  • Music is BAD. It really does take over, you cant live a faithful life if you are addicted to music.

    And some people say "music may not be your biggest worry.." Uhh.. If you can't stop yourself from the simplest of things then how will you stop doing the even bigger things?

  • it's ultimately not about music or dogs or orphans in italy - it's about your relationship with your Creator. He will question you, and your biggest problem at that moment might not be music.

  • You are grossly generalizing. Not all musicians behave badly. The people like you who judge others without knowing them are the ones who will go to "hell". You don't know their past or what they've been through. There are musicians who are good people and never have hurt others. Vivaldi, one of the greatest classical musicians, have helped kids in an orphanage in Italy. You don't know nothing.

    I remember I used to listen to music, :[ especially a specefic artist...

    Until I heard his song just 5 minutes ago, and he said something bad about Islam and Allah [SWT] and subhanAllah, I knew, just knew this was a sign for me to stop...Alhamdulilaah, I feel better.

    And that artist just lost my respect...

    Proven medical fact: Listening to soft/gentle music lowers blood pressure... but then so does stroking a dog which is also 'haram'. Why would an all-knowing 'creator' banish what's good for 'his' people?

    What you don't seem to realize is that if you find one or two beneficial things in something, does it mean it's good? You have to look at the bigger picture my friend. People use that same lousy argument trying to defend using of alcohol, even though it is a well known and well documented fact it creates problems in society. Music industry is also one of the most corrupted sectors, mostly useless

However, your "bigger picture"... with its total rejection of one of humanity's greatest forms of expression by means of attributing fanatical perceptions of 'evil' based on absolutely nothing at all... is as comic as your presumption of strangers' drinking habits.

    I was a proud muslim when i was younger but how can something so beautiful be againt God? Music is a collection of noise arranged in a calculated manner. Why God gave us ears, i will never know.

  • @adoubled321 Did you ever mind to check how utterly corrupted the whole music industry is? If you would allow classical music, then you would also have to allow all other sorts of as well. Something that one considers "beautiful" doesn't mean it isn't harmful, very basic logic my friend. Music is a one factor that distracts you from the remembrabce of Allah swt. Instead of using the time for listening to classical music, you should be using it listening for what is actually beneficial for you.

  • Music is more than just a "feel good" thing. Music inspires the soul. It can be used as a vessel for many things. Good, or bad. Just like religion, or government, or any other institution. Saying that music is just some "ho-hum" nonsense thing is quite sad.

  • what do you mean people who listen to music are the worst people? some of the best people i know are musicians! a muslim is not allowed to take refuge in anything but allah? anything that takes up time or interest otherwise devoted to allah is bad? why is there a conflicting interest between music and allah? why can't someone rely on both for comfort? islam is a religion which shuns and completely decimates all forms of CULTURE.

    burying a newborn daughter alive is not any form of culture, it's a disgusting barbaric practice performed by ignorant savages. the ARABIC WORLD used to be at the human PINNACLE of culture and wisdom. a thousand years ago arab mathematicians, astronomers, writers, artists, and architects were at the very forefront of the human species. but when is the last time a muslim has made a significant contribution to mathematics or the arts?

    There is no doubt that the islam world made strong contributions to science & math a thousand years ago. but in the past several hundred years the extremism of views like those of the man in this video have caused the islamic world to fall far behind the modern west in terms of intellectual achievement and discovery of new knowledge. do you know how many muslims there are in the world? how many famous muslim scientists are living today?

  • @lister1nePaz now those examples are very modern, one of them's alive and one of them died in 1999, and im sure theirs many more but these two have a higher popularity thats why i could remmeber them from the back of my head, do mroe research and you'll find many more.

    Music is just sound, of course Allah created the sound! He also created the world and everything bad in it, he even created Alcohol! Does that mean we should "kill" it? No, but we should abstain from it, like Music that makes us go farther away from Allah. Shaitan simple "uses" the Music against you to lure you away from Allah

  • this whole music = sin thing is a seperate issue. i'm not saying i completely agree. i was just trying to say that just because God put something on earth doesn't mean it's GOOD. this transitions into what i was saying before about life being a test. some things, you're supposed to avoid. now, i'm not saying this includes music. it could be true, it could be not completely true. who knows? i'm not saying i do.

    don't jump to conclusions about someone's opinions because on one thing they say.

  • @13ghettolove13 Brother, Muslims turn to hadith because Qur'an tells us to listen to what Prophet Muhammad says. For example, you will find many verses regarding Prayers, but you won't find any verse that tells you that you have to offer 2 rakats or 4 rakat, for that Quran tells you to listen Prophet Muhammad. Just think positively and use your brain.
