  • I live near a model 5/7 siren. It is located at the volunteer fire department. They used to set it off for fire calls. I haven't heard it in 2 or 3 years.

  • whats the difference between a model 3,5,or model 7?

  • @TheCalebtailXD1 I think it has to do with Horsepower. I'm not sure about that though.

  • @Siren1000T1 thinks for telling me though they all three sound sorta like a FS 2001

  • How do you tell what model it is?

  • @blckwidowhny I usually go by the looks of the housing and the sound it makes.

  • I saw a FS model 5t/7t down in Port St. Joe, FL. It's on top of the city hall. I can tell its dual-toned because the fire cheif set it off.

  • @freebrickproductions there are several at the pensicola naval air station at the bunker its a dual toned model 5 its a mixture of whelens ati 2001's and a thunderbolt

  • Sounds like a 2001

  • Is this Model 5 still up?

  • @Ouranos94 It should be. I never heard of any plans of replacing it or removing it.

  • There is one like this in Morrice MI and when they test it there are always a lot of birds that fly out of it. lol

  • Great Recording of that Model 5!:D

  • wow. i used to live in Eastpointe for 5 years and i hadnt known they used an old-style siren that looks like this.

  • That kinda reminds me of jayhawk29's Shawnee KS model 5.

  • this is only the 3rd 5 I've seen painted like this (4th counting mine). The other 3 were in Middlefield CT (one removed in 1994, one replaced in 1994, and the other still stands but is not used).

  • the town I live in used to have a model 2 painted like that

  • sounds just like a 2001 :o same pitch

  • @brianchris4 Yeah, cause I'm pretty sure the 2001 Uses the Model 5 chopper, haha! Everyone hates on the 2001 cause it's 'new' and 'replacing the tbolt' and, supposidly... 'soudns AWFUL' RELALY? Ya like the 5 :D It's the same! Know what I mean?

  • That's either a Model 7 on 240v 3ph or a Model 5 on 480v 3ph. Judging by the slightly higher pitch, it's a 5 on 480v.

  • It's a later model with a low slip marathon motor. The model 5 I worked on in chauncey has the same motor is on 208 with a 240 high leg, and winds up just as fast.

  • wow!! fast wind up!!

  • Great sounding Model 5, Dan! :)

  • Is this running on 440?

  • I am not good at horsepower speed wise so I can't give an answer.

  • @3T22Tanner 240
