  • 7:28 - 8:04: The ENTIRE reason I ever bothered collecting the Keys. I love that ending so much. There's something epic about it.

  • I own this game and i won on normal. can you get this ending on hard mode or only on very hard?

  • this is wat true games r really like from the 90's now its about realistic, graphics and online. where is the challenge? thats y i play rock band

  • 4:32, look closely at the red princess's face, her eyes are freaky looking.

  • I must say Sparkster looked and sounded insane amounts better on the SNES

But the upgrades in this version where frkn awesome!

Both have their strengths i guess (im not gonna say weaknesses because that sounds far to negative for such a cool franchise)

I really dont get how they manage to screw up such a cool game, with that new DLCrap thing :S

I guess thats the difference between for example Nintendo backing up their ever lasting franchises. They actually manage to fit them in this era.

  • i love the 'You mad?' face Axel has on while fighting

  • This series always had gameplay elements from the other Konami franchises. The Castlevania influence is apparent. XD

  • 4:20

    SEIZURE MOMENT!!!

  • ok heres a list of enemys that was in the Sparkster Series

    1. Wolfs

    2. Pigs

    3. (I Might Be Sure If Theirs Crocs In A Game But I Forgot)

And In The Remake, For Xbox360 & Ps3

They Brang Back The Wolfs & Pigs lol

  • it's hard to say which was better, the SNES version, or the Megadrive version... It's pretty equal, IMO... Both versions are hard as hell!

  • this isthe besy ending on game history

  • Don't you love how at 0:48 Axel's all "u mad" and then Sparkster beats the shit out of him?

  • Brother vc tem noção do q eese jogo do kraio

é muito foda porra de ben 10 uk SPARKSTER RULES

    RESPECT

  • pity he doesn't show the final boss doing the captain ginyu body switch attack

  • lol i love the music but isnt a kiss or a hug for him?

  • @G4bryel63

Sparkster's like link he's just doing his job and that other stuff never happens.

  • What a man sparkster is he returned the sword!!

  • WHAT!? sparkster didn't get a kiss from the girl in the end? rats!

  • @Vixenfox259 Bitches be crazy dawg

  • @Vixenfox259 Becuase Sparksters Too Awsome....

  • Is it me or do the credits sound like "Nothings Gonna Stop Us Now"?

  • @SupaAFC89 yeah its sounds like that song

  • So in the finale we get to see an endboss that resembles Castlevania's Dracula, a seizure-inducing explosion, and Sparkster yet again missing out on some sweet opposum ass.

  • LOL. Maybe you're right O.o Sweet opposum Ass xD

  • @Zer0Funk and even still we all must respect him for his timeless abstinence

  • what I don't get is that why is this version and the senes version carry the same name? They are completely different and unique games of their own.

  • so what's the orange thing on evil-sparkster's face at 1:00?

    a squid?

  • @happyking9 that was this hair after his helmet broke. BTW the "evil sparkster" name is axel gear.

  • ever think that axel was sparkster's brother once? I mean think about it. he has been fighting spark for years now, and there is some kind of connection. axel fight the same way as him. he almost has the same armour and skills as him.

  • Actually, they were once comrades of the same group, but Axel betrayed Sparkster by trying to steal the book that contained the secrets of the rocket knights and by crippling Sparkster's foster father. They are enemies since then, and obviously remain so until this day. >.>

  • @MegaKnuckles777 as luke and vader showed on episode 6,

    betrayal is an ugly thing.

  • Meteor!

  • 3:53 I've got the feeling I have said that atack somewhere..

  • hehe can't wait for the new one ! wait tell may 1st there bring it back :3 and im getting it for the PC it takes place after rocket's not this once :3 and im a big ass fan of rockets and im really happy there bring it back Konami was hinding it and now they bring it back :D i beat this game again after i hear that a new one is comeing out on may 1st :D the Knight has came back welcome back rocket knight!

  • Wow, pretty awesome. I only played (and completely beat on Crazy Hard) Sparkster for the SNES. I had no idea this one would be so epic! :D

  • Sparkster definitely did not get the recogintion he deserved. Hopefully the new one coming out will give it to him.

  • I can't wait till the new Rocket Knight is released. It looks quite faithful to the 16-bit games.

  • I need Sparkster: RKA2 - Stage1,2,3,4, and 5

  • Fighting Axel in this game was my favorite boss fight of all time, just because of how much equal footing you both have and even if you're really skilled at timing and such, it's still an even battle.

  • i remember!!! this lvl was my favourite! i couldn't belive i beated it!

  • The SNES version in no way ties in to the others except for its characters. Its kinda squeal but not.

  • Well this is the Sega Megadrive/Genesis version, the SNES version is not the same. It was made by a different company, so their both sequals but are very different from each other.

  • The SNES version was still made by Konami. It's just a different game.

  • I think he meant a different programming staff at Konami. And that's true. The only thing both games share are the composers, being that the reason why both have practically the same musical score.

  • All Rocket knight titles were made by Konami

  • Super Sparkster FTW! XD That finishing move was awesome. :p

I guess it's just as well this one wasn't brought up-to-date like Sonic.... It probably could've gone as wrong as that one did. :S Shame though- would be sweet to play this on a modern console...

  • well that wish is gonna come true from what i here, steam and xbox live, possible the PS3 network are going to have another sparkster game available for download/sale on the market in 2010, not quite sure on the specific date

  • i never knew about gold sparkster and the rocket knight series is one of my favorites

  • Big evil! (3:00)

  • Comment removed

  • There was a rocket knight adventure 2 D :

  • I said the same thing. Lol.

  • Sonic can turn yellow and run.

Sparkster can turn yellow and run and swing a sword well and has a JETPACK!!!!!

I understand if they want Metal Gear as their lead series, but why the hell did Konami ever stop making Sparkster?! He'd be great today!

  • Sonic was just too much competition. As awesome of a series as this is, it didn't stand a chance.

  • And yet Bubsy did last up until PS1? LAME.

    Sparkster FTW.

  • @Arc13 hehe wait tell may 1st there bring it back :3 and im getting it for the PC it takes place after rocket's not this once :3 and im a big ass fan of rockets and im really happy there bring it back Konami was hinding it and now they bring it back :D i beat this game again after i hear that a new one is comeing out on may 1st :D

  • @Arc13 I think konami heard your prayer. they made another one.

  • @Arc13 Lemme Correct you.

Sonic can turn yellow ,run IN FRIGGIN LIGHT SPEED, Invulverable,Breathe in space, and can kick your ass faster than you can say OWNED!!

    YOU"RE TOO SLOW!!! ;D

  • @KennethMoreland

As much as I was a fan of sonic (and still am) sonic is not invulnerable, he almost died at the end of sonic 2 if I remember correctly had tails not flown the plane and saved his ass, sonic died in sonic 06 as well, oh yeah if sonic runs out of rings in space as super sonic he's dead so he's not invincible and sparkster breathed in space in rka1 (probably due to the spell sherry cast on him that allowed him to fly into space) and he flew in space before sonic, not hating sonic

  • @KennethMoreland

Cntd: I'm not a fan of golden sparkster and like this sequel thought it was a bad idea since rka1 was so unique and this game gave him an attitude and gave him an unecessary character model change and looks way too angry instead of happy go lucky and not too serious lke rka1, although he has part of this look in sparkster on snes it was balanced out a lot better and without treasure on board it sadly shows in this series :( and konami need to get them back now.

  • @Arc13 starting eating your words today :)

  • @Arc13 Meet super sonic's brother.

  • @Arc13 from what I understand, there was a huge market, to compete in against all these mascots, they delivered a great game, but failed to be as popular as even the crappy games like Bubsy *Shivers horribly from the memories* Then came the 3D age, and trying to make a 3D RKA game was a daunting Challenge since it was the trend. Thus again the character and fans didn't get the continued spotlight he deserves. Though a year ago they did make a arcade game with him on X-box live. Not close enough.

  • Did Sparkster go Super? O_O

  • had this as a kid. a decent game imo

  • 1:02

    "By the Power of Elhorn!!!

    I HAVE THE POWER!!!!!"

  • I remember first doing this. I couldn't believe he was ginger. >:D

  • I had no clue that RKA had a sequal :S lol.

  • i love the way his mask breaks like metaknight when he's defeated!

  • Nice job, but I have a question: do you HAVE to play Very Hard Mode to get the True Ending?

  • No, Just collect all of the hidden swords in the game, including the intro one.

  • yup! i should know... i playd it on all settings to try and get this!

  • You get the Full True Ending if you get all of the hidden swords in both the Hard Mode and the Very Hard Mode.

  • If you complete the game in Normal difficulty, wether you are getting the swords and Gold Sparkster or not, you'll only miss the Zebulos castle cutscene (giving back Cherry to the king of Zebulos and else), which is exclusive to the Hard and Very Hard difficulties. The rest should show up, including the final cutscene after the credits if you get the swords and Gold Sparkster. However, if you complete the game in Easy difficulty, you'll miss practically everything from the ending.

  • 0:54 WHAT AN EPIC FINNISH!!!

  • why the hell does he keep avoiding the females is he gay or something. jeese if i where sparkster i would have stayed.

  • Comment removed

  • When I think about it, maybe he just was just waiting for the king to be gone before he tried to get it on with either princess..

  • Well the game is called Rocket KNIGHT Adventures. If you didnt know true knights in Medieval times went by a code of honor known as chivalry. Being the true knight that sparkster is, he fulfills his duty and ask for nothing more from the women. All in a knight's day of work lol.

  • some knights actualy had wives back then

  • You're right about that; but I thought the princess in blue WAS Sparkster's girlfriend.

  • Isn't she the one Sparkster rescued in the first game?

  • exactly!

  • I agree with you i thing i read in the manual the princess in blue is his girlfriend and the other (secretly in love by him) is her relative, cousin i think.

however i may be mistaken that was a long time ago...

  • That's right, that's indeed what the manual says.

  • this game and sonic have the best soundtrak ever

    i love these songs

  • Holy f- HE'S A HIGHLANDER

  • Wow that was amazing!!!! i also got this ending and people at school said it wsn't real:) I think this video proves categorically it was. You took King Gredol apart so easily. when I did it I didn't have the Golden armour. perhaps that's why I found it so hard. Probably:)

  • That game had one kickass soundtrack.

  • I like the last boss in this game.

  • Not gonna lie.... If this game was remade to todays standards I think it would be a very fun 3D adventure game. Melee + flight + fast pace = decent game... I'd buy it just because of the name

  • I agree with you. I've had dreams of a new Rocket Knight game for a long time that actually let you explore the kingdoms of Elhorn and battle!

Be careful though, when you combine the terms "today's standards" and "decent game" you really being to describe the atmosphere of today's gaming world. Too many developers today are milking old franchises to simply make "decent games" instead of GREAT ones.

If Konami had not set out to make a great game back in the 90's, we would not remember it today!

  • I can see it being an action RPG, with on-rails shooter parts every now and then.

  • (whoops, dumb reply glitch) if they made a new Sparkster game, I mean.

  • It's true that this game, RKA 2 would have a good concept for today's standards, but unfortunately, RKA 2 is still rubbish compared to the original RKA.

I good game is supposed to grip you till the end. RKA2 gripped me the first 3 seconds. RKA 1 gripped me all the way.

  • I posted my comment a month ago, and I honestly have to say that I agree. At first I liked both equally (well, all three, I guess). But after playing around a little more, RKA2 just felt different. Seemed too fast, with the auto-charging jetpack.

I'm glad that he popped up in New International Track and Field (for the DS). Which reminds me, I need to buy that.

  • The entire game looked and felt like Sonic; the view was also more 2D than the fully drawn world that was in RKA1. And Sparkster was designed to look like Sonic as well.

That's what happens if you try to drop an original formula to imitate a successful franchise. Like the title of a book I owned: "Imitation is Limitation".

New International Track and Field? (looks at wikipedia) Oh my god, if he appeared in that game, that means Konami still remembers him!

Or just wanted to fill the list...

  • the problem with this game was that it was multi-platform and we all know how much more bright colored the SNES is, not that hte MegaDrive was less colorful, I think the difference wasn't that big, but the bottomline is that, I think they made this game more for the SNES then the MD, hence making it more colorful, also the Sonic copying thing is there too and almost only small bits and pieces from the original are there, they ruined the game. RKA2 isn't bad, but RKA was much MUCH better.

  • No point in that. Sparkster: Rocket Knight Adventures 2 for the Mega Drive/Genesis and Sparkster for the Super Nintendo are two completely different games made by two completely different programming teams, which only share the Sparkster title (note that the SNES game lacks the Rocket Knight Adventures 2 title of the Mega Drive/Genesis game), some common aesthetics (for the main character mostly) and most musics if just because the composers for both games were the only staff in common.

  • they were both different games, but shared the same gameplay, correct?

they still sucked... that was my point.

  • Nope. The gameplay is different. The only thing they share is part of the music score.

  • mmmh, yeah you're right, just checked that out, I guess I was just so appalled by the Genesis sequel that I never gave the SNES a try, I knew they were different, but I thought that was just in terms of levels and enemies, not the gameplay, since the look is basically the same.

I still prefer the first game a million times over, even the graphics. I hate those colors that stand out too much, I much rather have that hand drawn feeling the first one had.

  • ohh thats how to get the ending i beat the game but i only saw sparkster flying away from the castle and i thought "what for a kind of chity ending is this??"

  • Casting meteor at 2:19

  • how do you get the gold armor????

  • collect the 7 swords in the game in normal or highter difficulty

  • Make sure you don't miss the sword in the demo at the beginning of the game, too.

  • I played through this twice after beating it on very hard with the gold armor, aside from being able to keep the boosted charge rate on your jetpack there wasn't anything different about the ending the second time through.

  • That's true. The golden armor wasn't like being Super Sonic; all it did was power up your attacks and the jet pack because you could still be hurt just like normal.

  • And this was the last we've seen from Sparkster...

    I wish he'd make a comeback already.

  • <3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3 this game i miss it so much

  • Axle Gear had to be the coolest rival/boss in games at that time. He's right up there on my top 10 villains who are evil just for the sake of being evil

  • I remember playing this as a kid, could never beat, now I wish I had the skill to do it then~ awesome ending and final boss.... but I can't help but feel a slight Sonic rip-off

  • This game is very close to Sonic's games, isn't it? Because you have to retrieve seven swords (as the chaos emeralds), and you turn into a golden opposum as super sonic!

  • its not necessarily close, in terms of gameplay it is in no way shape or form similar to sonic, the Seven swords aspect was but they stole that from dragonball. but at least its a reference to the knight hero being" the knight in shining Armor " type of guy, so it fits well.and there's more than one main villian, and its a good story, for its time.and it had multiple genres of gameplay in one game...it was good, ashame it was written off as a rip off of sonic.

  • Man I rememeber this...i never got all 7 swords though lol...i remember when i first played this and the princess transformed into that monster lol it scared the ish outta me lol I loved it

  • I liked the first Rocket Knight better.

  • lol 1:08, Highlander

  • this boss really reminds me of Greedy (the final boss from Ristar)

  • When I first played the end, that monster switched our bodies. That was pretty confusing.

  • Sadly, I only have the SNES 1. Had to give up my Genesis.

  • long live sparkster as an instant classic

  • Cool, All the years I've had this game, and I could just barely beat it on normal. I played it again not too long ago and got all seven swords. Games like this seemed near impossible to beat as a kid.

  • Whew! I havent tried this game yet but it really looks impressive. It shares the characteristics of the 16 bit era jewels. A must try I gotta say.

  • It's too bad Sparkster never got the same kind of promotion as Sonic, Mario and Crash Bandicoot. He had some cool games too.

  • i beat this game on very hard last year, and let me tell you.i wasnt that hard at all.got al 7 swords too.i love the ending theme.and i love this game!!!!!!it was a hard find too!@!!

  • Yah Go Derek!!! I've never seen this game before though..:D

  • I love this game! I could never beat it as a child but now that I'm older I beat it everytime I play it. Best unsung game of all time!

  • isnt it amazing how theres certain games we could never beat as kids but when we get older and play them again its like their easier now?
