and goes straight to pacific/atlantic ave, and the B/Q go to Dekalb first, so this is the D becuase they skipped dekalb

  • In 1990 the B was running over West End and the D stopped at Dekalb.

  • @jmhs866 no at that time before the changes D train would stop at dekalb B trains would skip it

  • this video brings back many memories, i couldve easily bn on this train with u lolz... i was 6 yrs old and used to ride back to my house in bk from manhattan every weekend... great video

  • same here buddy; I used to be 7 years old , good old days, used to take B or D from Dekalb (which was apparently one of the scariest back then lol) to 20th and Bay park way, good old days man, seriously miss those days, lots of memories

  • mad dark

  • I didn't even remember the direction we went .. ;)

Maybe one of the experts here knows what train that was.

  • Was that a R32 N or R train across the platform of pacific street station?

  • R32 N.

  • how do you know ?? what if it was an R????

  • An R32 on the R was rare back in the early 90's.

  • it actually still is today theres only 1 R32 that runs for the R

  • Um, there is no more R32s on the R line! Haven't you heard it all over SubChat?

  • im talking about back then and there are still R32s on the R i just saw one on Friday all the roll signs on that train "R"

  • There's no more R32's on the R.

  • At the time this video was filmed, (which was in 1990) the N line was local on the 4th Avenue Line in Brooklyn, and the M was express. In June of 1994 the N line became express and the M line became local.

That train you see at the 36th St/4th Ave station from 6:49 to 7:14 is an R32 N train.

Just like I said in my other post, the R32's on the R was rare at the time (in 1990, when this vid was filmed) because it also had R46's just like it does now.

  • That train at the Pacific Street station from 5:45 to 6:04 is also an R32 N.

  • I love seeing stuff like this on youtube and wish I could find more. It's the ultimate time capsule.

  • B always ran on the 6th aveune line. Before the B was BB in the oldest days until 1967 BB was renamed to Bthat means B had doblue letters before until 1967.

  • This video is a history video flimed in 1990. I saw the RFW R40 running on the B line between West4 street and Fort Hamilton Parkway. I remember that the B ran on the 4 aveune line and West end line in brooklyn until 2001 when W train replaced B and B cut back to 34th street and W ran on the 4 aveune line and west end line until 2004 when D replaced W and also B was running on the brigton line in 2004 and D ran 4 aveune line and west end line.B is now a weekday service.

  • wut do u mean by west end line ?

  • The name of the line that this train runs on (or once did)

  • this is great! Subway history!

  • Nice work! Its good to see the B train running on the its former line down on West End. But now it runs on the Brighton line to Brighton Beach. The Q and B run the Brighton line and the D train runs on West End. Once again great job on the video.

  • Brings memories of the R40's when running on the B to which should of been on today to the West End. Stations though should of never been touched. Wow what memories.

  • Oh, thanks for the information ...it's 17 years ago. ;) I will change the text.
