First I heard this was from Steve Miller. While I like a lot of his stuff and I liked this a lot when I heard it from Steve, it does not compare to this version (or lots of others). Sorry Stevie!!!! Ya' jes' cain't jam da blues wit' da real feel, if ya know what I'm sayin'. (HA! Tequila makes you say funny things, no?)
I heard from a personal friend of Doug's that Mike's last show before he passed away was opening for Doug at a club in Santa Cruz. He did, fact, jam with Doug's band. I don't know if he our mutual friend was talking about the first or last show. I thought there was one show only but I don't know this as fact.
This is the show your friends refering to. Mike mentions Doug and Auggie meyers during this set.Not sure if I've posted that particular track yet? If not I'll try and get it up one of these days. Take care Frank !
sorry,i didnt realize i forgot to list the complete date.i just updated it. sad to say that it was 2 weeks before he died.ive also posted Kansas City Blues and Frankie and Johnny from the same night.
this show was at the catalyst club in Santa Cruz, he was openin up for the Sir Douglas Quintet and later reportedly sat in with them for "a few dylan tunes" either this night or the next, according to david dann's website
I love how you post all this Bloomfield. Do you know when his last live recording came from?

Super! 1981? This must be one of his final performances. Any ideas of the recording date and location?
Cheers
