  • @tenolord: Yes it is on Essex too!

  • @Raymond: Thanks for your comment, I was not around yet in 54 and born on the wrong side of the pond. I discovered this beautiful music in the early eighties ;o) the GRIND oh oui!! Merry Xmas and thank you again for popping in at"Straight From The Fridge"

  • @tenorlord: I was 13 years old in 1954 and introduced to rhythm and blues, as it was called then (rock 'n' roll came later), and bought many 78's. There were no such thing as 45's. Suffice it to say I now have no 78's or 45's for that matter. Anyway, after the "white invasion" I didn't think anybody would remember this beautiful music. As for the label, I do believe it was a black label but I don't remember the company title. BTW I was also introduced to a slow dance known as "the grind!! "

  • @tenolord, thanks, is that on Essex too?

  • "Watch Them Resolutions" was the flipside on my copy.

  • Thanks for your input, I did not know, must find a copy of the 78 now!

  • Sorry, but Manhattan Fable is the B side to BeBop Santa. At least it is on the original 78rpm.

  • @Raymond18806 Mine was on a 45rpm with a black label.

  • "Hipsters Holiday", a CD by Rhino Records - it will provide you with a speed corrected version - as well as some other gems.
