  • awwwwwwwww!!!!

  • He's chewing his bone; he know's i'm playing a game that's why he is wagging his tail. He has never bitten me or anyone, however I would not be foolish enough to try and take his bone from him or any dog.

I love him to bits, the video was taken 5 years ago and he is 9 years old now.

  • @ballsee our golden does the same thing, he will growl, but you can easly take it out he´s mouth with out him biting you :P

  • looks like hes got a sticky sweet stuck to the roof of his mouth mine use to do this, beautiful dog enjoy him while he has good health

  • every herd of a play growl? silly

  • My golden makes these groaning noises all the time. The vet says she's the happiest dog he's ever seen and she's always wagging her tail, but she doesn't like to bark, just groan and talk, lol

  • looks like he's chewing gum

  • I have a 2 year old Golden that comes to my side of the bed in the morning with a sock or slipper and growls to wake me up almost every morning. Check Out "Alvin tool Dog" on Youtube

  • so cute and funny

  • my golden growls at me too,ive had her for 7 years and when she does this it only means she wants a play fight...so we get it on ,i beat the shit out of her (playfully ) lol and she is happy as ..she has never bitten me..

  • Nom Nom Nom Nom Nom ^^

  • I noticed that you did not try to remove what was in his mouth. Probably wise.

  • my dog does the same thing :)

  • that dog is talking not growling I have a golden and he is a service dog and he dose that belive me my one is not agresive at all

  • @MrChaunceygirl Let's not start attacking one's nationality as some desperate ploy to validate your over-reactive nature.

  • @MrChaunceygirl Oh no! I am being reported for stating facts that don't align with your opinion. How horrible! I must be a douchebag because I don't like my dog growling. What a douchebag I am. You are right, you should become over-reactive and report me based on such a silly thing. Grow up and realise that when someone doesn't agree with you that it doesn't mean it is offensive.

  • @BlazerLT trolling this video since 2009

  • @ShoelessJoe11 Nah, just replying to people attacking me for stating the obvious. I have the right to reply.

  • My dog does that sometimes, but that's only because she has sore teeth sometimes, and she's had mouth surgery in the past. She wags her tail too and is never in any danger of biting anyone, It not necessarily growling because the dog is not showing any other signs of aggression like showing his/her teeth.

This dog is not growling because a) no teeth showing b) wagging tail c) opening and closing his/her mouth

  • @FunAnimalGirl Just becuase you were stupid enough to let your dog do it doesn't mean all dogs are going to act like yours.

  • Gosh people are really stupid....dogs can growl to play as well, sometimes they're just talking .

  • clearly not aggressive growling, more than I would ever allow but your choice, as long as you keep an eye on him and accept responsibility for anything and everything that could/would ever happen :)

I love the way he almost smirks as if hes saying, back off mah muncheez xD

btw folks marking the relation between the tail wagging malarky, watch a wardog taking down folk during exercise as it rips into their suit, tail wagging all the time :)

  • is his paw broke?

  • tail is wagging

  • As a former golden owner there is a difference between "This is mine, go away" growling and "Get away or I'll bite you" growling. This seems like the former to me. If he decided he'd had enough he'd bark and/or move away. That's what mine would do.

  • 0:43.... looks like he is smiling!!!

    gorgeous dog you got there!!!

  • i would say he is playing, if he didn't freeze and gave you the under look of don't approach too much, and he then hurries in his chewing, he doesn't wanna drop the food of his mouth, all these r not good signs, regardless wagging the tail or not, tail movement can be a sign of anxiety and not only happens, i advice u to take it a bit seriously

  • well whatever that growl is, it not a going to bite kind of growl, it seems anyway, doesnt seem aggressive,. this is a future sorry bout your face if he ever does bite,

  • Its a golden so it probably wont bite, but its clearly rather annoyed.

  • my dog growls and wags her tail at the same time...i think she does it cause shes jack russell/chihuahua mix....and yeah she bites me alot lmao

  • Your dog has an itchy mouth.

  • no no its cool you guys can totally bash the video for shits n giggles that doesn't ruin the viewing experience at all.

  • I also have a golden retriever and when she plays she does a funny little growl and her tail is wagging like crazy. It is not an aggressive growl and she does not bite, if I put my hand near her mouth when she is doing the growl she snuggles into it. Not all dogs are aggressive, it's a form of communication

  • It's sad how little some of you seem to know about dogs. They do play growl. Mine does it all the time and she would never even think of biting me.we growl at each other all the time but when I tell her to do something she does it immediately without hesitation.I've been around dogs all my life. Unlike some of you, who should really not talk about things you obviously know nothing about, I know the difference between a serious growl and a play growl.

  • My golden does this as well. Extending his hand would not have resulted in a bite.

  • you should have extended your hand to your dog whilst takin this vid and see wot happens then

  • My grandmother's yorkie would growl when we played fetch or tug of war so I just growled back. He would bring the ball to you but you had to pull the ball from his mouth. Not every dog is the same, so blanket statements like if he growls he's going to bite isn't exactly true. This guy knows his dog better than you do I'd reckon.

  • people are stupid hes growling and moving hes tail that means he wants too play around i have a Maltese and he do that all the time and never bite no one in hes life but idk why he likes little kids to much

  • he sounds like a bird in a way awwww so cute!!!

  • this is why i love goldens. the dog is defending whatever is on the floor but it can't even make a mean face ahahah

  • Lol my golden does the same thing... just means she happy or she wants something

  • funny soooooo funny

  • its more like purring

  • my friends dog does that. lol

  • Grrrrr!

    LOL!

  • Cutie

  • i want to hug this beast!

    big cutie!

  • my friends dog do the same and it is for laughing pretty funny i think

  • awhh XD

  • My golden retriever growls like that when we play tug o war. It's so funny. Then afterwards, she gives me big kisses on the face. It's very cute.

  • Yeah, those are playful growls. My Golden does it too when she's feeling very playful.

  • haha what did you guys do to that dog never seen a dog so pissed even tho it was wagging its tail

  • Just like my Lab Lucky... =) He does that and wags his tail at the same time...

  • soooo cute :DD

  • It talks?

  • Bite bite bite, nom nom nom!

  • It dosent talk!

  • Dear god he is about to swallow his lip. Lol just kidding cute dog

  • he probably does that cause you keep shaking the camera so badly! he is with the viewers!

  • My dogs do that. I think it's kind of a game...like they are challenging you to wrestle or play.

  • oh what a cute boy! i dont think hes mad tho ^^ just playin :D look how his tail waggles

  • he's growling at you cos ur getting too close to his toy

  • Hehe! My dog does that too!

  • grrr.nyumnyumnyum!

  • look at is faces

  • lolz itz lyk showing u how ur guna b eatin lyk in her mouth XD

  • my dog does that. I say Codie! and she has a bone, so when i get close she growls and wags her tails.

  • It's soo cute ... but I think it's mad. :O

  • this is actually a non-aggressive growl. you can think of this type of growl as "greet." its common that golden retrievers will greet guests with a wagging tail and a toy in their mouth while doing this lowly growl.

  • I think he likes it, its his way of laughing and he has never bit me. You clearly don't know my dog :)

  • @ballsee i have a pitbull that does growling noises to talk as well... when people don't know her they think she is being aggresive.... but that is just the way she communicates... you have a cute dog!

  • @ballsee What a cutie pie! I have 4 goldens, and my next to youngest english creme does this as well. He's very experssive, talkative, and a real chatterer. Your baby is soooo handsome!

  • @ballsee I agree. I've had Goldens all my life and they won't hurt a fly! Its just talking!

  • That is growling regardless of him wagging his tail. Any dog that growls with food in his mouth is a biting risk and will eventually get worse. it is not funny and it is a dumb thing for an owner to allow to happen. Saying it is talking is borderline ridiculous.

  • @BlazerLT Nutso.

  • @mspookie great response douchebag.

  • @BlazerLT if a dog does a "warning Growl" its more high pitched, that is a very deep howl, he isnt gonna bit when his doing that. he isnt showing any white in his eyes so that is another sign that he is happy/clam.

  • @mack2610 BS, dogs only growl to ward off some people from his food. It is not something cute, funny or something to be condoned from any dog. Saying some BS about pitch and howl is moronic and you are only one of those owners that make excuses for dogs being aggresive. Never should a dog that considers you to be the boss will ever growl at you. If he did that to his superior in a pack he would be promptly put in his place by the lead dog, which in this case should be the owner. End of story.

  • @BlazerLT Number one its his dog! I think he knows his dog better than we do and I never once thought he would bite him. My dog growls when we play does than mean hes going to bite me...I think some people are too tightly wound.

  • @MidnightToker7777 Who cares if it is your dog. Dogs growling is a warning that he is in possession of something he values. No dog will growl at their superior. Obviously he doesn't consider you someone he respects and thus, he growls. If he was in a pack and he growls at the alpha male he would be put in his place quickly. Too bad we can't train owners as well.

  • @BlazerLT Wow let's just make a statement and pass it off as fact. Got a link to a scientific study to prove this? Or are you going to state that your a master dog trainer who knows EVERYTHING about dogs and can't be wrong!

  • @zhandao You ask any trainer "WHICH I DID", and any growling from any dog to its owner means the dog doesn't respect you as his leader and thus it will only be time till the dog will snap or bite someone. My Golden Retriver tried the same thing with a bone as a young adult and I pinned him for two minutes while growling and asserting my dominance and leadership over him. In a wild pack, you growl at the leader, you are put in your palce quick which is what this dog needs to happen to him.

  • @BlazerLT Lol. That was sarcastic. A dog trainer is not a reliable source for actual, scientific explanation. There is no standard of professionalism or credentials. You're basically taking a person's personal theory to heart, lol. Again. Let's just take a statement and pass it off as fact. Anyways, done putting you in your place, I'm off.

  • @zhandao Putting in my place? Yea right. Fact is, in a pack, if any dog below the alpha growls at the leader, it leaves the situation usually with some teeth marks and bleeding. That is science and nature. Anyone who condones a dog growling and showing teeth in any situation is an idiot covering up their own ignorance. You go ahead and enjoy your growling dog. I will enjoy my dog who can have a bone taken away by my infant without a whisper cause he knows that everyone is the boss except him.

  • @BlazerLT Fact is, you're wrong. See what I did there? I just pulled a random statement out of my ass and made it sound like fact.

Stop regurgitating "facts" and actually do your research, son.

  • @zhandao Ah yes, the professional troll out to argue nothing and be a complete ass and douchebag. I bet you don't even own a dog, but yet you now say you are above trainers and anyone with some knowledge. All hail the self-appointed dick know-it-all. A fact is a proven truth. All you have regurgitated is your own idiotic opinion based off of ignorance.

  • @BlazerLT

I have never ever ever heard of a Golden biting anyone!!! EVER~

  • UMMM i'm not sure if i understood that but it said Talking Dog not " I'm growling cause your annoying me" have fun when he/she bites your face off..

  • @novaboy74 um don't have to be a jerk cuz you don't like the vid k your the one who clicked on the vid in the first place

  • i think he's growling cause he's eating

  • so cute~~

  • hes just playin

  • thts funny my golden does tht too he's only playin though

  • he's so funny.adorable! I used to tease my dalmatine that way)))

  • your dog doesnt like your too much

  • Get back stupid!

  • lol if he wags his tail and growls hes just kidding around if he was really growling he wouldnt be wagging his tail and would still growl but hes just kidding but if he was really growling then he should get back but hes just kidding.

  • wrong

  • Like egaba88 comments its a non-agressive growl that growl doesnt exactly mean stay back its just a greet with a lowly growl well it your opinion if you think im wrong but I know how a golden reacts but if he continues growling there maybe a problem but I bet it wasnt for long.

  • Well I dont mean stupid.... I dont know.

  • he wants to play,iv got a golden retrever called travis he is 8 and the same as ur dog

  • He's just talking. Goldens do it but many owners mistake it for growling. If he was growling, it would be softer with the tail not wagging.

  • lol, just because a dog is wagging it's tail doesn't mean he's happy:P Dogs wag their tags during lots of behaviors. I love his grumbling:P

  • lmao lol

  • Seriously man...your dog has friggin spirit hehehe! What a pimp! Growlin at you saying "back down bitch! I'm Rick James!"

  • Rofl!!!!!!!

  • my golden retrive does that when the other dog comes to try and steal hes bone :D but for the tail it same thing she wacks it every time she see's something or someone tlaks

  • hahahah my golden does that too :) lol it means "get away from my chew or ill eat ya" lol

  • My dog sometimes growls and wags his tail, I can pet him though. Do you have a cat around? A cat's purring and trigger the dog to think it can purr too. Sometimes my dog growls alot when I pet him, but he wags his tail and smiles and then sneezes (Like on because of Winndixie. XDD)

  • Goldens are great dogs!

  • yeah but they eat all the time

  • ok..........

  • cool dog.

  • I love your dog! :>)
