That bill cooper interview was the reason I watched this video. I'm assuming that the hovering saucer was within the arena? The camera cuts to a birds eye view with no helicopters to be seen and it's not to hard to put helicopter sounds in there.

After a little research, I found out that two helicopters lifted this monstosity into the stadium. You can hear the rotor wash if you listen carefully. Two companies went bankrupt trying to produce a jet powered saucer, but it cound not be controlled, and one almost crashed. Hence the extremely long 'tether' lifting the 'flying suacer'.
