@ROBERTOSIERVODEDIOS I have the same macbook pro and pro tools 9 HD. I had those same problems when I first started using pro tools...What you need is an external Hard drive that is fast enough for audio (7200 rpm) use this as a dedicated drive for Pro Tools files. It takes the strain off your cpu. And you need to change setting on your mac to work with PT9HD....
Hi, Im writting from Ecuador, i have a mac book pro i7 4 processors, 500 gb, and pro tools 9 whit a project mix but i cant run it good, it always gives me problems whit cpu overload, remove some plug ins, I have done everything online people say but not working, it gets slow and i cant put a guitar amp plug in because goes slow and sometimes stops.
@aultmonking how is it an ad if I just put a number up. Do I look like I work for them, nimrod? Anyway if you're smart you'd call them for you next Mac unless you like paying $400 more than you have to. 877-386-5185. And check out my new Pro Tools midi set up video.
So many 'probably classic' organ sounds don't seem available as VSTi, or as free samples.
So I decided to share the unique sounds of organs I love to record myself so much. Click my name for FREE ORGAN SAMPLES: LESSER-HEARD HAMMOND PLUS YAMAHA ELECTONE AND ROLAND INSTRUMENTS.
Copy, record, comment and enjoy! Or better still, make your own.
That's a nice lesson, but incomplete. After you've made your bounce you still have to make it into an interleavened stereo file. And if you do pickup recordings like he said, you'll also have to consolidate the separate sections together into one single file. So, here goes: Select the file/s, hold down (shift option 3) to consolidate the files, then right click on the file name in the audio window to the right, and choose "export regions as files." choose stereo and go ;)
do u know how to copy hooks and choruses throughout a song for editing purposes? i.e u lay a first verse., lay a chorus, lay a 2nd verse how would i copy that original chorus after that 2nd verse?
@Rush814704 what you would do is you copy the hook and then you would go up to your upper left and click on Spot and then input the exact time where you want the hook to kick in if you do it while grid is clicked on it will off sometimes by half a bar or so
Mixing on ProTools LE is a big waste of time... Even more of a waste on M-Powered. You'll never get mixes to sound good unless you spend more money on clocks and converters...or get HD 3 Words...Black Lion Audio
@smokeizfire thats not true pro tools has the best equalizers and compressers than any any other programs i used i can make a song sound radio ready without even using any extra anything you just need to learn your software better lol
@smurfnoose I disagree. The "clocking" in all of their LE or M-Powered hardware devices are not very accurate. Digital audio works heavily on word clock...this is true for any DAW..including Protools. This has nothing to do with software plug-ins. The hardware and DAW software are interconnected with each other. Why do you think their is an entire market that sell hardware "clocking devices"(Big Ben) and A/D and D/A conversion. Protools is famous for TDM and it's editing capabilities :)
I don't do a lot of live recording. It's definitely a personal preference, I'm not saying its bad software. It's got excellent live mixing and recording options. But using it like a DAW the whole interface is just kind of cumbersome. The piano roll is kinda wack too. Were I in a rock band I would likely use protools.
can you please help me if what computer is workin good on pro tools le 7.3........i have a emchine t3882 celeron........pple says this comp not workin well.........what ur suggestion about this?
no because its a celeron which cannot process that much data very well without your computer slowing down. it might work for some small sessions but as your projects get bigger and more complex, you will need a bigger better more complex computer as well.
In my own experience, I have discovered that if you bus all channels to one stereo track and play/record, and then say you export as file, you end up with a different final product than if you were to bounce to disc. In my experience, its usually the mix's overall volume that is affected in some way.
yes you can.... if the file tracks are a pro tools database files.... otherwise not........ if you want to edit an mp3 file or whatever tipe of file tracks get Nuendo 4....
Logic and Pro Tools are just more in demand because most studios are built around that set up. There's nothing wrong with other programs like Cubase. They all do the same basic thing. Arguing about it just makes you look foolish.
Mac systems are geared toward multimedia. They're the #1 choice among graphic designers, audio engineers, and things like that. That's just how Macs are designed.
PCs are good as well. But Macs seem to be more efficient. =)
A bus is an auxiliary channel to send multiple (or single) track through. Its like plug-ing a bunch of tracks into a mixer and combining them, then you re-route them or render them together.
Adobe Audition 1.5 is very good for basic recording. dosent lag like audacity does. i am in a band btw and record instruments through my PC. Audition is good
and this video is daft i work a lot with protools as a freelance sound engineer, but i have never come into a situation where i would do this, there are much better ways :S

Thanks for the tutorial. Great tips on routing. I have never tought of rendering the busses to a new stereo track. I just use the bounce to disk function instead, but is there any advantages in rendering? Or isn't that what 'bounce to disk' is doing? Correct me if I am wrong.

kinda stupid for the 'industry standard' and the the fact you can only bounce real-time sucks too
