  • BASKET CASE! GOOD RIDDANCE? WHERE

  • people stop complaining the good rick songs are too many to get into one video

  • 1 AEROSMITH SONG?!?!?!?! NO VAN HALEN SONGS?!?!?!?!?!

WE BETTER GET U CHECKED UP MAN

  • 1% for effort, -100% for missing the whole point of rock music. You've even managed include songs tat have no relivence to rock progression at all!! Why didn't you just call it 'Music I like'?

  • thanx for posting realy enjoyed such a direct comparison realy hits home . when you hit 2000 man what a let down not that this music isn't good because i enjoy listening to it but when i hear it back to back with the music of the 70s and 80s man you realy understand how lacking it realy is (this too shall pass).

  • i love all type of rock/metal/hardcore anything like besides rap and hip hop stuff. dont hate on this generations rock/metal/hardcore music because once again will the greatest music ever Rock And Roll will be on top! Long Live Rock!!

  • Nice video!

  • rod stewart give me a break

  • Black Sabbath FOREVER !!!!!!!!!

  • ty for making these :) I really enjoy such vids on youtube. Thank you!

  • where is Dire Straits ? :O . )

  • after 2000 its crap as its too computerised sounding

  • so...where is YES, Genesis (w/PG), Jethro Tull and many more Progressive bands?

    mmm...

  • you forgot the king of rock and roll.. Van Halen.

  • But why do you put Aerosmith in the 90's, all their best songs and their classics are in the 70's (Sweet Emotion, Dream on, Walk This way, Last child, Back in the saddle, Train kept a rollin, Uncle Salty, Same Old Song And Dance and many more) And sorry but "Crazy" is not a classic...

  • Wow.. It just shows how music went from pretty great, too okay this isn't to bad, too what the hell is this shit.

  • not bad choice thanxx for motley crue

  • you know what i noticed from the girst 2 mins of the vid that history is repeating itself i mean the style and way they dress its funny how people make fun of their parents when they were young bt them you wait a couple years and sure enough the syle is back any one notice the skinny jeans and that converse have always been there.

  • queen magnificooooooo

  • where's Journey? Don't Stop Believing is EPIC!!!

  • Um Public Enemy feat Anthrax from Apocolypse 91 the enemy strikes black

  • Aerosmith forever! >:D

  • good

  • 70s, 80s, and the first half of the 90s.

That's rock n' roll. Before the boy bands, the rappers, the slutty pop singers, and the Justin Biebers.

  • @ssaykcul There are have been so many great bands in the 21st Century: The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, The Libertines, Yeah Yeah Yeahs etc.

  • BEATLES ARE 60S

  • Good video!

  • *losing my religion...sorry I'm very anal about spelling.

  • very good video wolfworck this video represent very good the story of rock

  • that's pretty good - but limp bizcuit suck. in their place you should have the Deftones

  • Peace Sells my favourite song ever

  • Where is the AC/DC?? So many good famous songs from that band from the '70's, '80's, '90's...

  • Well, in my opinion rock died in early 70s, or least everything it was about died.

  • @JusRam1 A lot of amazing rock bands were still around in the 90s, but i guess pop had started overtaking the popularity of rock by then....

I wish I was around when this music was still popular :(

I hate looking at the charts now, because there's no decent music there. It really makes me wish that artists like freddie mercury and kurt cobain were still alive :(

  • @JusRam1 haha for me i think it ended in the 90's. As soon as rock mixed with rap i thought it was all over.

  • Sorry...I miss only one group: Where are the IRONS??? Where is the Iron Maiden???

  • @rock0judit second part

  • Hey Jude is 60's man

  • Evanescence SUCKS!!!

  • hair bands suck ass

  • woot. bat country. one of my favorite tunes ever. good list btw

  • Pink Floy, REALLY?

  • hey jude is from the 60s.

  • The metal remake of Bring the Noise by Anthrax and Epic by Faith No More were 90's songs, not 80's.

  • Uhm thats right, my mistake, but I put Epic in 90s songs

  • mm and "smells like teen spirit"????

  • felt so damn cool when slipknot came with vermillion here....to damn beautyfull song

    great list btw

  • Do ya Think I'm Sexy, I would think that is more pop than rock.

    Good list overall though!

  • UFO, BTO .DEEP PURPLE , MANFRED MANN , BAD COMPANY, IRON MAIDEN, URIAH HEEP, RARE EARTH , SAVOY BROWN,TALKING HEADS CREAM, DAVID BOWIE, JIMI HENDRIX, SCORPIONS, STEELY DAN, VAN HALEN..... try listening to this 70's bands and its gonna be worth your while....... except for HENDRIX hes a LEGEND. 90's im very DISTURBED u dont have any RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE on this post, or i just got the THIRD EYE BLIND? anyways im just 3 DOORS DOWN u can call me at 311 - SEVEN MARY THREE.. by KINGS OF LEON

  • More REO Suckwagon please.

  • Had a bit of a problem with some of those being called rock songs.

Also I couldn't help noticing the drop in quality from the 70's to the 80's and then from the 90's to the 00's.

  • @redplague. Which songs do you think dont pass as rock music and why?

  • Well I can't comment on Hey Jude or Angie as I haven't heard them all the way through and they might liven up a bit for all I know, but of the ones I have heard The Doors one, the Police one and hurt. The reason being that the Police one and Hurt are too soft and the Doors one sounds more blues than rock.

  • @redplague Oh ok I get now.

  • I LIKE 80's

  • Where'a

    ABBA?

  • abba?? is pop music

  • @Wolfworck so whys the beatles here then

  • idiot they said rock not pop

  • S.O.A.D., Foo Fighters, Linkin Park, Metallica and Pearl Jam are the best we can get now...

  • 90

    70

    00

    80

    for me

  • Wow Thats EXACTLY but E.X.A.C.T.L.Y. The same for me.

  • this is a good list!

maybe a better choice of priest

and also you need iron maiden!

  • Missing songs:

    80's:

Iron Maiden - The Number of the Beast

Diamond Head - Am I Evil

    Manowar - Battle Hymns

    Helloween - I Want Out

    90's:

Metallica - The Unforgiven (or another song off the Black Album like Enter Sandman or maybe Nothing Else Matters or Sad But True)

WHERE THE FUCK IS POWER METAL?!?

  • W.A.S.P.!!!!!!

  • The doors= my favorite band

    then ozzy osbourne

    and motley crue

  • wish i was born in the 70's i got born in 1996....

  • 96?! God i feel old! Dont go too far.. 80s would be pretty decent as well.. :p

  • @XxXZEEKERXxX me too :/

  • Rock exsisted before the 70's.

  • ok : D

  • jajaaj yeaa

but some dates do not fit with the bands

the doors, only reaching the 60s and the year of 1970 in 1971 Jim Morrison died.

guns n roses began as a band in the 80s but in the 90s

    became famous.

Green Day started in the 90s and in the year 1994 became famous with his album dookie.

  • the video is not about the year of the band, is about the year when the song was released, sweet child o mine 80s, riders on the 70s (1971) :)

  • how come there's no who here? they were a great 70's rock n roll band!!!!!!

  • the who are a 60s band and they are in the part 2, so see it :)

  • yea but they released some of their best work in the 70's, i mean the song won't get fooled again should have been in this video because it's a 70's rock n roll song

  • no acdc or van halen is is the stupidest video i have ever seen

  • yeah or Maiden, Who etc

  • Hey Jude was actually released in 1968. And the Beatles broke up in 1969. Their last album (not really an album) was released in 1970.

  • queen is the king of the rock

  • Where's Muse, Deftones, Breaking Benjamin, The killers, Stereophonics?????

    NoooOo..!

there should be part 2. X)

  • police is the best of 80's but all the rest of the 80's soundz sux

  • freebird

  • everything is great except blink 182.

  • Pathetic.

Could be any bargain bucket compilation album.

  • Rod Stewart 'Do ya think im sexy' is disco pop, and has very little rock in it. The video would have been much better if the music was organised into chronological order.

  • aerosmith 90´s?

  • METALLICAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!! xD o yah and JUDAS PRIIIIIIEEEEST! lolz

  • I like all of those songs :)

  • Good songs. But some I wouldn't consider true rock. Like, blink 182. They're more punk

  • foo fighters and slipknot kicks ass!!!

Btw...all rap and techno and that stuff can suck donkey balls?

  • whats the first song??

  • pink floyd - another brick in the wall, im just cut the song

  • I don't understand how you're making a video about the history of rock, and you don't have any songs from the 50s.

  • (songs of the 70s to 2000s)

    70s - 2000s not 50s-2000s or 60s-2000 (:

  • good video man!

  • très bons échantillons de rock ! MERCI

  • thank you

i am young and new in the roch scene

so i learned a lot of things about rock history :D

  • the very begining sounded like the intro to eye of the tiger by survivor

  • awesome video!,you have some of the same taste in music as me. : )

  • KISS DOES DESERVE TO BE IN HERE there one of the best bands EVER

  • You didn't put The White Stripes in the 2000s... What's wrong with you?

  • i dont like the white stripes, i put in the description FOR ME

  • Hey Jude was released in 1968 perhaps you should change the name of this video

  • Good picks! i agree that most of these songs deserve tribute... but not Kiss. lol

I think riders on the storm was made in the 60s. :)

  • QUEEN THE BEST FOREVER AND EVER

  • the order doesnt matter...

  • aerosmith!! from 90s?

    foo fighters from finally 2000?

the ramones are first than sex pistols

    any way good job

  • GNFNR!

  • Hey Jude is from 1970

  • ik i mean the beatles in general are a 60's band

  • yeah bohemian rhapsody!!

  • no ac/dc or van halen? well at least there were good songs

  • Hi. Great video! But what about DEEP PURPLE!!?? Ok, there are a lot of bands from the 70's which was without any doubt the best year in history of music, but Deep Purple is together with Black Sabbath the pioners of hard rock!

Long Live 70's and some 80's rock and metal!!!

  • you're right, Deep Purple forever!!!

  • no oasis? that's like history without the great depression!

  • awsummmmmme zeppilin rules

  • jajajajaja!!!

  • 2 U nothing compares to

  • good songs, but your definitely missing a few.

  • No Radiohead and no U2, that's history without the two World wars.

  • radiohead cannot compare to u2 ...

  • nothing compares to U 2

  • just my opinion...but very poor...

  • that was the rise and fall of rock.

  • More like the rise and fall of Metallica, The other bands didn't even have a shot at life.

    lol metallica HAHAHAHAH!!!

  • under a slipknot mask is a jonas brother

  • Under your user name is someone who likes men.

  • all rap sucks 50 cent limp buskit chamillionare

  • i' love QUEEN

  • Another Brick in the Wall is from the 80s

  • the movie is .... the album came out in 79

  • i thought the movie was the wall not another brick in the wall well shows how much i know

  • its called we don't need no education

  • its called another brick in the wall.

  • Pretty cool, +1 on Aerosmith in the '70s though.

I've never got why people remember The Wall by Floyd, Dark Side is waaaay better. But I am a hard-core Floyd fan (if there is such a narrow definition).

Oh, and punk is a type of rock to all those naysayers. Probably embodies the origins of rock better then any redefinition. Still sucks though :p

  • Cool video! But where is Iron Maiden!?

  • judast....

  • Hey juse was made in the 60s, rite?

  • Hey greenday has many album already in 90's

  • dude punk 8is a type of rock like grunge , rock n'roll , metal etc
