  • Did you visualize it? Of course, you did so doesn't that mean its true? xD

  • guys. this is how it is. the 1st verse is the emit guy and his point of view whats happening * in his insane stage *. verse 2 is actually what happens

  • @nubaddict Not Necessarily true.

Either verse can be the "correct" story. In the first verse, the patient could be telling the true version of the story, there is no clear indication that this man is even insane. The second verse is from the perspective of Dr. Emit. His story can be interpreted very easily as a true story, but it is hard to know for a FACT that it is true. This is why I love this song, it can be interpreted in so many different ways.

  • @TheMetal4me This is true.

    Rhyme Asylum are lyrical geniuses.

  • @Drovedestroyer top notch wordplay

  • This is pure genius..

  • This song is absolute genius and I would happily fight those 3 dickheads who disliked this!

  • @supah4xor it was probably possessed skirmish and psi klone takin the piss :)

  • might have to book these guy for my 2 year old sisters b.day party

  • @wunpunch hahaha, i can just imagine that, bunch of little kids surrounded hearing these guys rap horror type movie songs

  • dam so it gives u the thoughts of a patient who though in his min that he was innocent nd it turned out he commited the crime nd commited suicide... Then after the suicide his mind depicted what he had wanted.. To escape nd be free.. But in reality he was dead! Fuckin Ill rhymes and so poetic it's deeper than the deepest trench in the ocean!!

  • @esco619760 That's RA for ya... When they get down, they REALLY get down... Nobody spits like they do.

  • dance with the devil

  • I haven't heard a track that gave me chills like this one since Dance with the Devil!

    RA!

  • like jesus to a child

  • amazin lycrics.al lthe best.peace and strength

  • these guys are on a different level

  • 2 people have broken windows

  • just makes me sick knowing that these guys are still struggling, working full time jobs and still standing on the the street corners tryin to sell their shit when they make genius tracks like this and, in my opinion, 2 of the best hip hop albums to come out of the UK... or even US. Should be f**kin millionairs

  • @benjrx8 Its bad ennit, thats the state of the music industry nowadays though, 10 years ago they wouldnt of struggled

  • @benjrx8 i don't agree.. this live is not about becoming a millionaire it's about the legacy you leave behind. these guys are real artists because they make music out of love for it not to make money off of it.. believe me the legacy they leave behind will be like the da vinci of hiphop and will be respected & looked up too much more then any billionaireartificialist. these guys are an example for humanity. this is just my oppinion fcourse ^^

  • @benjrx8 thing is, some people dont want to make millions off their music out of modesty or become puppets to major record labels. Copywrite has gotten offers from big labels and declined em for the mere fact that he wanted to stay true to the art of hip-hop, not lose his respect from his true fans for spittin bullshit cause some bills were flashed in his face. but what do i know?

  • @benjrx8 i think you got them wrong: )

    i think they don't want fame: )

  • @benjrx8 just started to listing to RA r they still on the streets?!?!

  • Everytime they drop shit it's on point. RA.

  • fuck takein the cake R.A owns the whole bakery

  • muito loko som desses caras

  • One person was being thrown through a broken window and missed the like button

  • uk hiphop dont get it twisted . track wreckers

  • do you think at about 0:20 that strange sound is like glass being rapidly put back together like in a rewind? That basically symbolize them telling the story before the window broke. These guys have so many elements of traditional poetry in their style!

  • @Phlapham112 Yeah man thats a valid point i think you could be right !!.

  • just found your music today, & excuse my language but OMG its an orgasm to my ears!!!! Officially an OBSESSED fan here! - Dora, 15 year old Femcee :)

  • I have been suffering for inspiration! You guys have re-ignited my love for quality Hip Hop. Please keep it up and keep it real. See you at your next show.

  • Rhyme Asylum is insanely good. They can inspire emotions in you... Some songs make you want to cringe, some make you want to look over your shoulder while walking through the dark, and tell incredible stories.

  • why is every one bummin over eminem an shit like that? peeople need to look deeper for hip hop. rhyme asylum are the best aroung truee songs!!

  • I saw rhyme asylum live on weds in brixton, so fuckin worth it! The atmosphere was sick! We couldnt get in and he was like yeah there performing, Much Respect!

  • Aren't these guys british?? Ha. Universal hip hop is awesome as long as it is underground and if it isn't that mainstream bullshit.

  • should be the soundtrack to shutter island?????????

  • @HouseMusicIE Yes that would be sick. Someone should make a Shutter Island video for this!!

    Rhyme ASylum so fuckin dope!

  • @HouseMusicIE YESSSS!!!

  • MUSIC LIKE THIS GIVES YA GOOSEBUMBS ITS THAT GOOD MAN FUCK I THINK IM IN LOVE WITH RYME ASYLUM

  • flows quality with the beat

  • Rhyme Asylum the dopest rap group in the UK !! Check out my channel i made two videos for two of your tracks i think your like them.

  • Cant believe i never heard these guys before, great song 10/10

  • Everyone's asking what the song's about lol...The first verse is the deranged Dr. Emit's perspective of the series of events leading up to his suicide, the second verse is what actually happened...

  • ok soo the dude is a killer, and at the end he kills himself. thats how he excapes from his mental prison

  • Anyone else feels like the second verse is actually the chronological follow up of the first ?

One could say the character turned into a psycho and was incarcerated a second time for doing to others what others did to himself.

At first I felt like both verses were the same story from a different POV, but the ending is just too different in both.

Maybe I'm dumb and missing the main point of this song's "twist", tho.

  • @vinztube i think it is a the same story from different POV,

v1 - My name is Dean Emit, victim of a serious mistake

    Diagnosed as clinically insane'

v2 - Dementia in control of all knowledge of self

Day to day he’d yell about the crimes

Like he didn’t do them and they’re still taking place

v1 - Shook loose the undetected shard of glass from behind my vest'

    v2- Examining the evil deed

There it was on the floor the jagged killer that didn’t flee the scene'

& He escapes at the end of both verses

  • @Mullets923

Pretty sure the second verse implies that the character die.

"Shard to the wrist, FATAL ATTRACTION

    Examining the evil deed[suicide]

There it was on the floor the JAGGED KILLER[glass] that didn’t flee the scene"

  • @vinztube that's what i'm saying.

v1 - He uses the glass to free himself "Felt the cold wind on my face, blinded by the moonlight, My mental prison escape"

In his mind, he feels that he had escaped.

v2 - "shard to the wrist Fatal Attraction...Jagged killer that didn't flee the scene."

He escapes his 'mental prison' by killing himself -with the glass-. If you're dead, you are no longer a prisoner.

also, death is often depicted as becoming cold, then complete white the moment you pass.

  • incredible.........

  • write someone help me hear , I love this tune and take it for what I hear, whats dis talk of twists and hidden meanings people speak of but never reveal. What I make of this tune is, the 1st verse is about a mental pacient who escapes, but it could also be escape froam a mental prison, the second verse explains who was responcble for the misstreatment of the first patient, broken glass seems to be apparent in both verses, could that be a metaphor for disstorted reality ect, anyone ?

  • Can definately tell this has Engineers signature on it.

  • DOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • "trapped in my cell, awaitin experiments" - Chester P

  • The Imagery in this is comparable to the work of the greatest poets. Genius.

  • Engineer has to be one of the best producers I've ever heard, the stuff he did for bolic was insane as well, combined with rhyme asylum this is the shit.

  • dope and real hip hop like this makes me glad im a fuckin pyscho crazy xavier renegade angel motha fucka! wORD RA@@

  • This is a very good song, rhyme asylum paints a very vivid mental picture with they're diction, and skirmish's vocal at the end only make the song even doper. very good song. peace to the Rhyme Asylum.

  • Such a sick song, took me a while to understand the whole thing, still a bit confused about the chair through the window thing, or is it just because he's crazy hahaha

  • Broken Window> Dance with the devil

  • this is my new fav track after stark raving genuis

  • sounding dope!

  • this gives me mad chills down the spine

  • this is so good, fuck man

  • Engineer does sum sick beats on this album, best song.

  • Love the twist twist with the second verse. R.A are the most talented Hip Hop act I've heard for quite some time.

  • shit this gave me goosebumps

  • this song is beautiful. pure genius i can picture it in my mind like a film. they make u feel like ur the character and ur watching urself

  • @ivanjoga you literally summed up what i was thinking. fucking vivid.

  • Dope story.

  • reminds me of shutter island when hes talking about them doing experiments on patients in a room and not trusting the nurse's. big song

  • @grantos24oxy so true dude..this should be the theme so shutter island

  • Really dope song, didn't fully get it on the first listen. Have to disagree with who said it was better than Stark Raving Genius though... I think the beat on Broken Window is way better than the beat on Stark Raving Genius, but i don't think i've ever heard anything that could compare to Possessed's verse on Stark Raving Genius, as good as this is. The stark raving genius lyrics on this beat would be fucking killer haha

  • @HipHopAus "fully get it" what am i missing??

  • @HipHopAus Dude that would be amazing! The beats on this album blow the ones on State Of Lunacy out the water. Imagine Poison Penmanship on The 'N' Word instrumental!

  • sick

  • Man its stark ravin genius pt 2, this ones better.. took me a couple listens before actually clocked the 2nd verse properly though, clever song

  • Deep song. Love it. Respect to RA.

  • Have any of the members of Rhyme Asylum been institutionalized?

  • This. Is. Class!

  • definatley guna buy this album when i can fucking afford it

  • this is absolutely fucking fantastic
