  • I would pay the price for a whole album just for this cover.

  • Goosebumps!

  • Ok ok.. I have to say this: I sing with them! LOOL

  • Holy shit that was terrible. Stop trying to ruin a good song

  • Where can I buy this? WHERE?!

  • They have to read the lyrics? Thumbs down.

  • Nashville corporate douche bands jack-up another great tune....

  • This is two videos put together. Or they keep changing clothes...

  • a group of my friends and i are doing this song for a performance next year, trying to figure out all of the parts intimidates me though! SUCH an amazing cover.

  • @The Beginning I know most people think that they sing better in the shower, but why sing a whole song there?

  • The whole southern accent thing just kills it

  • The video was made out of 3 different sets of footage, thats why at least 3 of them look like they changed outfits in the middle of the song.

  • I love that you all look like you are having so much fun!

  • It's sad that videos like this only have 79k views, while craptastic songs/videos/bands like Nickelback's new monstrosity of a song have 18 million. People really need to get out more...

  • @jcgre3n Not to mention that people like Jennifer Nettles & Kristian Bush are genuinely good people and do so much to back. They have an obvious appreciation and love for their fans which is more than a lot of other popular artists can say.

  • that gives singing in the shower a whole new meaning!

  • this was great until they started talking.

  • I have no principled stance against covers...but this is an abomination.

  • .....Why do their outfits keep changing during the performance? o_0

  • I love what this song stands for. And I love that these guys get it.

  • if you know anything about bluegrass music dear toastybricks you'd realize their harmonies have a lot more roots than you may imagine.

  • ...I have a fever. And the only cure is more banjo...

  • this is one of those covers that is actually VERY good. I was surprised, cause I'm protective of my Mumford songs lol lol. Rock on Sugarland and Little Big Town!!!

  • @Compass427 Yeah me too. lol

  • all those guitars and voices and still not nearly as much power in it as M&S. i like that they did the song though :) good on 'em

  • I'm not big on country music OR covers, but this isn't half bad. The harmonies are what get me. Nice.

  • there is [...] an alignment, "A" cry of my heart to see

  • Really good! Love LBT, not the biggest Sugarland fan- but I really enjoyed that. Kimberly's voice really stood out in this song, in a good way :)

  • Butchered it. Took all the indented melody out of the song and replaced it with one that doesn't even match the emotion of the song. BOOOOO

  • @bananymous1 Quit being an ass and just appreciate what an awesome song this is. Just because they're aren't as awesome as M&S doesn't make this performance bad. It's actually quite great and they're all really great performers and singers. You can tell they're having fun and they sound good. That's all that really matters to me. Also, they made the song their own. They didn't sing it the way M&S does because that's not what covering a song is about. They were still emotional.

  • Absolutely love this cover...I don't understand how you can say there's not genuine emotion in their performance. Brilliant.

  • lol that crowd sure is intense.

  • I am so mesmerized by this performance. I can't explain it.

  • The original is an amazing song...

  • MOre Sugarland and LBT!!!

  • Thank you for sharing this with us, SL. Big Love!

  • As much as I HATE Sugarland, this cover nearly brought tears to my eyes. Wonderful.

  • Covers are NEVER meant to compare to the originals. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Mumford. And this song. Mumford is full of angry emotion and passion and is just gorgeous. They have super emotion. BUT. This cover is ALSO amazing, as a separate piece from Mumford's original! (and I don't even like country music!) I don't understand how people say there is no emotion. They are COVERING it, so the emotion has changed/transformed. But just LOOK at them sing...SO much emotion. Don't knock musicians!

  • No disrespect, but am i the only one who finds this not only disrespectful to Mumford and Sons but actually bad? All of Mumford and Sons songs, especially Sigh No More, is emotional. They had no emotion. This group couldn't feel the music nor the song.

  • @wDoucheCanoe Agreed, this felt incredibly plastic and apathetic, like they just covered it to seem cool or something lol.

  • @TheOutsyder sugarland and little big town don't have to "TRY" to be cool...they just ARE cool.

  • @countrySTAR06 Your username says enough for me to understand why you like these bands lol.

  • They can sing, i give them that. But is it just me or do u not feel the emotion coming threw. I like big named bands doing covers of smaller indie groups, it kinda gets there names out there. but I didn't care to much for this one

  • "Country" bands with no banjo?.... sounds and looks like something I would see at a "progressive" church.... OK, but not nearly as good or passionate as Mumford and Sons.

  • Eff Sugarland. That woman's voice is ridic, and she hurt this song.

  • could they have any more fun? i dont think so

  • @Trifecktaify

if you would have seen the rest the concert sugarland, idk about lbt but they put a lot of effort in to their shows

  • I'm American and I absolutely love Mumford and Sons. I mean they are incredible musicians. I agree that this COVER isn't nearly as good as the original, but it is still a good cover and well worth listening too. Isn't that the point of a cover? Put your own little sound to it. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery after all!

  • Comment removed

  • It's a good COVER. COVER. That's the point of a COVER. It's not the original.

  • A little too polished, a little too american country delivery, however I do like the thicker vocal textures in some parts. Maybe it's because I'm English but this does lack the charisma of a Mumford performance. Less is more.

  • Yeah that was great but I'm pretty sure at least one of these bands has a banjo player. So where was he for this???

  • @JimiKV Neither band has a banjo player.

  • This is INCREDIBLE <3 Love Sugarland <3

  • 18 people are stupid... This is so good! A great tribute to Mumford & Sons

  • I'm not sure if we're watching the same video because all I see is passion!. It's an amazing cover! Is it different than M &S? Absolutely, but it's still great in its own right.

  • And while these two bands may not seem anywhere near as passionate as Mumford & Sons, you must take into consideration that they are totally DIFFERENT bands. Each band shows passion in different ways. Plus, Mumford & Sons wrote the damn song, these two bands here are just covering it.

  • I dont care that this is not as good as the original. Its a great honor for Mumford & Sons should ANYONE cover their beautiful songs.

  • @Courtkneehead15 I LOVE Mumford & Sons. I wouldn't be watching this right now if I didn't. But to say that these bands here suck is going a bit over the top. "crappy songs that mean absolutely nothing"? Go listen to Stay by Sugarland. Watch the video, look up on the process they went through making that video. You'll realize that that song means a lot more than you think. Yes, Mumford & Sons is constantly restoring my faith in modern music, but to say that about Sugarland is just blasphemy.

  • This is good, but I guess Mumford and sons' version (or Marcus anyway) touches my heart a little more.

  • AUTOTUNE FREE!!!!!!!

  • I like how their on-stage outfits change from shot to shot haha

  • any cover that sugarland sings is better than the original!! :):):):):):)

  • @sugarland6100 Watch Mumford and sons play that song live and you may disagree

  • @ Strongbad:

    I know that.

    Love Mumford and Sons.

These bands performing it here are country.

    It was a compliment.

I don't like Country- but liked this version anyway!

  • Not a country fan and don't know these bands.

But this was a joyful version!

    I enjoyed it!

  • @JediJen7 Mumford and Sons is not country.

  • You'd think they'd at least get the words right...

  • Comment removed

  • a-ma-zing

  • Not as much heart as the original, but a fun song

  • I like country and I like Sugarland but this does not have the same power as the original M&S version. It's supposed to be a personal message with feeling and roughness to it, this is more like a polished performance.

  • @bulok69 I totally agree with you, but it is a really good polished performance :) they did a great job

  • They were just singing in harmony, not just any song can be done that way. The original writers would understand that it proves what a very well written song. Get over it.

  • They aren't trying to change the original, their

just singing it in harmony. Get over it! Yes the original is just that the original, they just showed how good it sounds sung in harmony. If anything it proves what a great song the original is, not ever song can be redone like this and sound great. Kudos to the writers, and they would absolutely understand.

  • Why do these stupid bands have to sing such a beautiful song with a simple but powerful voice and sing it like it there in Glee or something. A powerful voice is much better than these plastic voices. Mumford and Sons made an old folk masterpiece and this group had to butcher it with a boring modern version that has no originality.

  • @ajcoaster Stop being a hater. Why would one talented group (like the Mumford & Sons) complain about another group of talented magicians like LBT (who could sing the phone book in four part harmony) and Sugarland covering their song.

  • probably one of the best covers i have ever heard.

  • I love when Sugarland and Little Big Town perform together! I was at the show where Jen was wearing the gold tie necklace in this video!

  • i really didn't want to like this. really, really, really. alas, it gave me chills. hats off.

  • @jakerpbj me either. i did not want to like this. but i do.

  • Seems to me covering others music is complimentary to the original artists.

  • Thanks for killing the song.. and not in a good way.

  • 13 people arent country music fans

  • Don't think i'll ever be able to listen to this song again after this butchering.

  • Hey if you don't like Sugarland and Little Big Town I have a suggestions: Shut the fuck up and go whine somewhere else.

  • *a suggestion

  • Eh, here's my complaint: a band of British hipsters have managed to produce more authentic sounding, more honest and emotional American folk/country music than an American country band. This sounds like a American Idol/Glee cover, as does most mainstream country music these days. It's nothing but generic pop music with a little bit of a twang.

  • @toastybricks hater! lol.... when they are ALL singing i feel like that... because there are too many chefs in the kitchen... but when just Jennifer sings alone... there's nothing generic or poppy about it. to me anyway.

  • @toastybricks why are you so worried about how it comes out whether its old school country, texas country, artists now a day or pop country? country music still contains some of the best messages across all music genres.

  • Great cover of a damn good song by some very talented people in my humble opinion. To all you that say it is awful...you are entitled to your opinion for wrong or right. Its a cover and as we all know, covers are not meant to be exact copies of the original. I personally love their harmonies but then again I am a big LBT fan. Oh by the way..if you google the lyrics...there are at least four different lyrical versions floating out there so lighten up eh?

  • this sounds beautiful

  • I personally am anti-sugarland. Mumford and sons is one of the greatest bands i have come across and I love them dearly. I watched this expecting to be disappointed and annoyed but this is actually very good and I am so proud of mumford for the recognition that they are receiving.

  • Since I'm a fan of music in general, and I don't base my judgement off of pre-concieved notions and actually judge by the performance itself, I have to say i like both versions, and both are good. Doesn't matter whos is better. Tehy didn't ruin it, they did a friggin cover. If you were a muscian and you wanted to cover a song you loved, you'd get criticized no matter what.

  • Glad Mumford and Sons is getting some recognition but this is horrible, just terribad!

  • mumford and sons make my life complete. so of course i hear this and say whaaat are they doing destroying my music but honestly this is good i dont like these bands personally but I cant deny that Im glad they can look at bands like mumford and sons and be inspired enough to cover there music. thats my two cents atleast.

  • That was absolutely awful. Someone else posted that it was like a giant vacuum sucking all the feeling out of something, and I couldn't agree more. Plus, they (like many others I see covering the song) got the lyrics wrong. They sing, "There is a design, an alignment TO cry, of my heart to see..." which, frankly, doesn't even make sense. The correct lyrics are, "There is a design, an alignment, A cry, of my heart to see..." A subtle but significant difference, in my opinion.

  • Impressive editing during the concert portion. I watched this video 5 or 6 times before I noticed that it was several concerts put together. All of a sudden I was "wait, she is wearing a dress, no pants, no a dress... what! "

  • these people are talented in their own right but this is the disney version, think of a giant vaccum sucking all the feeling out of something

  • wow this is fantastic, beautiful harmonies and they fill up the room with sound! Two great groups!

  • fantastic!

  • @tracelyn I'm glad you were exposed to Mumford & Sons through this cover. It's too bad we don't agree on how the original song is represented here but to each his or her own. :)

  • this sounds like a glee'd up version of a great song...

  • Whoa... Play the guitar, sing harmonies and still do a quick change act, act

  • Far too polished and too many voices in my opinion. The melody is drowned out by all of the other harmonies. However, when you finally do hear the melody, the girl's voice is far too nasally for my liking.

What made M & S's version brilliant is that is was pretty raw in style. There is a certain passion in their recording that is lacking here in Sugarland's.

A very nice attempt but I'll stick with the original.

  • @BentonOglesby Hm, lack of passion? All I see is passion in these musicians! Sugarland puts heart and soul into everything they sing - grab any of their albums. Personally, I think it's fabulous that they covered this song. M&S was a group I wasn't familiar with at all, but I had a chance to be exposed to their music through Sugarland and LBT. I love this collaboration - here's hoping for many more!

  • i love both these bands but the original Mumford and Sons version is way better! hands down

  • This makes me sad.

  • I listened to the M&S version of the song and I don't really like it that much. I guess his voice is just too, I don't know, scratchy for me. Granted I did hear this version first.

Personally I like this version a LOT better. To each his own, other commenters!

  • @Tustin2121 I have to agree with you. Their version just seems so polished. I for one love their harmonies. But everyone likes what they like right?

  • Way too many harmonies, can't hear the melody at all.

  • not half as good as the m&s version, good try though

  • They sure are fast at changeing clothes back and forth!!!

  • To no offense to any fans of these bands...but this isn't as good as Mumford & Sons. Go listen! I promise if you like this you'll love them!

  • Not as good as Mumford & Sons!

  • Comment removed

  • not as good as Mumford, but decent

  • I was VERY skeptical when I saw the title to this video. I am a huge mumford and sons fan and not a big mainstream country fan. But they really do a decent job.

  • @jkeyes7 I couldn't agree more.

  • RECORD A STUDIO VERSION OF THIS AND PUT IT ON ITUNES PLEAAASE

  • They need a AWESOME button on here. That's great!!! :)

  • no autotune required...

  • sugarland and little big town need to make a cd together!!!!

  • i looooooove this song and this version is awesome ..... they need to do an album together !!!

  • *LIANT

  • OMG I LOVE these two bands together.. I say they put out a CD of their favorite covers: including LIAMT , WIM and this one... And any ones they want cause I KNOW whatever they record it will kick butt!! Rock on SL and LBT!!! LBT was not in Asheville,NC which ticks me off cause I see what I missed!!:( thank goodness for YouTube.. :)

  • Saw this in Charlotte NC a few weeks ago and all though they have nothing on Mumford and Sons IMOP - It was awesome to see this country power house cover on of my favorite bands.

  • Sometimes something just reaches out and grabs you by the shoulders, and shakes you and makes you look and appreciate what's happening. This is just a treasure. Amazing.

  • Best version of this song YET! I <3 Sugarland/LBT FOREVER :D

  • Comment removed

  • you made this song even better then the original

  • @trzebia

I hope you're joking... Its alright, but I don't feel the same emotion or intensity as the original.

  • @natedoggld182

no, i'm not joking ;) i simply prefer this version ;)

  • Let's see any other "mainstream" artists do something this pure and simple.

  • There needs to be a "Love" button on Youtube for songs like this. Amazing!!

  • You are ALL MY FAVORITE!! Tonight I am singing Little White Church and Stuck Like Glue and I hope I do these songs justice because you are all so AMAZING! I Love how you all collaberate together I saw your tour and it was THE BEST!

  • OMG!! THIS IS AWESOME! :) YOUR VOICES SOUND GREAT TOGETHER. :)

  • Love the build-up, the fun, the collaboration...favorite artists doing what they do best

  • Your voices are like magic together...flawlessly beautiful <3
