  • Most of this ideas are from Dale Carnegie's book, How to Stop Worrying and Start Living ... As well as this lecture this book is amazing too:)

  • Great lecture.

    Something I thought about during his section on "intentions" which helps me: resolving that whatever bad thing might happen, that I can't really change, I am not going to poison right now, when it's not happening, with the emotions and thoughts of what might happen in the future. I'll deal with misery when (and if) it knocks on my door, but I'm not going to invite it over weeks or months ahead of time.

  • So the cortex is more developed in men, whereas women have bigger lymbic system. But the cortex is much more developed and modern part of our brain, and that's exactly what makes us human. That expalins why men are smarter, and women are much more sensitive (to insults, scary sitiuations, stress, etc.)

  • @akura1984 I'm a man and i kind of agree, but not that they are stupid because of that, men and women just consider things from different angles. Since us men are in a dominate position we can manipulate, not saying that women can't do this at all though, just not as good as men. Women may be made to look stupid, and feel stupid because of the inferior complex they face, but that is just them letting other people inhibit them. That is just in general for women, some women are quite the opposite.

  • the secret to beating anxiety is to remain calm especially when you can feel your anxiety coming back. Rather than trying to fight it, accept it, and move on. That very behaviour is inherent to the notion of calmness.
