I believe The Bible Gateway has an Easy To Read version if some of the passage is difficult to understand. Jesus is not in the text - the verse you quoted is Peter quoting Moses when he warns the people that if they do not listen to the subsequent prophets, they will be cut off from their people (people of God). Peter is saying that this is still true of Jesus.
What's more, "will die, separated from God's people," does not translate to "will be killed by God's people," and even better reflects what I had read before.

I believe The Bible Gateway has an Easy To Read version if some of the passage is difficult to understand. I haven't read the Easy To Read version myself (on iPad), but it should clear up any ambiguous language.

Jesus is not in the text - the verse you quoted is Peter quoting Moses when he warns the people that if they do not listen to the subsequent prophets, they will be cut off from their people (people of God). Peter is saying that this is still true of Jesus.
What's more, "will die, separated from God's people," does not translate to "will be killed by God's people," and even better reflects what I had read before.
