  • Your an idiot! You have the time to make a video but not tape the gift receipts to the box. I mean how hard is that? When you get married please don't have children. we have enough idiots in the world. Look at the back of target receipts and see what it says about our return policy. Go to target and see what says it behind returns. Go on move your body and go look. You make our jobs harder because of your arrogance. thank you very much

  • if you dont have a reciept you are allowed up to 70 dollars worth of returns on your id for store credit. the team member lied to you. and you can also retun on you gift purchase log with out it going against your 70 dolloars worth of returns

  • ARGH! SCARY! I have a wedding in a month and I'm registered there! :(

  • oh my God that is not fun at all for you hope that you found a solution to that. i mean hope that that stupid store found a solution for your situation.

that s why people should give money insted of stuf beacause of those stupid policies.very frustration for the bride.

i am getting married in 2 months and half and hope that would not happen to me.:( take care and good luck!!!

  • I also work there and the policy has changed, but what you have to remember is this is the huge corporation that is Target that makes these policies not the managers or employees. You can talk till your blue in the face, thats just the way it is. I to am fed up with the bad customer service of today's world but the way to resolve it is to not shop at big box stores and support local shops. when you go to target or walmart you are dealing with the billionaire execs not the people who work there.

  • As a guest service team member, I really don't like the guest who take it out on us. We can't change it. If it helps the policy has changed. The return without a reciept is now up to $35 dollars. AND if you have it on your registry you can use the purchase log and return things you got doubles of. But don't take it out on the team members :(

  • I know it may seem like I took it out on the team member, but I didn't. The policy needs to change more. Items on a registry should be allowed to be returned. Especially if it's a duplicate item. It shouldn't be such a hassle. Thank you for your commentary, but I was not rude to the team member.

  • i feel for you. i would just like to point out, as a Target employee- if they treat their "guest" like this, imagine how insignificant a team member feels slaving away for them! i hope you find a way to get some store credit or something.

  • " but you will find that it does not differ much from those of our competitors."

NOT TRUE AT ALL! EVERY single place that I registered (but refused to reg. at Target because of Target's policy) accepted returns from my reg. without a receipt. You might want to forward these comments to your own managers so that Target is aware that there are MANY brides refusing to register at Target because of your policy.

  • Part 4.. therefore allowing lower prices. I do thank you for addressing your concerns with the corporate headquarters 1800 number as I believe it is a great way to provide Target with feedback and to help guide us through a change in procedure. With that said I would like to inform gift givers of the gift receipt reprint option provided within 90 days of a purchase with a valid receipt. I urge you all not only to ask for a gift receipt also include it with the gift it makes returning easier.

  • Please present my video to your manager. I do look at your comments as you kinda agreeing with me in my concern. I really felt like a thief and as if I was trying to return something from a different store. That's how this policy makes people feel. As for the outsourcing, that was beyond frustrating. The return policy is bad enough, and if that is the only way offered to raise my concern further via phone, it is more than inconvenient, it's unacceptable. I appreciate your comments/opinions.

  • Part 3... Now last but not least LauralLitavera, first off congratulations on your recent event. I understand the frustration felt with the difficulty you encountered while attempting to process your multiple returns and I agree it may not be the best policy, but you will find that it does not differ much from those of our competitors. As far as our Corporate Return and exchange call center..it is outsourced to India for the benefit of the consumer as it does lower operational cost.....

  • Part 2..Jkay88 I empathize in regards to your poor experience and am disappointed by the lack of training at the location visited, Target has a right to decline returns if the condition of the item is no longer new and unused however the exception is when Manufacture defect is present because logically one has to assemble and or use the product to discover such defect. By the way Thanks for holding on to your Receipt since it is a requirement for all returns with one exception, value under $20.

  • As a Manager at Target (The best company ever!) I feel it is my duty to clarify some misinformation; Most importantly in regards to Mariescc comment, Target is unable to provide a receipt look up option by Name of the purchaser (It is impossible to track Millions of daily purchases, especially when cash is the method of payment and a name is not required to complete a purchase)however you are correct about the receipt look up option when the credit card used is present at the time of return.

  • *rants w/ you* I was going to register w/ them, but I read this, so I went elsewhere, but I wanted to share w/ you: I bought a Dyson from them & it was a bad one, so I tried to EXCHANGE it w/ a receipt. Since I put it together & turned it on they would not do it. I will no longer buy big ticket items from them because they do not stand behind products that they sell. When I spend $400 on a vacuum via a company, I expect that company (who is making a profit off that product) to "take care of me."

  • Good for you! I hope other brides to be or mom's to be read this as well. It's so frustrating!

  • Geez Louise! That's super frustrating! Thanks for the heads up! I never knew the return policy! Maybe you can sell these items on Ebay?

  • I may have to. Argh! Shipping a vacuum is going to be expensive though!

  • I would soooooo pissed! I don't know if I would have been so calm......hats off for not going nuts~ I fricking hate their return policy...it's crazy! I never had problems at Walmart.....I don't blame you for not wanting to shop at Target.....

  • Seems like it should be easy right? Especially when the box freaking says Target on it! So frustrating!

  • That is bogus!! Here is what they should of done. Quote from Target

If you do not have the original receipt, Team Members may be able to locate the original receipt information if you purchased the item with a credit or debit card and if you present this card at time of return.

If you know the name of the person that purchased the item they can look them up. I did that once when I didn't have a receipt. They gave me a gift card. Go to another Target if you can they might be more helpful
